He eats human food because it makes mental sense to him, but not because he has to. He's never had any addictions, bad decisions, or mistakes. Any that he does have are single-issue and have never really become part of his canon. When he is written well, though, it's easy to forget all of that because the reader is able to relate to how the citizens of DC-Earth see Superman. He's still that boy in Smallville who is trying to be the person his parents thought he could be. Even if your parents weren't good people, most of us have SOMEONE who believes we will do great things. For some, it IS Superman... That's why good writing of Superman has him being less super and more "the boy [his] *parents* raised."

Lost my dad when i was 20 from Cancer. Never got to see me get married or his grandchildren, but i try to live the way he raised me. When Superman said, "He would never give up being the boy my parents raised." it made me tear up. Felt that hard.
I feel you. I was 20 when my dad died from an aneurysm. His gf was a total piece of crap and my mom hated him. I was on my own planning and paying for a funeral as a friggin kid. I was lucky that the funeral director had been friends with my dad in highschool, or I'd have been totally screwed. My dad was a BIG man. He was so big that they needed a special ordered casket. This was long before the days of go fund mes. Folks raised a bunch of money for the funeral, but it was still short. The funeral director ate the cost. Dude is such a damn good guy. He was pretty broken up himself. He told me that it was the first time he'd ever had to work on one of his life long friends. I'll never forget him totally loosing his shot when my gram walked in. He wasn't at my wedding, the birth of my kids, or any of that. Some days I miss him so damn much, but the worst part is that deep down inside I know he probably wouldn't have been there for any of those things anyways. But, what are ya gonna do other than shout into the void.

4:01 had the wrong translation. He says "You not stay here, Superman. Get up, try to stop me. Make me kill you". Meaning "Stay here Superman. Don't get up. Don't try to stop me. Don't make me kill you" So probably not here to kill and not trying to destroy Superman.
It's unfortunately , the only way to get people to read good superman stories anymore is to say "he's gonna go crazy" Luckily, writers are realizing this, So they'll begin there superman stories with darkness at the beginning, but then and swap jt a nice , happy superman moment that actually shows off the character. Like with batman. Kills, or spiderman suffering, bait and switch, a dirty trick but a nessicary evil with today audience. Oh maybe I'm talking out my ass.
Seeing the joker team up with superman is so unique. Its such a fun time seeing joker completely flip and turn into someone that saves the world with EMPATHY and conversation. The sane jokers last few lines are also enough to give me a small chuckle.

Superman and Thor are my favorite characters of all time and the fact that Jason Aaron wrote, in my opinion the greatest Thor Story of all time with The God Butcher and God Bomb. I am extremely excited to see where he takes Superman. So far he is off to a good start.

I think bizaro being superman's hulk is the best way to push the old story of superman. Maybe having to tap into darkness like Constantine to beat magic foes will give his stories a breath of fresh air.... when I was a kid I thought that's what it was for a while 😂😂😂
Very well done. Using Superman's non resistance to magic to cast a spell on him that essentially granted Bizarro's wish, to not be alone anymore. At the same time we get a unique look into the psyche of the Man of Steel as well as the Joker.

Superman ISN'T "weak to magic". Superman could ALWAYS absorb and utilize magic. He just didn't like to, because it can have unusual effects, similar to red kryptonite.
Bizarro is always such a fun character. His time in the Outlaws was awesome. And I never thought about it, but I guess it makes sense that since Bizarro is the inverse of Superman, he would get stronger when touched by magic. 6:05 Cool magic. Just like Zatara and Zatanna. Bizarro Joker and a Bizarro Joker/Superman team up was such fun too.
They basically pulled a Seinfeld plot, George tells jerry every deep, dark thought, and things hes done, and it scares jerry back into being his old cynical self.
There's lots of confusion in the writing in Bizarro stories because, sometimes they play the opposite thing for everything, sometimes there are lines that shouldn't be swapped like the "Go away Superman" you would think that means come here, but it's supposed to be taken at face value.

This story makes no sense for 3 reasons: 1- Superman doesn’t need to sleep. 2- Magic isn’t a Superman weakness. It’s a vulnerability. 3- Batman is the epitome of plot. He serves zero purpose.
4.- Superman should be able to hear and find joker after reversing the spell. I still liked this story tho, it seemed pretty far out there but I enjoyed it overall
Great story. Was thinking that it would’ve been nice to see a Bizarro Superman vs Orange Batman. Not that Z-Bats is necessarily the inverse of himself, but it would’ve been a counter measure against Superman who went rogue. Though there wasn’t much since Superman resisted all the way through and outlasted everyone.

Superman being killed so many times reminds me of when Joker took the power of Myzpltik(sp?) and drove Batman insane over eons of torture. Superman takes on all that torment and remains sane, so that Batman can get his sanity back.

My favorite episodes of the 90s Superman cartoon were the ones with Bizarro, so him willingly choosing to be evil was heartbreaking

This story makes no sense for 3 reasons:
1- Superman doesn’t need to sleep.
2- Magic isn’t a Superman weakness. It’s a vulnerability.
3- Batman is the epitome of plot. He serves zero purpose.
4.- Superman should be able to hear and find joker after reversing the spell.
I still liked this story tho, it seemed pretty far out there but I enjoyed it overall

Was thinking that it would’ve been nice to see a Bizarro Superman vs Orange Batman. Not that Z-Bats is necessarily the inverse of himself, but it would’ve been a counter measure against Superman who went rogue. Though there wasn’t much since Superman resisted all the way through and outlasted everyone.
This whole comic felt like an acid trip

Superman being killed so many times reminds me of when Joker took the power of Myzpltik(sp?) and drove Batman insane over eons of torture. Superman takes on all that torment and remains sane, so that Batman can get his sanity back.
This story is 💀, however, excellent narration and presentation as usual Rob.
He sure was great in that Red Hood & the Outlaws run. Those books were great.
