In some cases if they do drop the tailgate they will continue to jackknife the trailer and then the tailgate will be damaged by the post on top of the front trailer wheel.
This truck not only has a camera in the tailgate, you get a top down view of the truck on the display so there's no need to drop the tailgate. Also, there's a cover over the bed making dropping the gate pointless without taking all that off. On top of all that, I'm pretty sure that truck has a trailer-assist 'app' that makes backing up trailers easy if you take the time to set it up.
Watch your side mirrors, make small corrections if you see the trailer, and hold the bottom of your steering wheel so your brain doesn't get confused. Turn right, and the trailer goes right. Hold the top of the steering wheel and it's the opposite.
@@robertheinkel6225 Wow, You're making it real hard on yourself. When backing a trailer, I put my left hand at 6:00 and move the hand the way you want the end of the trailer to go. Many a time, just a slight amount is needed before you put your hand back in the 6 : 00 position. Captain Keith
It seems the more compatent the captain is, the less they fight with the other boaters. Lots of easy solutions when both parties know what they are doing. Even on busy days.
I purchased a magnetic wi-fi reversing camera and put it on the tailgate, and it made it easier to connect up the large trailer, than had to back it out and back in again, also has night vision but hard to see each side of the trailer as I couldn't put it on the rear of the trailer because it's aluminium (need to bolt a steel plate onto the trailer) so hopefully next time it's easier, only can use side mirrors but when it's dark you can't see much out of them even with the windows down, sometimes you need to adapt technology to help you, hopefully it won't fail me 😂
I just figured it out up north we don't have this drama we put the boat at the front of the dock and push the boat over to the trailer leaving the other end of the dock open for the next guy like at a gas station
The guy with the jet ski trailer - dropping the tail gate isn't going to do any good unless he's able to remove the truck bed cover. I would recommend trailer guides.
You always say to drop the tailgate. He has a camera on the tailgate. These people don't know their left from their right. Tailgate up, down or completely gone they still won't get it done.
The guy in the white truck has a back-up camera AND he had a female sitting in the passenger seat. Why didn't he kick her out the truck and give him some directional assistance.
Best instruction I ever got was hold the wheel at the bottom, then move your hand to the direction you want the trailer tail to go. Easy!
I'm a retired fishing guide. When I was trailering I took my tailgate off. Sometimes it would be off for weeks.

Put a long marker on either side so you can see.
Those f150 have a great backup cam. This guy just can't back a trailer lol
So does my F- escape
Most new vehicles do, but you're absolutely right. He can't back it up with all the technology and cameras. There's no reason not to be able to
Slice of Life. Texters boat

Come on now, are you really expecting them to know left from right ? 😏
I have never held the bottom of the steering wheel when backing a trailer. Then again, I grew up on a farm backing anything and everything.

I am amazed by the amount of people that want to fight the wind and current when the other dock is open.

Its always a the best move to put all the weight in the bow of the boat.

1st half of the video on the guy with the js trailer and you cut him off before loading?! 😮
One piece of conduit with a couple of stainless bolts high enough to see the direction $5 bucks
Been there done that, moving the trailer by the bunks that is. Its all good till one or both bunks come off in your hand! Yer day just went to shit.

The smaller the trailer the harder it is to back up.
Backup camera?
They built courtesy docks at Boynton, use them.
2:25 Dropping the gait wont do you any good for as the bed cover is in the way.
Girlfriend/wife looks pissed
No...i cant watch that .
Going to wait for next time

It takes practice. We’ve all been there.
So ridiculously simple. Drop off the trailer driver then back out and get out of the way

My goodness his hot honey, no help. Couldn’t get off her phone
Boat ramps are a clown show.
Pathetic
BACKUP TIP: Put one hand at the bottom of the wheel and turn the wheel the way you want the trailer to go. NO BRAINER
