I do love this in the bag video but people have been doing these types of in the bag videos where they actually throw the disc after talking about them for a couple of years now.
@@hiddenleaf414 I see what you are saying, but there is more to this video than talk and throw. The prediction of flight and real time attempt showing his knowledge of each disc was fun to watch. So while, the talk and throw has been done before, this style was very different.
Love that you decided to throw discs, explain the flight and what to expect when you throw them. Very well done Simon. Good luck in your next tournaments!
Only been playing since April '23 but I'm a major information junkie and love learning new skills. When my friend convinced me to throw a round I quickly noticed two things - I was addicted and I had ALOT to learn. Before I knew who anyone was in the disc golf world I quickly gravitated to your videos because of the sincere love and almost child like enjoyment of the sport that you [unknowingly?] convey in them. Fast forward to Idlewild 2024 and I watched you and others be real people with real struggles doing your best to compete and entertain at the same time, while being endlessly scrutinized by us spectators. I think it's hugely understated the skill involved in performing with these pressures and still maintaining ones composure within reason. A person can throw far, can throw accurately, but to do that with any level of consistancy in the pro arena is an additional skill all its own. Bravo! I was fortunate enough to hang out with a guest you invited to to round 3, after dinner the night before. I learned that my admiration for your professionalism and down-to-earth realism were well founded. Meeting you and seeing your reaction to the shirt I made for myself with your logo made my whole weekend. Thank you.
I really like your approach to the bag overall. I'm nearing a year into disc golf, trying to get my bag sorted out and starting looking at things as needing 3 discs in each disc range (Over, Under, Straight). I want to have the ability to change discs out and not be constantly "seasoning" new discs into the slots I need. Really you just have your one dimension that flies dramatically different from anything I could go buy from the store. Great video Simon, thanks for sharing!
im sure he has but, like he has said, hex is one of his favourite discs of all time. makes no sense for him to change that one, and also like he has said, he likes to keep it simple so he wont add another disc between his more stable hex and the pyro
I may need one. I'm good when I throw straight or hyzer with hex, but If I try to turn it mine does not seem to want to fade back. Sounds like I could put a Reactor on ani and have it come back better. (or "skill issue")
My favorite part is Simon talking how far from the pin he is 😂 “we’re closer to 200 right now. Let’s move back 80ft. Ok, we moved back 60ft.. we’re atleast 320 now, right?”
Neutron TimeLapse was such an anomaly, it burned over on forehand, but wouldnt flip on backhand. The Fission TimeLapse absolutely bombs. What a nice run. Hopefully MVP can repeat the same flight with the next run, but i bought three just in case.
You really know how to make even in the bag video really good, not just talking but showing the flight of the discs also. Big fan from Finland good luck for the rest of the season!
My favorite throwing putter used to be Westside discs maiden in the vip plastic, but I had two of them stolen from me, so it was time for a new disc altogether. The day I went out looking was the day you dropped your first video throwing the proxy, so I thought I would give it a try based on how you described the feel of the disc. I ended up getting an eclipse max weight proxy, and it's quickly become my most reliable disc inside of 260'. I recently had my longest throw-in from just outside of 200' the other day with the proxy on a blind righty backhand with flat release to slight anhyzer drift and it held the turn all the way into the basket. Further solidifying that discs spot in my bag. The Envy is too touchy for what I would call an overstable putter. But I've only tried electron firm and the eclipse plastics. Some others may be more stable, but I'm sure someone else knows.
From the very first time you threw that trail I have been checking my local shop for one and I finally got one shipped and I can't wait to go out this weekend and throw it!
I've recently started trying out mvp/axiom/streamline discs. Mostly streamline. Im seriously in love with the brand now, lol. I had some PTO today, so I drove an hour to visit a store that has a bunch of mvp/axiom/some streamline. I spent 200 bucks lmao. I touched a hex, and it was just absolutely perfect in my hand no shit. Back hand and side arm. I run an echo and runway as it is, so it's the perfect addition. I don't need three mids, but its staying in the bag lol. I like the low speed fairways that streamline make. I can flip them right out of the box, so I grabbed an ascend and drift. I got two of the shift when it dropped. Got a parachute and a glitch that are battling for my touch approach disc. Im going to order a stabilizer and a pilot tonight I think. I have a couple different destroyers that I like for my drivers, but id really like to get my hands on a trace or something. I don't know if I'm strong enough for the mvp/axiom drivers but I'll find out next summer. Sorry. I have no one else to talk to about all this. I started playing in June. Im pumped and wanted to dump so I'm here. Thanks simon. Love watching you play
Very nice guy met him at idlewild took his time before tee to try to get everyone autographs and then stayed long after his round to make sure he met everyone he couldn’t get to. Wished more guys were like this
In case anyone is looking for a Pixel to Judge comparison: I tried Pixels because all my Judges were worn and the numbers tell the story pretty well. Very very similar and just a touch more straight.
Still trying to figure out the Trail ... it is a really great straight flier both forehand and backhand. Just trying to figure how it works for me with various winds. As for the fission Time Lapse ... such a great disc at 163g where the neutron is just a wind beater. Love seeing bag videos where I can understand what does what for the pro so I can compare and understand what a mold I don't carry might do for me!
I throw just like Simon... Cowell... LOVE my Poxiez.. Got about 5, Soft Cosmic, Fission, Plasma, glow.. Special thanx to DFx! (Great rear shoulder flex shots) OMG My Tesla (Board flat Lab 2nd swamp find cosmic fission?) is my Swiss Army Knife... and it's standout trick,, it is the GOD of 1pm forearm near landed rollers. 280ft straight on average ground. Then there's my Sarah Hokom Crave, A turquoise 2024 Ice Bowl Glitch, a Fission Wave, and I overdisc with a plasma Catalyst that gives me 330ft dead straight & low. (at 55 I don't think i'm going much beyond that tho I can now do that standing still). Maybe one day when I'm rich I'll get some Simon line fills to top off the bag... Eeerm, Simon, kind of need you to come back to Estonia. The pixel you signed for me at the Edgf, I may have lost it to a lake.. Spent like a good 30 minutes fishing for it but it's a goner.. But man did it fly nice.

Love my Myahem for forehand flex shots, the Rhythm is an awesome fairway for my arm speed AND I've had good results with the Pixel this year. @@whyroaderif it’s a straight shot at the basket up to 180, I throw them straight at it. They just stay straight. The ace was on just a 100 foot hole but I had to put it thru a stand of trees thru a very small gap between two of them.

The pixel is by far my favorite putter, and I am lately getting pretty darn good out to 45 feet. Switched from Nomad, Judge before that.
As a beginner i would love to see you make a video where you build a bag for a beginner. But not just the standard 3 disc bag for beginners like maybe someone who is like 6 months or more in to disc golf.
