I loved Johns' run on Superman. The Legion story was by far my favourite story arc. You have to remember that this story was reintroducing the classic Legion to the DC Universe, after Waid and Kitson's reboot was booted out. I have no problem with Superman being depowered, he's still Superman even without powers.
I think this book was a missed opportunity, and typical of DC's collected edition problems. I understand what they were doing, but it would've been better as a solely Geoff Johns' Superman book with all the artists who contributed. The whole run from Last Son through to the New Krypton arc tells a complete story, and plot threads running through the Legion, Braniac and even Secret Origin all pay off by the end of Johns' run. An omnibus, or two, would be a great way to collect everything.

Man I really wish that they would make a omnibus for the New Krypton event I mean there’s like what 3 omnis worth of Batman No Man’s Land and Knightfall but besides the Death and Reign of the Supermen there is absolutely nothing for the Superman events I mean seriously I want that New Krypton omnibus so bad man
I'm surprised they haven't collected all of Geoff Johns Superman run. Totally agree with you that New Krypton deserves an omnibus.
Haven’t watched the vid but yesss we need as many Absolute Superman books as possible! The fact that For Tomorrow got one before any other (i think) is a crying shame that should be rectified

Superman secret origin is my favorite comic of all time
Love this book, mainly for the Legion storyline which is one of my favorites because it was the return of the Legion after a long hiatus. I do think it deserved the Absolute format....Gary Frank's artwork is beautiful.
I want a absolute version of Superman: Doomsdy.
Honestly, it should've been an oversized hardcover, for the Death of Superman 30th anniversary last year. But DC collected edition department is GARBAGE.

The brainiac story was adapted into an animated movie called Superman unbound
We need an omnibus of all of Johns Superman. So good. Love the design on this absolute.
For those that are reading this for the first time, read, SECRET ORIGIN first, then LEGION of SUPERHEROES, and lastly BRAINIAC. Much better reading experience in my opinion.
Nice review bro. I agree that introducing so many characters at once in the Legion story does feels kind of overwhelming.
Why didnt I even know that this existed!?!?! Totally going to pick this one up. Absolute editions are absolutely the best format. Prove me wrong.
I think there's a pretty big Legion of Superheroes fan base, so I can see this Absolute Edition appeasing them. I think I'll dig it.
Richard Donner had filmed around 3/4 of Superman II when he was replaced by Richard Lester.
It absolutely does not deserve an absolute edition. I would much rather have a Superman Birthright absolute edition and even a Red Son Absolute Edition. I literally think they just made it an absolute edition because it’s Geoff Johns and Superman needs an absolute edition. Hasn’t had one in a while.
I'll even throw in Secret Identity that needs an Absolute.

Top notch stories. A bit of a left field choice for Absolute, but I am not complaining. Love the Legion due to learning about them from this Johns Superman work. As to the other comments, Birthright should be next. Its wonderful. My modern origin Superman story. Vegetarian Superman, a modern champ.
Red Son also a great shout for an Absolute!

I’m jumping on the Superman Birthright Absolute edition band wagon, I would love that. Even the classic John Byrne Man of Steel miniseries would be worthy of an Absolute edition IMO. The stories in here are good, but I’m not parting with over $100 to double dip into them. I wish I understood DCs thought process when they pick Superman stories for the absolute format. I’ve only ever picked up All Star and For All Seasons.

Amazing run, shame this doesn’t include lost son though, as I think that was johns and kubert but would fit in nice with this collection

I'm not a big fan of Gary Frank on Superman and I didn't care for Superman and the Legion however I had hoped for a Legion of 3 World's Absolute Edition. A "Legion of 3 World's" Absolute Edition could include the Justice League and Justice Society Lightning Saga by Brad Meltzer, Geoff Johns, Ed Benes and Shane Davis, the Superman and the Legion story only because it ties in better and conclude with the main Legion of 3 World's by Geoff Johns and George Pérez. I could also see tons of extras like a George Pérez Legion cover art gallery that would include early works on the Legion, the George Pérez redesigns the Legion from the early DC Special Best of DC Blue Ribbon Digest #24.

I’ve never read this run, strange because Johns was always my favourite writer, not sure why I never picked it up.

I dont think it's worth it. Legion story is boring, ending of the Brainiac arc is lame (ewww germs!). I already have a hard cover of Secret origin. Great art though
