  • In this week’s episode, Nichola and I go metal detecting in the woods at a Victorian site - yes, you read that correctly! On this channel, I generally focus on metal detecting colonial sites, but I decided to switch gears for what turned out to be a VERY fruitful hunt! This place was abandoned for 100 years until we found it. Enjoy!

I was saying to myself that Stef is the most knowledgable detectorist I watch, then the Hohner harmonica plate comes up. I guess it depends on where you are and what you dig. Where I am, the 1890's harmonica plate is common. We have no coppers, no shoe buckles, no tombac buttons, no pewter anything. I guess I don't have to know as much out West!

I can top that: I was once perplexed over a metal ice cube tray insert from the 1970s… and there’s video evidence of this if you dig back far enough. 🤣

I would normally choose a Colonial site over a Victorian one (like I get that choice a lot!) but this video makes me rethink that. What a fun hunt! You both found so many interesting things and such a wide variety of items. I love finding older stuff that I can't identify and have to research. Even the part of the wood stove was fun! Thanks for an awesome video Stef! ❤

How is it going Stef. The Coins and Relics you and Nick found are the oldest Coins and Relics I find in Nevada. Man what a sight you were at. The Hair Pin you found is one of the most Beautiful ones I've seen. I've found a few here nothing like yours. The Clam piece I believe, is also a Hat Pin. I found a cool looking one one time broken in the same spot yours is. Love the Religious Medallion. The Suspender Piece were you able to find a Pat Date. Sometimes there on the tiny bar behind the main piece. Real pain to read. The Harmonica Piece Congrats. It's rare to find the piece you found in that good of shape. I've found alot of those here. Mostly broken into a few pieces. Congrats on the IHPs and V Nickle. The oldest things I find here are the Victorian Era. Love all your finds Stef. Nick Love tge Thimble and V Nickle.
