    This was very helpful. Although, I couldn't help but wonder if these steps were all done in the right order. For example, shouldn't polarity and alignment be done before anything else? I suppose it's the apps fault for not listing the stages in a logical order.

    • @michelakadoner2590
      @michelakadoner2590 2 роки тому

      In the app, in the explanation for the EQ-Recommendation-tool it says, that you should use the level meter and the alignment first. Don't know about the polarity, but I'd assume that using the tools in the order they are listed in the app (which they did in the video) should be fine

    wouldn't your phone need to have a calibrated mic? if the frequency response of the phones mic isn't totally flat, wouldn't that skew the results? am I missing something?

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  2 роки тому +1

      Some people flip their speakers upside down to help their ears be in the sweet-spot, also to stop the woofer from being central (height-wise) in the room.
      You could try this, or alternatively you can get a tilting monitor stand, or wedge-shaped foam to help angle your speakers down.

    What would you prefer klipsch 600m or these krk ROKIT 8 g 4s for music listening ?

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  5 років тому +1

      We don't have experience with the Klipsch 600ms but at a glance, they are fundamentally very different from the Rokits. The Rokits are designed to be studio monitors, arguably favouring electronic music. The Klipsch are however HiFi speakers, designed for enjoyable listening to a variety of music with a more interesting sound. They will not have the same bottom end as the Rokits however, such is often the nature of HiFi speakers, so if you are listening to more bass-intensive music, Rokits will be the way to go.

    If the microphone that the app uses is the mic of a smartphone... I don't think the measurements will be good...

    Last time you guys checked, which contemporary phones have a *headphone* jack? How are you supposed to easily connect a USB-C phone in your signal chain? KRK should make a desktop app, or have audio files for download so you can play them through your monitors and use your phone to measure. Otherwise it's all for nothing :(

      It's true that headphone jacks are increasingly uncommon on phones. This can be a hurdle but you can always get a USB-C to mini jack adapter for your phone.

      @@GetintheMix of course you can get cables, adspters etc. You can always spend money and do something to work around something that is poorly thought in the first place...
      But, really, having the audio files availabe to download would be user friendly, cheap and thoughtfull. If you have a line to KRK you could maybe suggest that?

      Use a split balanced xlr male to a 3.5 aux cable for plugging into your computer or if u are djing use split balanced xlr male to split male rca cable or just a split Male xlr to split male xlr cable if you have a balanced input in your dj controller. Hope this helped

    The KRK Audio Tools App for Android doesn't work on Android 10. This has turned into an Apple exclusive.
