    I have watched countless forehand videos. None of them made sense or helped. I can tell just by watching this now, that I'll be able to translate this to the real thing. Silver is one of hell of a teacher.

      I agree both of them are using a more forwarded style to The target. Lots of amateurs throw their body sideways. Its way harder. Try have the disc and elbow kinda infront of you then turn your body abit in the last step.

    Interesting tip on the understable to stable. Of course, this has been a tip for beginners and AM's on the backhand. Never really thought about the forehand; it makes sense because the FH is so much more angle sensitive.

    • @Shagula420
      @Shagula420 2 місяці тому

      Also with the higher torque and lower spin rate, overstable is much more forgiving with a forehand. Once you can release them smoothly, understable discs are really fun and can get you a little more distance.

    I've been taking note of Silvers Forehand since watching him and Kristin at 2024 Worlds double competition. I swear he could hunt with that forehand!. It's so compact and rips out.
    keep it out to the right and not behind the back and foot forward has me a lot already. Stay on plane in follow through. The split finger does feel better and you can widen the split the closer you get to basket. Great video Jonathan! Now Terry Miller is going onto the black market with the tips:)

    My recommendations for forehand if interested in Westside Discs are Adder, Boatman, Longbowman, and Harp.
    I have played forhand dominant for years. Westside makes my favorite discs. Regardless of my bag, these discs will always be in it and are my primary go-to, with Longbowman being my favorite, especially if you have lower arm speed.

      First disc that comes to mind when talking about Westside Discs and Forehands is AHTI. I've tried Firebird 9 speed clones, but nothing comes close to ahti's feel, flat top and super reliable finish. ps IMO Adder is way too overstable to get any distance.

    • @richc5825
      @richc5825 Місяць тому +1

      I can't describe the anhyzer well enough, but the wobble is either bad release or, more likely, not enough arm speed. I'm 59 and I throw 12-14 speed discs about 350'-375' without wobble. I use 2 finger stacked, not split, grip.

Ive been throwing only forehand for over a year and have struggled until i got this disc. Just keep it low and it flies straight as an arrow.
    This disc has allowed me to focus on improving form while still getting a great drive out of my imperfections regardless. Ide love to find more discs like it.

    These throwing technique videos are great, however they mostly seem to be done over a day. I think giving them a bit more time would increase their depth and usefulness. For example, training and coming back to a technique a few times over the course of a month or two.
    Also the mythical arm speed is a thing everyone always mentions, along with a mountain of tips on correct form. But as a beginner, what is really the best way to increase speed? I feel trying to implement 10 different tips on form just makes throwing really stiff, unnatural and slow. What is really the best way to learn? Are there any exercises outside of the field we can do, etc?
