There is always something so intimate and delicate about his tunes. The perfect blend of atmospheric and futurism, so characteristic from the early days of dnb/jungle. No over production, no oversaturated and overcompressed sounds. Just pure music and imagination. Big up to you J Laze wherever you are
This is what DnB should sound like imo, drum and bass mixed well together with a soothing atmosphere. J-Laze's style is very elementary but that is by no means a bad thing.
I started listening to this kind of music in 1990 - on my FM radio as a 14 yr old. Started going out at 17, for the next 25 years :) Now 47, have 2 kids, but always loved the music - CANNOT BELIEVE I've never heard of this guy. Thanks for putting this up, really appreciate it. Let's keep this music alive :)
@ as LTJ says “it’s all a matter of opinion”. That track is one generally accepted as proto DNB. There are others. But to be controversial: listen to NWA’s “Straight Outta Compton” amen break all over the gaffe
I dont know why it's so hard for the uploader to do this themselves, and I'm not talking to 4AM Breaks, I mean ANY uploader who doesnt bother with it. They made the video for Christ sake. They can look at the timeline and jot down the timestamps for each song immediately, like within the time span of waiting for the video to get done uploading.
Great idea with this mix. There's one tune from J Laze which I love the most, it's called Memoryz - it gives me eargasm everytime. Unfortunately unreleased or at least I can't find any info
Reading about the superconductor news, relaxing with some USDA Hemp, coding and this is in the background. I actually feel like the future is coming back. It's so on.
your channel and other channels that upload these 90s gems are the only things i look for in youtube these days if you have found any good ones write them here please

For artists similar in vibe to J-laze, check out: Nu-Moon, Pariah, Alex DB. There are a couple comps from the early 2000s that have similar vibes: STUDIO-X X10, Studio-X, and Studio-X2 on Good Looking Records. Two Revolutions by Blame, on 720 Degrees. And one of my favorites for this kind of early 2000s sound: Roller Coaster III / Late Night Expressions on Triple Vision Records.
yo, do you have a higher-quality version of this mix available to download anywhere? i’d love to record this to minidisc, but youtube’s audio quality isn’t the greatest.
now all i need is a good woman to build a future with and chill to this type of music and create good memories and a family and a good future.. anyone interested?:)
Just want to be lost in these 3D landscapes with the music emanating from the atmosphere.

Wait, the first ever DnB song came out in 1991...

@@XxSanderMLGamerXx btw - what do you consider the first DnB 'song'..?
@bluejackmedia We Are I.E. (1991) was the first DnB song, but there also was some techno song from 1990 that used an amen break, forgot it's name.
