Great Video. My 2014 F150 Plati has same issue. Used all OEM parts for resistor, blower motor, Bussman 40A vinyl fuse, and relay and harness is good. Blower stuck on high. Upon removing the blower motor, there was a 1’’ cylinder piece of plastic inside the fan scroll rolling around. Stuck phone camera in there and took pics, but can not see or feel where this piece broke off. When I feel inside where the BM connnects, there is a plastic half moon shape door with 2 pivot points - this rotates about 60-90 degrees to allow airflow. The broken piece has hole/fitting with notches….I am think it is a pivot point for this fan switch speed selector actuator- . Gonna search and come back with deets on what I find.
Thank you for the video. I am not mechanically inclined but was about to get it done because of this video. It was a pain to get the new one in but got it done no more blower motor sounding like a jet taking off lol. No to mention my dealership wanted to charge me $525 for parts & labor smh. I got the part for $170 saved myself $355 that is a lot of money with everything going on in our world today.
I was thinking I may have to take it to the dealership to get it fixed. But this looked somewhat easy. Like u said, be patient. Great video like always.
I just successfully completed this procedure. The aftermarket part works great! She makes it look a lot more easy in the video! I really had to struggle to remove the old part and insert the new part. There is no extra room! The 8 mm ratchet wrench for the far screw was key! Nothing else fit in that space.

The dealership will charge you $400 just to do this. I know because I just had it done to me. Good thing I had a wrap warranty. Dealership mechanics are crooks.
Replaced the switch and the blower motor. Not a technical job but a tight spot to work in. I could not fit under the dash to undo the screws so had my son take care of them. Glad to have AC and heat again. Thanks for the video
Thank you. I watch another video for this and the guy must of removed about a dozen bolts, I did not want to do that. But when he took the blower fan out it had a plastic cap thing in it that he said was probably from the Recirculate door/hinge ... I watched YOUR video, and it showed a much simpler way to remove the fan. THANKS, oh and mine had the same plastic cap thing in it. I don't care about recirculate but NOW the noise/vibration is gone and all is well. Thank you! I purchased a 2010 F150 XL two years ago. Got a great deal on it but always annoyed by a noisy blower fan. Just took it out, cleaned it (plastic wrapper was in there), and put it back. Noise is gone! If it ever goes out I know how to replace it quickly and cost effectively.

Thank you very much for posting this video! My blower was roaring and the shop couldn't fit me in before this weekend's single digit lows set in. I pulled the blower and found what looks like some sort of broken spacer/fastener in the squirrel cage. Put the blower back in and everything works just fine. I'm curious about what that loose piece is, though. Anyway, instead of $250 for parts and labor to replace my blower, I spent just $12 for an 8mm ratchet wrench.
I agree. I was on the F-150 owners forum with this problem (fan making a thump with every revolution). I was quickly educated about the actuator and pieces breaking off and falling into the fan.
My 2011 150 works on 2/3 then shuts off after several seconds.. tried the resistor but still does the same.. 1 doesn’t work.. 4 works for about 10 seconds.. ac air smells weird
Put new front blower motor in 2011 Expedition. Cut 1 x 2 4 and 1/4 inches long and jammed it under motor to support it, both during removal and new install, made it much easier. Also to remove and install, I rotated motor about 180 degrees so vent tube faced towards front of car, to easily get it up into opening, and then turned it back into proper alignment. Put wood support under it and fastened bolts.

For years I called it a hamster wheel which I think sounds better compared to the design but if you don’t learn something new your not doing it right. Great video 👍🏻
Excellent video. Be careful when removing the three 8mm bolts though, and go reverse and forward a few times on your ratchet if they don't want to come out (they get caught in the plastic somehow). I broke the 8mm bolt closest to the fuse box on mine by using an electric ratchet on it at first, trying to get it out in one swing. Now the new blower motor is held in place by 2 screws only, as there isn't room to drill out the broken off / stuck bolt. What a crappy design!
How did you know the blower motor was bad? Mine would intermittently stop blowing but would then come back on a few minutes later and not nothing. This is my guess.
I need a blower motor, and I appreciate the mention at the end about your replacement ones having balanced squirrel cages. Do ALL your blower fans come balanced or only certain models? You have a LOT of blowers available but I don't see any mention of them being balanced or not, and all the pics I clicked on are generic and show none in the blades of the fan.
Omg....I just replaced mine! Such an awkward position to work on. FYI anyone if you pull back the carpet and thermal pad the fan goes up in there easier.
It's winter here and I had my heat on at the second setting. It stopped working while I was driving and now can only get it to push air at the fourth level setting, would this be a blower fan or something else?
My fan would stop working in the last two high settings. I bought a new blower motor resistor first to see if that would fix the issue and it did not. Will be trying to replace the blower motor next:/ hope it fixes my issue!
I have a 2013 F-150 with a very annoying squeak coming from that far passenger air vent. I ONLY hear it when the air is on, and only on fan speeds 1-3. I’m guessing replacing the blower motor would fix this? If the air isn’t on, I never heard a peep. Thanks!
