I think you can work on thumbnails a bit more, adding pics of the delicious food or an expressive face trying to eat Pani Puri etc. Right now the thumbnails are quite off. The videos are great otherwise
What you are eating is Bhel. For it to be Bhel Puri, you should have Puri that serves as a spoon to eat the Bhel. At the end of your meal, you eat the Puri.
Bhel is puffed rice actually. And you were right it's just a deconstruction of lots of things...usually contains lots of onions, haldiram mix (the ones you tried in your snack videos), coriander, chilli, lime juice, etc. It's a very popular street food in India and in some parts of India people actually have it with tea! Hope this info helped ! 😀
I wonder what will happen when you eventually go to India at the rate you love the food which is a great thing it will become your new home because every corner and every street there's amazing food in India no matter where you are
In bhel Puri is Mumbai dish. In it puffed rice, chopped - boiled potato, tomato, onion, cilantro, bit raw mango, lemon juice for tanginess and green chilli is added. A savery salty sev and Puri (made from chickpea flour) is also added for texture. Then green spicy chutney, brown sweet chutney, red garlic chilli chutney are added and mixed. Bhel Puri shud taste sweet, spicy, bit tangy. I think this is Delhi version of Mumbai bhel Puri. Coz I see they added roasted chana Dal and all.
Try Misal Pav , Pav Bhaji , Tava Pulao next . If you haven’t tried them before . That would atleast complete some of the most delicious Mumbai’s street foods . 👍🤤
Snack Master General. The most important thing to note about Bhelpuri is that you should not order it. The puffed-rice gets soggy and the whole texture is gone. You have it eat right after it is prepared, that is standing by the road side. Give it a one more try when you can see it being prepared right in front of you. Also, best time to eat: between 4 PM to 9 PM.
Vadapav is Mumbai's (also Maharashtra state) on the go snack. In your vadapav, the pav (bread) is different from the local one. Local one very soft and has neutral taste. These McD type breads are bit sweeter. Also vadapav is mostly given not baked pav after putting vada. As it is invented for people wanting a quick on the go type snack given the fast life of Mumbai. Infact it was invented by one Mr Vaidya as a fast and cheap snack for mill workers of Mumbai.
Bhel puri is one the most favorite street food snacks of indians!!! It tastes best when you have it freshly made otherwise it gets soggy.. u get the best vada pav in maharashtra!!
Actual street food looks really different. At least from what I can see. You definitely have to come to India and try out Vada Pav, Bhel Puri and various other dishes. The Bhel Puri is definitely totally different from what I see on the video. That is not how Bhel Puri is like in India. 😂 You won't know what Indian food truly is like until you visit India and try it here! 😌
When you roam around in the streets of Mumbai you will find a Vada Pav stall every 100 - 150 mts, even if you are not hungry you will be tempted to have one only by the tempting smell of the Vada Pav.
You need to travel to India like for Vada pav bhel Puri, pav bhaji travel to mumbai, for biryani Hyderabad, Misal pav- Kolhapur, Pune , for chole bhature, butter chicken- Delhi, for Paani Puri you have to travel many places every place has different taste.for Parathe, lassi, any dhaba food- Punjab, south india-Dosa, idli, many more . Add it to your bucket list You'll never regret it for sure.
So proud of you for pouring the raita on top lol. I agree with you on the boneless aspect. I still miss boneless mutton Hyderabadi biryani from Bahar restaurant in Hyderabad. Barely anyone on the east coast (especially NYC and NJ) makes the good stuff. Most are just mailing it in cuz they have their regulars.
Try these type of video in your old way..!! Like with your daughter... You did indian snacks videos.... And same type of thumbnail in landscape.... People gonna love that again ❤
that seems like an Indian who started this outlet up after some work-ex at a local Mcdonald's trying to wing it as an Indian streetfood place hahahaha!! The pav is very different from that bun and that yellow mustard sauce isnt what is usually used! Bhel is usually made from puffed rice and all kinds of veggies and fruits (raw mango and pomegranates for instance) all of the dishes look very factory outlet-ish! Glad that it wasnt a disaster though
@@SnackInvestigationUnit hahaha you guys have to make a trip soon! Dont worry about the food not being authentic...it is what it is trying to get food from another country! But if you do want to check out how different it is, there is this couple from Texas - Follow me I'm Foodie India - who fell in love in Indian food in the US and eventually made the trip to India :)
In vada Pav . The Pav is used it's very soft and chewy bread. Here they used bun instead which is bit harder than Pav and sweeter. It won't give same feel. Also in vada pav they put.. depending on client whether he wants spicy or sweet.. spicy green corriyander chutney, tamarind dates brown sweet chutney and dry coconut garlic crumbles are added. I am not sure they put these in it.
Bro you gotta take a trip to India. Metro cities just for food. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Bengaluru. You can spend months here and never finish everything offered. Do it man. You won't be disappointed.
U should search for Pani poori & gol guppe together , coz u might have someone from the north of INDIA selling it & there it's called Gol Guppe & not Pani poori or puchka . They are all slightly different but basically the same. The second dish u had , needs to be eaten asap from it being made , coz it gets soggy since it has the chutney already mixed in . So most street food should be eaten right there ideally . Ask you local Punjabi store owner where u can get good gol guppe in your area. They are the Sikh community of India, wear pleated turbans & usually have beards. Most of them are from India & some are from Pak . So take your pick.
I just hope its available nearby.. btw its all vegetarian dishes... I started following u recently.. and im obsessed with ur channel.. love all ur reaction on indian food... U make me proud of being an indian.. lots of love from india karnataka.. .
Irrespective of whatever you try in LA, and it might be excellent, you have to come to India to have REAL taste of those because nearby environment, water ,air changes the quality of the food you are eating. Watch I am a Foodie channel. The couple has tried it in US and then in India. There reaction while tasting the food in India tells you the difference.
Liked the video. Can you please do a Michelin star restaurants review and try 2 or 3 items there? Please rate them both out of 10. A good description for that video would be: Will things be rated 10 or higher, or possibly include the best food you tried in your life? I know a Michelin star review video would be a ten out of 10. I will thank you for a Michelin review in the comments if you do it.
biryani..first few bytes should go without that riatha/yogurt and then some spoonfuls with lemon juice and then end with raitha.. BTW if you want to have boneless biryani you can aske Special chicken boneless biryani..and with required spice level! Hot breads is a takeout joint like thing..but very renowned chain, they maintain quality. and in them the dosa, idli and this time you can please try somosa chat! thte list is endless.
It’s mad hard to find decent pani puri outside of a pani puri/chaat cart in India. If anyone knows of any, I’m all ears. Still searching since about ‘03.
Chicken on bones have more flavour than boneless chicken, especially they retain flavour even after being cooked on dum. Therefore, with bone chicken should be preferred in biryanis. If you are making biryani without bones ,u r doing it wrong.
You will never enjoy the authentic taste of indian street food sitting in your home. And i can bet that bhel puri has gone preety soft and soggy looking at it. Leave it man , kudos uve tried atleast.
The chicken which comes with bone is more succulent, fatty, juicy and easy to cook. Breasts can get very chewy if cooked for a long time. I sort of prefer thighs in my biryani 😅
Vada Pav will be eaten many more times again in the future. 😋Subscribe to the SIU!!
