Didn't even know this place existed and I live about 15 mins from it! I'm so tired of crappy lumber selection at local big box stores. Would love to shop local! Can't wait to go check it out.

Hey, i live in New York City, i'm going to be driving to North Indiana next weekend. The best part is that I will be stopping in Toledo to check out this place. I hope the prices are better than here in NY

I happened to be in Toledo back in October or so and picked up a few boards at Kencraft. Nice place, I wish there was such a place in Columbus.

On an unrelated note, I heard you say on the podcast that you use carpet because your back and feet hurt. Take a look at 'anti fatigue' mats, they may help you out a little :)
I'd rather work with purple heart than hickory. Granted purple heart dulls your blades really quick but man it's sexy when it's finished. Great Saturday video. Thought it was Tuesday for a sec.

I wish we had a lumber supplier like that here in Oklahoma City. We have a couple different ones but nothing with that quality and selection.

John Sabarese I have gone there. They have a good selection but I would like to have 1 place that has a wide selection. As I do custom furniture and I don't always work with the same material. Right now I have to go to 4-5 different places.

wish we had something like this in the UK near me, only hardwoods i can get is oak, mahogany, ash and iroko. Would love to use purple heart or cocobolo and more exotic woods
You should do a video on why you don't enjoy working with Purple Heart. I've been thinking about making a laminate body guitar with Purple Heart as the wood for accent strips, to make the body pop a little more. Will it be a nightmare?

Kencraft is the BEST! I try to get there at least twice a month and buy some stuff even if I don't need it. I'd be crushed if they ever closed.
After watching the video, I just bought some wood online from Kencraft. It was about half the price of some online competitors!

Looks like Kencraft is a Disney land for wood workers! Hey I saw your video about your past. So you're a sound engineer? I'm a production rigger, brother your not a typical sound guy. There's a old running joke,"What does a sound man use for birth control or contraception ?

I've been wanting to do it for a few years. My skills are well rounded from Building sets and I worked with the biggest show ever, The Lion King. I was responsible for a massive 20 ton hydraulic stage that raked from downstage to upstage 5', Automation out the wazzu, a 50 ton Rig in the air.Thats the biggest show but I've done many others that rival it.My point is, Damn if I'm not intimidated by the thought of starting a business that could fail. It's either that or I'm stuck on doing something that's safe. I gotta say, I'm totally inspired by you and people like Jimmy Diresta and others.
Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your take on things. Maybe I'll take the leap.
