It would probably help if you also removed the oscillating mechanism off the rear and dripped oil into the rear bearing as well, although many times there's grease on the screw that interfaces with the oscilating gears so try to resist the instinct to grab the shaft and turn it from that end only turn the shaft from the front to work the oil in so you don't disturb the grease, I like to use straight SAE30 in a little needle applicator bottle I got cheap from the craft store.
Bro no need to open plastics cover when you are not oiling most inner part, tilt to apply on the shaft to let it flow in. Use engine oil. WD40 will wash away the grease
I thought same til i realized the fkr was teachin folk that speak like u did first without questioning why... Some guy or girl that like u lacks an inquisitive problem solving approach.. Might not have put together that showin the shaft is always best practice with ur fans...
Use engine oil, works best. I used other lubricant oil, wd40, sewing machine oil, it doesnt solve low speed noise. Engine oil works best and no more low speed noise
It seems to me that (other than cleaning) you don't need to take it apart further than 0:10 and as someone said, to really oil it, you need to take apart to get to the bushing on the other end.
Guys I have done ✅ and pl use any type of automobile lubricant and not the domestic cooking/coconut oil. Now it's with 2 drop the fan is running without any noise
I used rust remover. But now the axe is really slow. I think it s dust piling with the liquid. Do some one have a better alternative? Engine oil really works fine? Should it be better some sort of gel lubricant for engine?
I have several of these I have to maintain and sometimes they are quite a bother! I sometimes have to open the motor and oil the inner parts of the shaft to get it free and running again. The rear white vinyl plastic oscillator piece can be removed to get at the rear inner bushing for oiling. And sometimes I have had to de-gum the bushings even because the fan slows down in a day or two. That way I don't recommend Coconut oil as it might gum up the bushing. Use motor oil. Once I sent it out to a guy due to tightening only after overnight, several times! He slightly enlarged the bushing using a drill bit with his hand only. It worked for months afterward. Even grease didn't keep it free before. These motors need real bearings for trouble-free long operation but they only come with bushings.
I used lithium grease, but i suaully take it apart.. clean both ends and apply grease on both ends. this time it was the rear part that jammed it up.. basically last another couple years with constant use
Rear bushing is on the other side. It's equally important (you already removed the cover and removed the dust and grime). Swing mechanism also loves some light oil 👍😉
i recently puchased a pedestal fan and when running for long time there is strong paint like smell comming from there is there any fault in product . i used for 2-3 hours after assembling still the smell has not gone
I have had this type of fan with the same motor for almost 30 years and now for the past three years it has started giving me problem. Needs constant oiling. Sewing machine oil is useless. I oil both front and rear bushings.
not really, if you do it just like that it will smell like 🐷🐽, you have to open the motor and remove all grease nad dust mix, then you use the right grease not oil
@@kevinmioto2248 Last year I used silicone spray as it was the only thing I had in home. I don't think it was ideal as I needed to do it again this year. Now I used sewing machine oil.
@@musicviews9328 Oh, okay. So what happened? Any issues? If nothing, that'll be great! A tip for you. Let's say you cut out a new key for a keyhole, and it's too hard to enter, put a little coconut oil on the key and after sometime the oil helps to wear to the share of the keyhole. That's the way to use coconut oil as a DIY. :) Not for these mechanical motors and all. It wears out the machine parts. :)
In this video I used sewing machine oil
Tell me the science of why gun oil wouldnt work better while smelling amazing???
Used engine oil. The whole fix took less than five minutes and now the annoying noise I’ve been listening to for MONTHS is finally gone. Thank you!

Great guide! Bought a bottle of lubricating oil, followed the steps and the noise was fixed!
Great to hear!

Even if u use rust remover works perfectly fine

Also you can literally spray it toward the middle of the fan from outside the grate. That will work too. Literally bought two years doing that.

Singer oil ok?
Ok
Bhai maine apni car ka engine oil daal dia he..Kyuki sewing machine oil nehi he mere pass..
Is using a cooking oil instead of machine oil work? I currently dont have machine oil rn
No it will damage the fan
No, the cooking oil will damage the fan and also cause it to burn up

Can i use vehciles mobil
Thank you🥰
Whenever I clean my fans, I always take off the back, brush or blow away all of the dust and then apply some WD40....
Thanks man 👍🏼

Coconut oil de sakte hai kya?
Coconut oil maybe but it might gum up and cause problems after a while. Use engine (mineral) oil.
Is silicone spray good for this?
also want to know

@@Aranimda yeah maybe something more thick will hold better
It helped me alot
Can I use WD-40 to spray instead of using sewing machine oil?
No wd40 isn't meant for something like a fan motor. You need proper oil.
Just used WD-40 on mine. Not only the rattling was gone, but the airflow has drastically improved.
It will work for a little bit, but WD-40 isn't very heavy duty. A thicker oil like 3-in-one motor works better.
no I used it on mine. It worked but didn't last a week.
Same here. Silicone spray worked better but engine oil should be the best lubricant for this case
You really don't have to take it apart this much bcuz oil seeps into the tightest of spaces
Usually they advice to use grease than oil for its longitivity
Can I use kitchen cooking oil
Yes
Please Don't! Kitchen oil specially Coconut oil wears the parts. Use the correct oils.
