I'm putting this comment here because I struggled for two days trying to remove my crank pulley bolt. HOLY COW! This impact and socket combination and it came off like it was nothing, instantly. 1. Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1/2" High Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Kit 2967-22 2. Lisle 77060 17mm Harmonic Balancer Socket That bolt was a nightmare.
I wish I had saw your video years ago when I did my Geo timing belt because the tensioner threw my timing off one tooth and my poor car about died till I had time to fix it the next week
Nice work, are you willing to work with my 1991acty?, did you forget about the water pump or you have a new one installed recently? Thanks for your time.
at 8:39 when you are checking the timing, the "UP" stamp on the cam pulley is pointing down, away from the top of the engine. The manual has it at the top of the engine. Did you address this later?
The UP doesn’t matter if top or bottom since the camshaft spins 1/2 the times of the crank. So I just line up the 2 lines that meet with the deck for the valve cover (these lines will be in the same spot if UP is up or down) for the camshaft gear.
@@jdmgems perfect! i have my HH3 apart now doing the timing belt and alternator repalcement . my plastic cover at the bottom near the water pump has alot of oil stains, but i cant find any videos on doing these seals!
Hey Patrick I have a 1994 Honda at the truck and I was cruising down the road running good and all of a sudden that vehicle cut out on me and I’m guessing it could be a timing or something I’m not sure but do you have any idea what to look into before I tear things apart
@@jdmgems Thanks for replying back to me yeah it’s a Honda activity truck that’s what I meant to say sorry it turns over but it doesn’t crank it feels like a timing issue I’m just not sure and a lot of people out here in Hawaii don’t work on those trucks neither do I lol
Any suggestions on how to get the engine to stay at TDC, when I turn counterclockwise and get the TDC mark aligned, when I take my wrench off the crank bolt, the engine turns clockwise 3 or four teeth, everytime.
@@jdmgems thanks, with the original timing belt on, when I turn to TDC, and let go of the pressure from the wrench, the cam and crank spin back 90 degrees. I can never get the TDC to line up without holding everything in place. Have you ever experienced that with a E07a engine?
Lol no just a cute fun part at the end. Because anytime any video is posted there’s always going to be critics. Even with something as simple as wrapping up wires.

That bolt was a nightmare.
Was for me too. I gave up and managed to do the job without taking it off.
Thank you for the video! Just changed out mine and you were a huge help 🙏🏻
Hi Patrick, I would like you to make a video of how you change the head gasket of the Honda Acty , I have a Honda Acty 1998
Thanks man with all the videos out there this is supreme. Many thanks.
Thanks Jonathan! Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see done. If we have the vehicle in stock we'll make the video.

thank you jdm gems 👍👍👍👍
Excellent how-to video. Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! Can you make one on how to replace the clutch as well??
Very well done video!
Hola, sube un vídeo de los síntomas y fallas de la transmisión manual de la Honda Acty y cómo se repara....😊😊😊😊😊😊

Sorry to hear that!
Thanks for making the video

Hi Alex! Yes we'd be happy to work on your Acty. Message us on instagram @jdm_gems_imports or email us at jdmgems@outlook.com for more information.

can you do a crankshaft seal and cam seal replacement video please?
🤔 That’s a good video idea. We have an Acty we might be able to to do a video on for you soon. Subscribe and we’ll keep you posted!

Hi Spanky,
I would check the ignition and timing belt. Those are typically the culprits with what you are describing.

I move the gear about 2 teeth off TDC to make up for the tension the tensioner puts on after installing timing belt.

@@jdmgems got it, I took plugs out and it reduced enough pressure to allow the cam to stay at TDC
I could probably do it myself, but that’s a lot of unscrewing and screwing back in…not to mention the importance of lining up the arrows…🤷🏻♂️😂
Do you know what year this Acty is?
The video is of a 1992 Honda Street
But would be the steps for a 1988-1999 Honda Acty or Street
Is it 60K or 80K ?
Typical replacement of timing belt is every 100k kilometers or 60k miles
You’re putting the wire away wrong?
