After my dealer replaced it today (for the last time, now that I know how easy it is) they let some debris fall into the fan which gave my fan a low rumbling sound and a burning smell. Thanks to this video I was able to access and remove the debris. Problem solved! Love these kinds of UA-cam videos that show people like me how to do simple things--that initially aren't simple at all when you have no clue what to do or where to start. Thank you.
@@utahredrock1 yep!! most of the time it's quite easy because mechanics need to be able to access and replace these things fairly easily themselves. With some research and time, you can certainly do this and much more!! I love the face that my video helped you!! Best wishes, please subscribe and share thx
true...it's all a cost saving measure...but I truly believe that if a manufacturer actually tried..they could develop an interior that looks good, function, and be of a higher quality. Some companies do it better than others for sure. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for posting this! So helpful! We were just quoted $75.00 from Subaru dealership for both filters. I wonder if their replacements are carbon? You mentioned you had just finished ionizing or de-ionizing the car. Does car have that feature, or do you have an independent unit? Would you mind posting which unit you prefer? Thank you!
Hello, Thanks for viewing the video! I would personally not purchase an in cabin filter from a dealer as the ones you can get 3rd party are usually much less expensive. You can get one from a local auto part store like NAPA or Advanced, etc. and it's carbon and good quality. In terms of the ozone generator to remove smells in a car. I have a video I'll send to you. It's all about the science behind it and It's got the unit I used. It's from Amazon.
“Ozone” (O3) kills germs and bacteria that cause smells and is why people use it to clean nasty interiors. It will kill you too, if you surround yourself with it. I prefer an aerosol can as I can “fill” the car and shut the door and leave it for a few hours. Those generators can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.
it would be very helpful if you could take the actual measurements l x w x d because my exp. online shopping each filter is a dif part number good vid though! thanks
Thanks for kind words. The dimensions for the filter I used are mentioned In the description of the Amazon post. 8.51"L x 1.15"W x 7.29"Thick. Good luck
Holy shit, thank you so much. My dealership was trying to sell me replacements for 118. So much easier.
Rock on. Easy peasy man. No issues. Just take your time.

At 1:58, those little ears on the bottom clips are designed to be squeezed in and the door pops out.
Thanks for the video. Not surprised at the cheap plastic. That’s just our world today.
