I've been using Worldbox for a while. The pixelated style is great for coming up with interesting shapes for the landmasses.
Just changing a few pixels can give a completely different look to the land, and there are a lot of tools that help randomizing stuff.
I used to play worldbox. I uninstalled yesterday lol. Try building a world map from Minecraft lol. Itll be hard but itll look cool
Why did you uninstall it?
I just didnt use it anymore. The day this came out I reinstalled it
There programs and plugins for minecraft that builders use to make huge custom maps
Haha I remember when WorldBox looked like this, there is 8 biome types; Swamp, Enchanted, Savannah, Wasteland created by acid/nukes, Corrupted, Infernal, Jungle, Grasslands, Mushroom) all with their own animals/effects and now with 4 more on the way hopefully by April, not to mention updates to the building sprites and boats and other stuff
WORLDBOX GANG STAND UP!!!
I often use World Box for map or name ideas :D
I love to build maps is WorldBox but mostly I use it to watch history of world. It's giving inspiration for my world. Some times there are very interesting history there))
Hey I used this game to make my first rough shape of my home brew map
Looks great!
Not sure if this is due to where I live (Sweden), or if Microsoft has changed something in the past 3+ weeks, but when I went to download the "Image Composite Editor" you used, the page told me: "We're sorry, this download is no longer available."
I compared the url I used to the one in your video, and it was identical. Just wanted to make you aware of it, just in case Microsoft has permanently removed the download for it for everyone.
Edit: Oh and forgot to say... great video! I enjoyed it a lot. Think I saved links to most of the programs or sites you mentioned using in the video. XD
Very cool. Its like maps on old rpg games.
Yes! I always use worldbox to visualize maps!
Ok, there is a lot of things I have problems of, blurring in pixel art is one thing, curving text and not drawing in a more pixelized resolution is another. Lospec is a great platform to use when you're starting in pixel art and gives features like palettes, tutorials, and suggested apps to use and download. This is a good map, but I was expecting more if a pixelated look and not something pixel-like.
Fair critique.
Oh the game he has in the thumbnail is super fun
it's called world box
Ik
Me and my son play this game all the time. I think you did an amazing job 👏
Sorry nate that I am a bit late. I always love you videos. By the way I did actually get the core rulebooks for D&D 5 E over christmas.
The adventure starts where the players are falling in a pit deep into the ground (An idea i got from one of your videos) where the dind vampires and vampire spawns. They escape the dungeon and go back to there town Arelon. By the time they get there Arelon has a new mayor. Silcore a vampire. The people in the town often go mad and its up to the players to defeat silcore.
Sounds fun!
I love that game too. You know you can make it so u can see the boarders and u can speed up time.
I have world box and is fantastic for fantasy worlds
I'd love if you did another video on this game! There has been alot updates
Nice.
@@WASD20 even more updates since then
I'm a PixelArtist and it's fine, buck could use some pixelart rules to polish it. Anyway, it's cool!
This is what I'm looking for
Nice!
Ooh i saw a Minecraft Suggestion. I agree. Love the map!
you're a world class youtuber!
You are my favorite toilet channel by far and that means a lot!
Can you please do a tutorial on traveling with a map in dnd
nice
Marmoset HEXELS!
Looks great and we're can I buy the d&d book
I recently started up an old campaign I stowed away, and decided to hand draw the maps which was a first cuz all my other campaigns didn't have maps I think they turned out ok, I'm no artist but I just want my players to see where they are and the surrounding area, most of my games have lot's of improv in them so I can tailor the experience to my players. Are there any map making apps or games, etc; that you recommend that are cheap and make good maps
First been watching ur channel for a very long time! Great work. If you like pixel art maps mabye make minecraft maps. I can help you if you want! :)
pame ligo oi ellines ! :P
nice , wouldnt it also be possible to use rpg maker for it?
Hey Nate, love your video! You inspired me to draw fantasy maps myself. But I find it difficult to find suitable fonts for labeling my towns, rivers etc. Do you have any suggestions for medieval/fantasy fonts that are great for maps? (Not specifically pixel art maps) I would love to hear your answer! Greetings from Germany.
One of my favorites is called IM Double Fell Pica
@@WASD20 Thanks a lot!
I feel like people underestimate how powerful paint.net can be with a good mod suite. it's no photoshop, but you could've done everything you did in this video with it.
Ey you finally found it i found that app a few days ago and i was about to suggest to your next vid but your next vid is it so yeah
You should’ve made a gigantic map it would’ve given you more room
Yeah, I just feel like when you get that big you lose the "pixels". It just becomes a map, and I wanted to retain the look of the pixelated art.
Me and my group mainly plays pathfinder and I've noticed you mainly talk about D&D 5e do you have any vids on pathfinder or plan on making some or do you know any other youtubers that have those things
Is there anyway for you to crique a map without sending through discord? I don't have it & don't really want to get it, but I would still like pointers
I'd suggest reddit or Facebook groups. There are some good ones. Sadly, I don't have the time to critique everyone's maps. Full time teacher, dad, youtuber. :)
There are probably some Reddits out there
r/mapmaking on Reddit has always been a great place for getting feedback on maps
Mother of Lugi this was a good map
yesssssssssss
