  • In this week’s episode, I did it again… I went metal detecting and found a VIRGIN 1700s site in the middle of the woods! Absolutely NOBODY has been here in over 200 years! The colonial finds were flying out of the ground, but I don’t want to give away ANY spoilers in this description - just grab some popcorn for this longer-than-usual video and enjoy one of my favorite hunts of 2024!

@@dirtdiggindawg310 thanks for watching! Not sure about the shutter pin, doesn’t seem to match. I’m not planning on making a research video - too much drama behind it, a lot of people don’t like UA-camrs “sharing secrets”. One secret I’ll share though is that it is far from easy. For every virgin cellar, I find dozens that have been pounded. Best luck I’ve had is with cabin sites because people can’t see them on their mapping programs - they’d have to actually look at old maps, lol. Most people aren’t patient enough to do that. Years ago, my oldest son and I made annual fishing trips to the Upper Rideau Lake in Ontario. The first year, he was catching everything on white; white frogs, white curly tails, etc. So, we bought a variety of baits in white for the following summer's trip. But that year, nothing wanted white, they all wanted green-pumpkin colored stuff. The following year I did really well with Fire Tiger colors. It was weird, like a memo went out. I fish the Otselic River in NY and all the fish there prefer perch-colored baits, though not exclusively. The Lehigh River in Eastern Pennsylvania, black and silver colors work best.

Incredible restoration. They always say don't try and restore antiques yourself. Its kinda just a general rule of thumb. Unless you know what you're doing. Taking a wire brush to something isn't always the best idea. I hate digging in the MUD it gets everywhere! Happy Hunting!
