Blackfishing Shallow to Avoid Current - Plus Albies!

- This blackfish (tautog) jigging trip was a little slow to start with more current than I like, but then a move closer to shore to slower moving water paid off with an excellent catch. Some false albacore also added to the excitement!

As I said in earlier vids, Quick release, no bullshit kissing fish, talking while the fish struggle for H2O, AWESOME JOB John!
"I had one metal lure on the boat. It takes one cast. Here we go..." Albie, in the boat... LEGEND! 😊👍
thank you professor ,always learning from ur experience
Great video as always..ty john
Very informative! thanks!
John Skinner Fishing : Flat calm conditions, gets right on pile, catches fish instantly,
Love all your videos are so informative
The way how you talk and explain very kool..
What an amazing trip. Great blackfish action. You played those fish for fun. Top it off with an albie. Got to get my own boat and do away with the charters and party’s.
love how you kept going for the net and the fish was like "NOPE not today " lol
The “spot lock” on the trolling motor is ingenious. I used it on the Connecticut River on a moving tide and the boat held its position marvelously.
John Skinner doesn’t chase after the Albies, the albies chase after John Skinner.
Love ur videos 👍👍👍
Many golden blackfish down here in south jersey as well. I was told the rust theory also...
Read your books a few years ago John...epic information has made me a great surf fisherman !!! tight lines..
Out of Northport plenty of fish have that golden color which is interesting considering it is west of port Jefferson.
Noticed your hands were a pinkish-red from the cool weather and water. That is a really nice trolling motor.
When I was a kid I caught a 9lbs tautog off of OCM. Great fight and great eating fish.
Great to see you jigging for Tog. It's my favorite way to target blackfish.
It’s cook to see a Long Island based fishing channel, same areas I fish
