I say this with love, and this book is gorgeous but the Omnibus is truly the way to consume this story. Also like Batman and Son Absolute, which is available already in volume 1 Morrison Batman Omnibus, why can't DC spend the resources on new releases like 80's LOSH. But Batman....$$
No way. The Absolute is the only format to give you the Superman issues in their original 3D which is the entire point of that storyline and integral to the FC story.
@@GFauxfox the 3d doesn't really add anything to story, except a headache for people who already wear glasses (I bought those comics in singles when they came out) No way is the 3d integral to the story

I enjoyed Final Crisis but I did allll the homework assignments. I did find the story as presented in the Omnibus to be a choppy reading experience. I'm looking forward to giving it another shot in this more concise format.
@@ramtruth3 to be honest, no. You can enjoy it anyway, just know that some things will be totally confusing! There's a couple of approaches to this, you could read some articles or watch some videos that could prepare you. Or you could follow a long online prep reading list, and there are a number of them out there. I guess what I will probably suggest is to do what you were going to do first. And then if you want to go back and do all your homework, well that's going to take you a really really long time, I mean it could take years, and then you'll be ready to get back to Final Crisis again! I did years of reading (while reading plenty of other things at the same time) to prepare.

Somewhat surprised they didn't include Batman 701-702 (RIP The Missing Chapters) also written by Morrison, but those were probably just written for Batman readers who didn't read Final Crisis. I have mixed feelings on this, I think Morrison tends to get sloppy with the end of stories and JG Jones not doing all of the art is disruptive (also think the art in Batman 682-683 and Submit is subpar compared to everything else) Crisis on Infinite Earths is still the best of the Crisis stories imo, but a lot of that is George Perez for me.

Purchased the omnibus and after receiving it I had the choice of buying step ladder to read it or sending it back. So..... im going to order this instead. Deluxe and Absolute only for me from now on. I'll pick up the extras in my DC Infinite subscription

This is all you need to know about Final Crisis ... Darkseid is the big baddy ... followed by a bunch of increasingly incomprehensible stuff (which Morrisson claimed was done purposely in an interview) .... then Darkseid hits Batman with his Omega beams, sending Batman "Back in Time" with Huey Lewis and the News ... I may be mistaken about the last part regarding Huey Lewis.

There is not a single Morrison story I like. He is really bad at writing dialogue. His dialogue often sounds like prepared speeches. And I never care about the characters he portrays.
Now I'll be able to not understand it while looking at the beautiful oversized art.

I recently purchased infinite crisis along with Forth world vol 1 and 2 . Do you think that’s enough for me to understand final crisis?

You can't go wrong with Perez. He is definitely one of the artists I must buy absolutes for, if able.

Not my favorite Morrison (though some of that is due to the general mediocrity of DC under Didio) but it's rep as confusing is unearned.
