    As far as the luckiest player discussion goes, commentators (maybe was Jerm, but I don't remember) used to even have a saying for it. They used to say McBeth "flashed the ring", aka the universe was going to give him some bad luck, then remembered hes the best player in the world and didn't. He's my vote.

      It actually might be me. I'm a solid mid level amateur and the number of my shanks that miss trees or smacks back to the fairway is shockingly high and valid most rounds. If there was a "unearned fairway hit" statistic I'd be easily top 10 in the world.

    3 things---1)I don't understand why Uli would rather have the 12-15 foot par.putt(from OB) instead of a 40' drop zone putt?
    2)Uli only knew "talons" because Discraft makes a Talon(or used to) 3)After seeing Eagle throw back to back 700+' rollers on hole 4 at the Preserve/year 1 of the event, I'd put him I there with the power roller group...

      Both can be, and are true. Gannon is #1 in 2024 from play alone, but also, just this round he had 4 poor shots turn into gold while some of his closest competitors had great shots turn into bogeys. That is how disc golf goes, but in the many rounds I’ve watched this season, Gannon has certainly seemed to have a bit more fortunate results from poor throws than any other player

    Hole 13 is IMO one of the hardest, if not the hardest hole in all of disc golf to get a feel for when watching on coverage. It feels like the guys are throwing chip shot hyzer drives. Ganon isn't even throwing driver, Calvin looks like he's putting 50% power at most into his throw. How far is it actually to that landing zone? To me, the tee shot is the boring shot on that hole as a viewer. Is it crazy to suggest moving it back 50 or 75 feet. Like I get it, if its windy its different, but the drive on these calm days seems like a boring formality with the luck of whether you get behind a tree or not, exactly the sort of thing I don't like in the sport.

    Whats up with Gannon setting his marker for his first shot on 10, realizing there was a branch in his way then moving his marker after he already set it? How is that legal?

    • @nathangirardmusic
      @nathangirardmusic Місяць тому +2

      Since he was OB on the prior stroke, he was able to set it anywhere within the 1 meter relief

    • @0004332
      @0004332 Місяць тому

      He was not OB on the prior stroke. It’s just that you are allowed to take a meter off of OB line if you want to. So he could go from his lie or from a meter off because he landed so close to OB.

    • @jacobjohnson6649
      @jacobjohnson6649 Місяць тому +1

      @@0004332 that is not my point. I understand you are able to take a meter from ob. My point is he already put his marker down to mark his position then took a step back looked at his shot then picked up his marker and moved it to a better position. Since when can you move your position once it's been marked?

    • @NickCarroll
      @NickCarroll Місяць тому +2

      @@jacobjohnson6649 you can move it up to the point you throw, within your allotted time. Generally it's a fixed position so that's not going to happen, but when putting it up to meter out, or a meter in any direction once OB, you have leeway to reposition it.

    Sick of Buhr. Making pro tour not enjoyable to watch.
    And I agree with Paul, OB shots need to be penalized by something like a re tee, they are rewarded Out of Bound shots with a par putt.
    Fix it pro tour!

    As someone who has never really watched sports, I have to say that watching Gannon dominate (or anyone else for that matter) is really dull. I feel a little conflicted tbh, it’s amazing to see how good he has become (it’s always cool to see someone do something they are really good at, mastery is intoxicating) but it’s reminding me of how boring it is to watch some go into the last round with a huge lead ( i can remember watching a lot of tournaments in which Paul mcbeth was clearly going to win, and I usually just skipped watching the last round).

    Hole 10 Buhr was not lucky. He threw a forehand so his disc was moving left to right and he barely went o.b. left. The previous drive (Klein) was moving left to right and went out right (so he missed on the wrong side). The one before that (Heimburg) would have eventually come back left but it was too far out. Buhr knew how to miss and that is why it seems like the better you are the luckier you are. Or like @justbrowsing5279 said "Luck is the residue of design."
