If you know how to sail, you don't need pilots. Tugs for what? Tugs are for big vessel that have bad maneuver ability. Pilots is for narrow water passage or canals. What you see here is people who have money and no sailing skills at all. I sail singlehanded my boat 32 feet, 7 ton in and out of the harbour and dock by myself.
I like the ones where the captain gets the boat very close, and the others just sit there watching the dock. Nobody moves. No lines ready. Captain overboard...
This is what makes the Bentz Boats so nice. I roll in there with duel throttles, the option of dropping a bucket and having one engine in reverse makes this little current a non-event.
I'm glad they only have to dock, cuz if it waz to screw a light bulb? It will literally be catastrophic. The cap with the Yamaha 225, waz the only one that made it, 8.5/10 👍🏻 And 0/10 when it comes to courtesy at this ramp.
I hate fighting the current but you have to drive for conditions. I'm glad I just keep my boat in a slip at the marina and avoid the cluster - - - - at the boat ramps. But, when I go to the ramps to use the pump out station, inevitably you have to deal with the credit card captains (weekenders)
Seems like how so many people there that own boats, they would know how to dock their boats, current, no current, wind, no wind, hi tide, low tide! Of course I’ve thought about drivers be the same but, and that’s a BIG BUT, I got shot out of the saddle on that one too!!
I just don't understand, in this conditions, throw and secure a line from the bow, turn the steering wheel all the way to starboard and go astern. The boat will walk itself in without effort.
Makes me wonder why so many unlearned people own boats! They should all have to take a boat handing course! They do this every time! When there is a current tobdeal with the captain or should I say owner should explain docking to his passengers. Makes it better for the many that know the procedure!
$35,000 for boat and trailer? Check. $60,000 for truck to pull boat on trailer? Check. Thousands of dollars spent for fuel? Check. $200 for boat fenders to help prevent damage? All that money?! NO EFFEN WAY! ARE YOU CRAZY?!
Seems like often (or sometimes) the captains do pretty well getting the boat to the dock. Then has about 10 seconds before wind and current push them out of alignment. Full crew standing around - no lines or bumpers prepped to tie up quickly. Still the capts fault - have to train that crew.
These boaters are struggling more with the fact that they left their motors trimmed up in the cruising position when approaching the dock than the current… the boat tends to go where you point it regardless of the current if you it have trimmed down to actually be able to steer it at low speeds…
The boat with the dancing girl had illegals on the back. The girl was to take your eyes off the two guys in the back that where told you where filming and to keep there heads down. They did not even lift them when they where trying to dock.
I think that day I helped a guy that the strap on the trailer broke and the boat was going backwards by itself and jumped to his boat and the guy was swimming trying to catch the boat, that was kind of scary. 😅
Why do everyone there need to tie their boat onto the dock? Just drop off someone to go get the truck and trailer and come back to load up. Simple as that.
Where was the damage that your title says occurred? Tapping a dock a tiny bit does not really count as damage. I've been watching your videos for a long time, but I really dislike misleading titles.
What's with all the people docking and tying off? Drop off a person to get the trailer and back it in, and then drive the boat right onto the trailer; done within 2 minutes regardless of wind and current.
These are almost too hard to watch. It seems like most of these people don’t have basic boat handling skills. They don’t understand which way to turn the wheel while in reverse to move the bow to the stern. It’s frustrating to watch. It’s also frustrating to watch when everyone gets on one side of the boat and then the captain has trouble maneuvering the boat. I know everyone has to learn but you can stop your boat put in the channel and see what the wind and or the current is doing to your boat and then make your approach plan. Only takes a minute to do that and at least you have an idea what to expect.
The nimrod show. These people don't have a clue. Docking with an adverse wind and or current can be easy if you know what you are doing as explained by others below.
Nudge it a little.... the vast majority of these guys and the 600 horsepower behemoths on the stern, and the captains leaving the helm,,,, They make me want to stray 40 miles offshore,, as far away as I can get. Docklines out and cleated and coiled? Bumpers preset,, people with deck shoes on and ready to go? Its hard to watch. I routinely have singled handed a sailboat. These guys just don't get it.
Gonna have to drive down there sometime with drinks and snacks just to enjoy the show!😅
Docking is so easy secure a bow line point prop at the dock shift motor into reverse and idle the stern to the dock and tie it off
HAH, you beat me to it, but... EXACTLY!
It's amazing how many people aren't even ready with lines and fenders
I can't believe they handle these huge vessels without the assistance of Pilots and Tugs. Especially in these terrible conditions. Hats off.

@@robina.jensen6114 I was joking!!!!
Great vid! People are so weird and impatient
I like the ones where the captain gets the boat very close, and the others just sit there watching the dock. Nobody moves. No lines ready. Captain overboard...
In the current, do the stern line first and then use the motor to bring you into the dock.
Was going to make the same comment! Most all the “issues” would’ve been resolved, with stern line first.
1:15 was a nice diversion, but did anyone even notice the guy dock just about perfectly in the background?
entire crew with heads buried in cell phones while cap is struggling all by himself. Rule: no cell use on boat, lift your head up and enjoy life.
maybe they are enjoying life. not everyone likes the same shit
I thought they were passed out...which I envied...
😄
@@christrotter3052 me too lol
You must be a blast to hang out with
Yes, you don't need your cellphone while sailing. Enjoy the surroundings instead or stay home in the couch!

First-time I've seen a Jet Drive out smoke a 2 Stroke
That Yamaha LS2000 is a 2 stroke
That Yamaha is a 2 stroke, and I bet they removed the oil unit and just premix.

These are the most stressful videos, why do I keep watching? must be for the boats.

most people's problem is they can't comprehend something that steers from the rear

1:22 - Whats with the guy in the white bandanna? Is he completely wasted? 😂
I wouldn't call.them captains.....maybe carnival ride attendants
There’s a dozen UA-cam videos on how to lasso a piling. One bow, one stern or mid cleat if you have one. Save all that jumping around.
1:24 It looks like the two in the back or being held hostage
Are you even boating if there isn’t at least one knock down drag out fight?
Awesome videos dude, but I can't subscribe until you teach me how to launch my 45' boat from my Toyota Prius. Let me know when. Thanks !!
You did not address the huge trawler cruising by? 8:23
Are fenders illegal at black point or something 😂?

Biggest problem is they aim for the end of the dock instead of half way up the dock
I saw ONE boat with fenders out. LOL
1:29 I would not dare start using my phone while docking (if I even took one, it would be in a dry bag until I was docked and onshore.)
Seems like often (or sometimes) the captains do pretty well getting the boat to the dock. Then has about 10 seconds before wind and current push them out of alignment. Full crew standing around - no lines or bumpers prepped to tie up quickly. Still the capts fault - have to train that crew.
yeah, staggering how nobody looks at where the motor is pointing, talk about making hard work of things

Those people are wasted and passed out in the back of that CC??

Seriously what is with the impatience docks are full and people coming in are crowding those trying to dock back off.
Boat dock IQ test.
That girl never even looked up from her phone to see if help was needed.
I think that day I helped a guy that the strap on the trailer broke and the boat was going backwards by itself and jumped to his boat and the guy was swimming trying to catch the boat, that was kind of scary. 😅
no one uses the mid-cleat.

I’ve got $250K for a boat. But not enough for fenders and ties. 🤡😂
Madness no idea how to moor a boat no Mooring lines ready no idea what the wind and Tide. Are doing
What's the point of this channel? Breaking balls of boaters who are docking in tricky conditions? Lighten up Francis.
