Nissan needed to keep either the Maxima or the Altima, there are people that still want a sedan. This is a big mistake. Honda and Toyota understand that.

The Altima is gorgeous in the green with the bronze wheels.
I drove a brand new 2024 Nissan Altima SR Premium that was over $34,000.00 and was AWD and in the Gray Sky Pearl. The same day I test drove my new 2023 Nissan Kicks SR Premium as the 2024 for the Altimas came out much earlier than the 2024 Kicks. Anyway my Kicks SR Premium stickered for $26,130.00 and the Altima SR Premium stickered for over $34,000.00. However the Altima was missing Adaptive Cruise, 360 Surround View Cameras, No LED Taillights, No Heated Steering Wheel, No LED Fog Lights, No Digital Auto Climate Control, No Bose Audio System, No Driver Seat Headrest Speakers, and so on. Now the things it did have that my Kicks did not was a Sunroof, Wireless Charger Pad, AWD, Larger 12 Inch Touch Screen But it was to straight up and close, and a Power Driver Seat. However the additional features that the Kicks had like the Heated Steering Wheel, Adaptive Cruise, 360 Surround View Cameras, and LED Taillights were more important to me. I did not need AWD, I do not use a Sunroof cause its to hot in the Summer here, I do not need a power seat because I set it once and there it stays, so I could not justify the additional $8,000.00 for what the Altima was lacking and all though it was gorgeous it sat extremely low and was very hard to get up and out of. The 2023 Kicks SR with Premium Package was a steal at $26,130.00 MSRP.

I own a 23 Altima SR Premium AWD in sky grey pearl (Canadian spec). Got it in 2024 as a certified pre-owned with only 11k km. I love this vehicle. I traded in my 2020 Corolla SE for it and the space, comfort and value (when slightly used) is insane. Of course there's a few things that really do annoy me about it like any other car would. I don't like the tan headliner, lack of ventilated seats, flat bottom steering wheel (a perfect circle is easier to use - sure the flat bottom looks nice), transmission isn't the best in cold weather and the fuel economy in the city with awd is not the greatest - averaging about 23 mpg city. It's excellent on the highway though. I also notice a lot more fit and finish issues compared to Toyota, like panel gaps and creaks. But there are a TON of excellent things that don't make me miss the Toyota. The sound deadening is excellent - dual paned windows makes the cabin incredibly quiet. Huge 12" display for the premium model, BOSE audio system, the zero gravity seats are the most comfortable seats I've sat in, AWD, and the space - even though less on paper, feels more spacious than the 2023 Camry in the real world. Reliability of the CVT was the only concern I had about this vehicle, but I was told by a Nissan tech (not the one working at the dealership I bought it from), that the Altima is actually the most reliable vehicle in the lineup and they hardly have any that come in for warranty work. I've got the extended warranty just in case anyways, but I really love this car and wish people would give sedans a chance. I must admit, the car could seriously use at least 20-30 more hp/torque.

Maxima was the sport sedan, Altima was a smaller sporty sedan, slotted between Civic/Corolla and Accord/Camry. Instead they grew the Altima to almost the same size as the Maxima, which was a niche car for them.

My parts manager at O'Reilly's told me that over 50 percent of the stores parts inventory was for the Altima, 2007' to 2018 If I remember correctly. They're zoomy but you gotta keep them up on maintenance period.

I’ve had 3 Nissans; 2002 Maxima, 2006 Altima SE-R and 2011 SR. I’ll miss the Nissans but l do love my new Audi A5 SB

I used to own Nissan Laurel Altima in middle east, back in 90s. It had inline 6 with manual transmission. Wish Nissan brings that car back as a substitute to Altima and Maxima.

The CVT in Nissan Altimas ruined Nissan reputation for being reliable cars since the 90’s 😞

My employer had me work out of state several times and I had two rental cars with that piano black shiny parts on the interior both rental cars had low mileage and the piano black parts specifically the ones on the shifter were scratched extremely hard to ignore one was a jeep the other one was a Nissan rogue . I can’t imagine what it would look like 5 10 years down the line when both vehicles were not even a year old .

Having had a Maxima 3.5 V6 in the 2000s, damn Nissan is really struggling. Glad I left the brand when they brought CVTs.

They could’ve done so much more with this to make it extremely competitive, but it never quite meets the mark. Mostly because they’re not wanting to keep it around, which is unfortunate.

I guess Nissan decided to let Kia and Hyundai take over the affordable sedan arena. I heard there CFO said they have less the 14 months to survive without an investor. 😮

I like the Altima, I never really owned one because since 2007, they have CVTs, and I don’t like those, but these days literally every car has that now. It’s sad to see it go, same other the Malibu. This car look nice 👍 farewell Altima. Maybe it will come back as a EV or something.

Altima was always a competitive sedan. Very comfortable. At $29K for an SR, that’s decent value. Nissan is making a mistake eliminating the midsize sedan. This is an attractive car.

From a Toyota haters mouth I'll say this....The new Camry is completely masculine inside. And so quick off its feet. The nimble handling had my Uber driver in complete control.........Nissan Infiniti is still my favorite tho. Toyota can't compete with Nissans style and standard features.

I think the reviews where you're at a car show and can't go on throttle shouldn't attempt to measure the car you're looking at with any other.

Anyone want to argue?..Sooooo many Nissan Models are on the road. So many models. They can drive 200k easy. People never feel a need to upgrade their Nissan Infiniti Cars because they are actually reliable and the designs last so long ahead of other brands. Loveeeee Nissan
