huge thanks i used this to install mine it only took 45 minutes to a hour! considering im not to mechanically inclined i would say thats a great time for install lol

Tein Springs are usually a good spring....about 1.5 drop just enough to make it flush

How do I wire for the LED version
my carbon fiber didn't fit properly the steering trim wasn't flush. the steering wheel was arch. example if place steering wheel on a table you'll see the arch making a slight u shape . the final product is not inspected they just shipp it . I fix it 85% but I ended just ordering a new one from a local guy senopi motorsports. it was a perfect fit 👌.he tells me he assemble the steering wheel & trim so it fit always

reading the official Infiniti Service Manual, it states to never reuse steering wheel lock nut. However most ppl I've seen do this on UA-cam don't appear to be putting a new one on. Any concerns with vibration eventually causing it to come loose? Also if anyone wonders, manual states to torque to 25 ft-lbs.
I don’t think anyone has used a new nut lol.
They make a carbon fiber one that’s more aggressive and doesn’t attract finger prints like gloss black.
You must not have watched my unboxing video. I do not like carbon fiber. I got this wheel only because it was gloss black.

I have been looking into see if the newer model steering wheel would work on the older q50 and I found that for the controls they both have an 8 prong connector but on the newer model wheel there’s also another connector that is a 3 prong and I have no clue what it is. Anyone know what it’s for?

how many days did it take for your steering wheel to arrive?
Well I took a wheel he had finished and in stock so I placed the order on a Friday and I think I had it the following Monday. Super fast.
I know this may sound dumb but the airbag won't deploy if you remove the negative battery terminal right? 😂
No. Disconnect the batter and push the brake a few times, which will ensure all current has dissipated.
Do you know if it supports heated steering? My q50 has it

Should’ve listened to you about pulling lightly, I just pulled too hard and yanked out some white wires by accident currently stressing out because I just got this car not even a week ago

Just installed my steering wheel today, I made sure the two lines were lined up before tightening the bolt and when driving in a straight line it seemed like the steering wheel was a little to the left. Any idea why it is doing that?
It’s not the original steering wheel. Teeth don’t match up perfectly.

Did horn and everything work after?
Yes. This is still a Q50 wheel. Nothing changes. Everything is just moved from one to the other.
I get one side of the airbag cover off then the other side won’t budge at all
You have to move it just a little bit on each side back and forth. If you get one side out too far the other side gets stuck

Mann I’m struggling with popping the airbag off it’s been 2 hours it just won’t come off, any extra tips?
What’s the problem? You have to do it a little at a time. Pull a little on the left then a little on the right then left then right lol

Is the spring loaded clip to take out airbag on both sides? Or just one?
Yes on both sides.

so i contacted the guy and he is in the process of making mold for the q50 steering wheels? How was he selling steering wheels before then I am genuinely confused lol
I think he may be working with a new supplier and making higher quality products

I believe it has been done, but I cannot say for sure.

What do you mean it won’t turn all the way? I don’t know why the steering wheel would have messed that up unless your wheels were not straight when you installed it

I didn’t have a heated wheel so makes no difference. Also, I can’t believe how many pansies are out there lol. You need a heated steering wheel, for real? I’m messin with you obviously, but seriously-I spent the first 30 years of my life in Minnesota with 6 months of winter and never knew anyone with a heated steering wheel. Now all of a sudden people can’t live without it. What happened!

This is not carbon fiber. It’s the gloss black. Super easy to install. You could do it in 30 minutes. Let him know you’re subscribed to the channel and get that discount!

Do the afe filters flow better than like a napa gold filter?
Yes. I’d have to check stats, but I believe so.

It’s not seated properly.
Do you need to do an alignment after this?
Shouldn’t, but a lot of people have steering wheels slightly off center after install so may want one to correct it
You may or may not. Due to the splines on the after market wheel may not allow you to properly line it straight. Will depend.

You’ll have to check the connection for the audio. The new wheel wouldn’t affect that at all. The horn portion may be because the airbag assembly isn’t seated properly. Make sure all cords are clear and the pins are seated in the slots properly.

So my horns keep going off everytime I attempt to plug the battery back in after installing steering wheel? Anyone else having this problem?
You’ll have to make sure your wires are connected properly in the steering wheel or not being pinched. Contact is being made where it shouldn’t be
@@SpeedCultureStudios I took both the anti theft horn fuse and regular horn fuse out. Plugged the negative terminal battery in and when I turned on the car there was no check engine light, no air bag light. All controls worked but now obviously I don’t have a horn. Idk if the car thinks it’s being stolen so the horns are going off but I’ll try to take both negative and positive terminals off then redo the entire process.
@@miguelperello4613 sometimes people will not get the horn/airbag cover back in properly and it causes the connection to be made that would typically occur when the horn is pressed. So just be sure the wires are not pinched and that the airbag cover is seated properly and not actually stuck in a “pressed” position.

@@SpeedCultureStudios figured it out, the copper pieces were sticking out and I had to hammer it in. After that everything works and no check engine lights turned on 👌🏽
What trim level is your Q50??
I jumped on a base model for a few reasons.
Speed Culture Studios okay thank you I’m in a hunt for a q50 but didn’t know which trim to get I like how your q50 is put together
jerzeyjay1000 Check out my video about Before Buying a Q50. I go into detail. But the basics are this: sport model has drive by wire and a weird adaptive suspension that can potentially have issues if you lower the car. I hate drive by wire and knew I was going to lower the car so wanted to avoid those issues. When I purchased, the base was $5k cheaper. I like the sport seats better but not $5k better. I installed paddle shifters for $200 and can do the big brakes for less than $1000. At that point I’d have a sport model minus the seats and I don’t have to worry about the crappy steering or the suspension issues-and SAVED $4k. Easy choice. I never use navigation and I couldn’t care less about the sound system. Base model was the best option.
And the horn?
What about the horn? Everything transfers over to the new core. Easy swap.

Did you watch the install? This is basically a factory wheel core. The airbag is just moved over to the new wheel. Nothing to effect the airbag.
But my heated steering wheel feels so good with this cold weather right now 😂😭😭
