Why would the Brits want this awful person to be taken alive to be let out of jail, to then destroy more lives???? How did he get the gun?? Him ending his own life was the best thing he ever did for anyone. Many people have chap childhoods, but they do not terrorise a country in retaliation.
I was wondering if you could cover Ezra McCandless? She killed her boyfriend because she was going through an identity crisis and identified herself as a male and when she decided that she was not wishing to identify as a male any longer, her boyfriend wasn't really about it and then that set her off to make her want to kill him and she carved the word boy into his body.
I feel so bad for Samantha and what happened with his family they very clearly loved each other if Chris was willing to sacrifice himself for her and Samantha probably felt guilty for his death for a long time
I understand where Chris' family came from when not allowing Samantha at his funeral but he obviously had cared deeply for her so it feels wrong to him to not have let her be there to say goodbye.
I feel bad for Raoul's dad. Never getting to meet him, finding out what he was doing on the news, then going to try and help him and probably feeling worse when they told him he was making things worse. It's also crazy how Raoul was saying why does he only care about him now because he was basically told by his mom that his dad didn't care about him, then he ends up doing the same thing to his daughters with their mom.
I personally think it's a little suspicious that Raoul's Dad claims to want him in his life but only shows up at the end..Raoul was an adult, his mom couldn't keep his dad away anymore, his Dad had plenty of time to reconnect if Raoul was open to that. I've seen a lot of absent parents that show up suddenly when the reality of their old age becomes very apparent to them and they want someone around to care or provide for them. There's not enough information for that to be a solid conclusion but I'm just saying it's a little sus that was the moment he chose to make an appearance..
Exactly! He wasn't anti-establishment and cops bc he opposed police brutality or because he opposed goverment and related forces for opressing weaker peopl and idk being unfeeling or corrupt towards those in need. He did it bc he was an entiled(white, cishet) man and couldn't take it that he had to face consequences of his actions. He as an abuser in prision for battering a child. If this woman sees this as alright or something that shouldn't be punished she shouldn't have kids, much less of male gender. She seems like Chris Watts' or Scott Peterons' mother. One that will blame the victim and defend her kid even when they commit murder.
That whole police standoff sounds like an ending scene out of a movie, from the miraculous arrival of the non-existent father to the random appearance of Paul Gascoigne 😭
It's because the whole world had known about him even before he got caught. The hunt headlined the news for 6 days and him appearing live behind news cameras and taunting cops in his Facebook posts (which was active and public throughout the hunt) was wild. Nobody's script could beat that
I can’t even imagine the pain she must feel because of that. His family should tell her it isn’t her fault. He saved her because he loved her. He chose to sacrifice his life for hers, that is not her fault they shouldn’t blame her when he loved her enough to sacrifice his own life.
Agreed. I was banned from my partner's funeral as well. Grief is a terrible thing. I was with him for 11 years and it killed me not to be welcome, but I understand.
The lady who took her children to that guy's funeral and said they should be a role model for her kids should have her kids taken away. That's completely ridiculous. I think it's totally messed up that Sam, who also barely survived herself, wasn't allowed at Chris's funeral. Did they also think it was her fault she was shot? No one is responsible for another adults actions. I bet she already had enough survivors guilt as it was. I feel horrible for her. She couldn't even pay her respects and say goodbye but then to know his family also blamed her.
I completely agree about the mother that idolised him and wanted him as a role model for her kids. They need to be taken as far from her as possible and she needs to be sectioned because only someone that has completely lost it would ever think that was ok, never mind admirable.
Such kind of people like this mother causes people who get violent against other people. This is emotional abuse as it’s finest..social workers should watch the children of her. (Sry for my english) Greeting from Germany
David’s story always stuck with me for some reason. I think naturally we always focus our attention on those killed in such horrific incidents we often don’t realise how drastically survivors lives change, both mentally and physically. Also David’s daughter is such an inspiration running with the torch blindfolded in memory of her father.
Viz David Rathband. It turned out that he had not been the best of husbands. He had had a string of affairs long before the shooting. AFTER the shooting, he left his wife and had an affair with a victim of the 7/7 bombings - the one on the Tavistock Square bus. He lied about the affair, and when his wife found out, she finally wanted the marriage over. As she refused to take him back, he killed himself. So the trauma was not the reason he killed himself.
i tend to be pretty apathetic to the gore of true crime. of course, well well aware that they are awful and vile people and it does disgust me, but i have a really high gore tolerance. empathy however, touches my heart in such a special way. I'm an empath, and the whole video was fine until that, when i started sobbing. That is such a noble thing for her to have done.
I cannot imagine my boyfriend sacrificing his life for me and then his family not letting me pay my respects to him. I understand that they’re hurting but this was not her fault. Heartbreaking story, and I feel like this could’ve been so easily prevented. Love you Eleanor.
@@Christcrusader98 by that logic, everyone in his life is to blame, if he'd been homeschooled? never wouldve died. if they abused their son? he never wouldve been able to have a healthy relationship and wouldnt have been in the situation. they move to a different country during his childhood? he doesn't die. by that logic, everything everyone in his life did would've set him up to die and they would all carry the blame. they were unbelievably cruel to that poor girl, she was just as grief stricken and deserved closure equally.
David Rathband has always broke my heart. I was in awe of him. His whole life was ripped apart. I remember the day it was announced he had died and I honestly believe the 2 men convicted of attempted murder should have had it changed to murder as they were complicit in the crime that eventually led to a poor man who had everything going for him taking his own life. It really breaks my heart. I hope his family are doing ok and David’s resting in peace ❤️
@@sstarowl there was. Before he was shot, he'd had a string of affairs and didn't treat his wife very well. Afterwards, he moved out, and had an affair with a victim of the 7/7 attack (on the bus). Then he begged his wife to take him back. She wouldn't so he killed himself. Sounds like in a way, he was pretty similar to Moat. Which is very ironic.
@@sstarowl he was arrested for assaulting his wife after the shooting he also had been calling her a lot. I’m not saying i condone it especially not the violence but I can only imagine how much the head trauma affected him and changed him afterwards. I believe living with this and the guilt and how much he had changed and couldn’t cope with his new way of life was a contributing factor to him taking his life.
Imagine courageously sacrificing your life for the one you love only for her to not be allowed to attend your funeral because your family cannot figure out how to process their grief properly. I understand why the family felt the way they did, but surely something could've been done. Chris died for her. She witnessed the event, also physically/mentally suffered from the event, must experience survivors guilt, and is also grieving someone she loves... Cruel of the family, in my opinion.
They're acting as if Chris wasn't a grown ass man who knew perfectly well what he was getting himself into dating her. She was upfront about what she had going on. She probably forewarned him before starting the relationship. He could have backed out at any point and left and said that it was too much for him. But instead, he decided to stay. That's not just on Sam. That's on the grown ass Chris too. Chris wasn't being held against his will. He knew the risk he was putting himself at. And he gave his life to save the woman he loved. No matter how short their relationship ended up being, he loved her. I don't know. If I were in his position, I'd be livid with my family. I'd understand but I'd still be angry at them for it. Neither of them could have ever imaged a roid raged psychopath would do something like this, though. Sam isn't to blame for another person's actions. Especially when she suffered the most, not only having to watch the man she loved die, but to know it was at the hands of someone that was only there because of her, and then to be shot herself and have to deal with all of that physical pain on top of the mental. Not to mention, she was still young and vulnerable after getting out of an abusive relationship. I know grief does crazy things to people, but blaming an innocent person who was also a victim, just isn't right.
Yeah, I don't think they are bad people but you're 100% right. Chris wouldn't have wanted that and should have been hailed as a hero instead of blaming Samantha
You guys are forgetting that he was intoxicated out of his mind and couldn't distinguish a star from a helicopter, much less realize that Moat wasn't a friend of his. 🤦♀️ The sentiment of going towards all that trouble to help a "friend" who you think is going to k*ll themselves is sweet, not that it was misdirected towards Moat.
dude. chris was an absolute legend. he didn't hesitate to protect his GIRLFRIEND, NOT EVEN HIS WIFE, HIS GIRLFRIEND and he died as a cause. then his parents had the AUDACITY to ban her from the funeral ? that's messed up. and the daughter was insanely adorable, and i love her for doing that. it's insane
In an interview, Chris’s mother said about Samantha: “He had just met Sam Stobbart. Moat was paranoid about the police, so telling him that Chris was a police officer just made it even worse. Ten years on, we haven’t heard anything from her. “At the trial [of Moat’s accomplices] she did not look our way, there was nothing. I was expecting her to come up and say ‘I’m sorry’.” After I finished reading that passage, I got upset… to be fair YOU told Samantha flat out not to come near your sons funeral. Do you realize how heartbroken Sam must of been.. do you even realize the pain she must of felt to be turned away by his own family in a time she was just as devastated as them. And then for YOU to tell the news outlet afterwards we haven’t heard anything from her since as in placing BLAME on her… has it ever occurred to you or crossed your mind that Samantha felt shunned by you and your family? Samantha has it in her mind you don’t want anything to do with her. By coming up to you to offer her condolences made it impossible because YOU (Chris’s mother and family) basically shunned her… and you have the audacity to say that shit… shame on you.
I understand that she’s in pain, but obviously she was someone amazing enough to convince Chris to sacrifice himself. It’s not at all her fault, so why would she say sorry? And to complain that she didn’t talk to you after you shunned her is pathetic, she probably didn’t want to upset you. God.
I get where she comes from but like it's kind of conflicting the way she behaves. One one side she clearly blames Sam for her son's death and sees her as responsible for it morally...and tells her she wants nothing to do with her and doesn't wanna see her ect...but at the same time, she still expects her to make contact? To come up to them and express remorse? She can't do both. She can either leave you or keep contact with you. I know Chris's mom is grieving, but after 10 years I think it's long enough to maybe realize that Sam is just respecting the family's wishes and staying away. Bc they wanted her to.
Samantha was made to feel like their mere presence was bad and then to be shamed for not engaging? That's so horrible. Honestly, though it didn't work, I think it was a good idea as any considering how vulnerable abuse victims are after leaving making it seem like Chris was a police officer. It would have occured either way in my opinion. Also it was both of their doing that lie. Poor Samantha
David Rathband was the most heartbreaking part of this case for me. I remember him getting the Pride of Britain award, and I remember that his daughter ran with the olympic torch. I think Raoul took the cowards way out - and he didn't care what he did to his victims. This case sticks in my mind even now.
Viz David Rathband. It turned out that he had not been the best of husbands. He had had a string of affairs long before the shooting. AFTER the shooting, he left his wife and had an affair with a victim of the 7/7 bombings - the one on the Tavistock Square bus. @@the.imprint let's look at the facts, shall we?Chris fabricated his profession and lost his life for a woman he just met for 4 months!! ( not sure it's even 4 months providing that was Raoul's prison sentence) The family supporting her after Chris avoidable death isn't the logical response for that family providing the odds leading to their loved one's demise. I know the family must have warned him prior to his lover's ex's release. I don't blame them for excluding her.
@@FactIsFact100 that’s fine for you, and we all make our own choices. Chris deciding that lying about his career isn’t a reason for the parents to exclude her from the service, nor is Chris not understanding the lengths this abuser would go to. As a mother I find it hard to believe I would even consider excluding the person my child loved. Blaming Chris and Samantha is pretty messed up.
@@SilverHairSimmerMike Tyson once said,"Everyone has a gameplan until they get punched in the face". Everyone has their metric of composure towards a situation....until "that" situation presents itself. I pray nature doesn't test you on your theory. I feel bad for whoever got involved in that mess. Condolences to all families.
The way he brain washed his children is exactly what my dad did to my siblings and I. It's just disgusting and that was surprisingly triggering :c Those poor girls
as someone who also had to deal with their father trying to brainwash them I hope you're okay. I know how hard it is to go through that & I am sending so much love and positivity to you and your siblings xx
It's so abusive and awful because he knew what it felt like to grow up believing his father dgaf about him and then he fabricated that same tragedy for his own kids. What an unthinkably cruel person.
The whole part with Paul gascoine was sad, since he was struggling with an alcohol addiction and was under the influence during all of this but there was something so wholesome about him seeing who he thought was a friend on the news, hearing about how he was threatening to kill himself, and in his drunken state, gathered beers, fishing poles, and blankets so he could go to his friend and comfort him.
I find it ironic that raoul did to his daughters exactly what his mum did to him. She isolated her child from the other parent and lied that his dad didn’t want him. He kept his daughters from their mother and lied to them regarding her. I find all his actions despicable but you have to question why the police didn’t step in when he was chronically lying about his daughters mother. It’s a clear sign that something isn’t right mentally yet they entertained it time and time again to the point of even getting a warrant to search his ex’s house. This could have been prevented by so many people and no one had to die
Paul Gascoigne in this case is like a celebrity guest star who randomly shows up in an episode of a TV show for like 1 scene then is never mentioned again.
As soon as I heard Chris went infront of her, my eyes got teary , even at the end he showed he loved Samatha, and poor Samantha getting blamed for Chris's death😡 it's so sad! Raoul was just an evil man and got out easy!
Completely agree. Silver lining though, is that Chris's sacrifice was not in vain - Samantha lived, so his attempt to save her life was 100% successful. Sometimes we don't even get that.
I got emotional after learning about David’s fate, I kinda guessed it would end the way that it did for him after hearing how much he hated his life after he was blinded, but what his daughter did in light of him absolutely broke me 🥲
The whole Paul Gascoigne story is honestly cute in a strange way. The fact he'd brought all that stuff just thinking he was going to help a friend in distress. Idk I wish someone would bring me some beers and chicken sandwiches.
Right?! Like I understand how horrific it is that all of those people were murdered and Raoul is a proper piece of shit however,,, I was in hysterics when Paul showed up. Like, what a man, that's just so funny to me. He really saw a fucking murderer on screen and was like "Hmm... yeah I think I can talk him down". Dude what
It's so immensely endearing that these are the thoughts that popped into his inebriated mind, not only the caring but also the fact he packed himself a care kit to take with, what a good egg.
I love how respectful and delicate Eleanor is when she cover these stories. As a bipolar person (type 2, wich is the "softer one") who lives in a house full of bipolar people (lol) I can positively say that a bipolar person who doesn't take care of themselves is kind of dangerous to them and other people. Yes, you can be complitely normal but you HAVE to work hard for it and be very responsable about your treatment. It always saddens me when I see these type of cases where if a bipolar person had taken care of their condition it could all be prevented. That's why I advocate for mental health awareness and normalizing treatment. (My first language is spanish so I may be off with my grammar, sorry) Also: please like this comment so Eleanor sees it and looks at a very interesting Chilean case that noone has covered yet: The Hugo Bustamante case.
Her lasts video was not respectful nor delicate - Bianca’s family specifically asked for UA-camrs not to cover her story & yet she did (& is deleting comments telling her she should take it down…)
@@neutrallynonsensical3477 Bianca’s mother (yes, her actual mother, there are interviews and such on her channel) commented on that video saying she appreciated the way Eleanor covered the case, wasn’t upset about it, didn’t ask for it to be taken down, etc. yes Eleanor could’ve looked more into what the family has said about coverage of the case. But Bianca’s mother had no issues with it. It’s okay to hold Eleanor (or anyone) to a certain standard because family/friends have expressed how they want things to be spoken about and handled. But it’s not fair to continue to hold Eleanor (or anyone) to a certain standard, saying it’s what the victim’s family wants, when the victim’s actually family has clearly and plainly said they’re okay with Eleanor’s (or anyones) specific coverage of the case.
@@barbaratapia2282 Yes! omg me too! I’ve been trying to get Eleanor to see my comments about covering this case since last year. I hope she gets to see this one lol.
maybe she shouldnt have told raoul that her new BF was a police officer while he was in prison, knowing raoul already hated the police. dont really blame the GF's parents
@@-xo6883 yeah what we’re not gonna do is blame her. you’re acting like they didn’t mutually agree. he’s an adult who made his own actions and chose to be with her despite knowing her past. the ONLY one to blame was the killer and that’s it. point, blank, period. sam was a victim.
How could the family blame Samantha AT ALL for what Raul did to Chris? She more than likely assumed that Raul would only ever hurt her and would leave Chris alone because Raul would come looking specifically for her, she couldn't have known just how much more unhinged Raul had become during his prison sentence. Chris was a hero, he saved her life. Samantha probably still has alot of trauma from having gone through this whole ordeal, it's devastating to think of Chris's family adding to that trauma by putting their grief on her in the form of blaming her for Chris getting caught in the path of Raul's rath. The last thing someone who had the courage to leave an abusive situation and had their abuser come back to cause them and the people they love harm needs is the family putting any degree of blame on them and not even allowing them to attend the funeral to be able to properly grieve the traumatic events. Chris is a hero, but his family should definitely be ashamed of themselves for treating Samantha the way they did. I fully understand that everybody grieves differently but how they treated her was cold and uncaring. I hope someday they realize how poorly they treated her and can find the courage within themselves to set things right with her. She doesn't deserve to have to carry the burden of guilt for this mad man's actions around.
I really hate when people who kill others kill themselves afterwards because I feel like it's an easier way out for them rather than staying alive and taking responsibility for what they've done. I don't know how people can be so power hungry and narcissitic and think the entire world is all about them. 😕
Gazza appearing out of nowhere with a bunch of chicken while drunk out of his mind will never fail to make me laugh. I'm glad that his drinking issues are better now, but the entire situation is just too funny
i feel so awful for samantha, i understand that chris's family associate her with his death but its just so sad because he sacrificed himself for her and she wasnt even allowed to go to his funneral to pay her respects to her boyfriend :(
This case will always hit different for me. PC Rathband was shot on the roundabout next to my house, there would always be a police car on that roundabout waiting for calls and for the longest time afterwards they stopped doing that, a good few years before they eventually would park there again. Rathband also came to talk at my school after the shooting too. He was really inspirational and honestly it was so sad finding out he was hiding all his pain the whole time. Great video as always!
hi eleanor would you be able to cover a case from Poland, the name of the serial killer was Karol Kot who was dubbed 'the vampire of Krakow', it's quite a brutal case but it's very interesting and I think you would be the perfect person to cover this as I don't think it's a well known case at all however there are English articles. Also thank you for your sensitivity to the victims and their families and the people who watch your videos too.
raoul moat - *convinces his daughters to accuse his ex-girlfriend of hiding in a bush with a gun trying to shoot them* *proceeds to literally hide in a bush armed with a friggin shotgun at 3am* well well well... how the turned have tables
projection at its finest - i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the things he told his daughters (beyond what was said in this video) were things he did himself to his ex-girlfriend. gives me the creeps.
As soon as I heard you say that the officers daughter ran blindfolded with the torch in honor of her father, I burst into tears. What an amazing sentiment.
Dear Eleaonor, I just wanted to say *thank you* .Your videos have been bringing me through being in and out of hospital and having to stay in bed for months due to my basically nonexistent immune system. I have been bingewatching your vids and it's been so interesting. You are _always_ polite and respectful and I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate you and your work. The time and research you put into each and every one of your videos must be insane, not to mention the time it takes to film them. _Thank you, just thank you so much Eleaonor_
So I don’t get triggered easily, but I was “triggered” by the fact that Raoul made Marissa’s and his daughters hate her. I actually went through something similar with my daughters father. Not to that extreme at all, but he would slander me to her and when she was younger, she would believe it because I would refuse to Slander him back or even try to find out from her what he would say because that wasn’t fair to put her in between this juvenile bullshit. I was absolutely miserable as he buddied up with her and they didn’t include me in their little club. She is now 16 and figured out what her dad is like and how everything he told her about me was a lie. He isn’t even in her life now, not because of me, he and she just grew apart and my daughter and I are very close now. She knows that what he did was not cool. I don’t want anything from that man. I don’t get child support or anything. I can take care of my daughter in every way all by myself thank you very much. Women, get these losers out of your life. I stayed for a while because I thought it was best for my daughter to keep her parents together, but later realized that this toxic relationship was what we were modeling for her and that’s not ok.
I actually really needed this video. I got a text from a childhood friends mom today, saying my friend was found passed away in her apartment on tuesday. I'm totally beside myself, so getting an hour break from the crying is seriously needed. Thank you. You really do help people more than you know. And to anyone struggling, please reach out to someone. Ask for help. You are loved.
My husband was also kidnapped by his father against his will. He snuck out a window later that night and called his mom for help from a neighbor's house. Love you and your channel!
i NEVER cry watching any of your videos, but what really got me is when you said David's daughter stepped in for him, and not only did that, but was blindfolded as tribute to her father. That just flooded my heart.
I have never heard about this case (I live in Sweden). This man sounds absolutely terrifying. Thank you for telling this story. May his victims rest in peace.
Just wanna say that I watch a lot of true crime UA-camrs, but very few treat the cases with the same level of respect as you. A lot of times it's easy for us to forget this are real people whose lives were lost or destroyed, and even more who've been affected by it. So really, thank you for treating these cases with dignity and care 😊
i love eleanor sm. she makes me so happy and even though the subjects of these videos are always so upsetting and cruel, it brings me comfort listening to eleanor. shes so nice and shes saved me so many times
Hey Eleanor. I have an Australian case for you. Eric Edgar Cooke also known as The Nedlands Monster. He existed long before my time and the prison he was sent to is no longer a prison and is now a museum and tourist attraction. I've actually seen the place where he was in prison. It would be interesting if you covered it. Thank you.
The family blamed her for him being murdered but the fact that he gave his life to save hers just shows how much he loved her and how good she must have been to him.
The part where the police officer's daughter held the torch blindfolded made me tear up. This was one hell of a rollercoaster ride! Wow! I am emotionally drained. Crazy world we live in!
it's so sad to hear that samantha had found someone who cared about her and knew about the abuse she had faced & wanted to help her, enough to die to protect her, and his family blamed her for it. she was a victim and he wanted to be with her knowing what she had been through. that's so heartbreaking for her :(
Just want to say I have had that exact same nightmare and have had it for many many years off and on. Running from someone (unknown who it is) as a child down the street that I grew up on. Also should mention my childhood was perfectly healthy and happy. No mental illness for me or anyone else in immediate family. Last I checked I’m also not a murderer. I think that nightmare is very common- it’s up there with the whole being naked in public nightmare.
Saying that has made me think and Ive just realized that ive only had like 1 nightmare in my entire life.. and it was so weird. I remember it so clearly and it was me and my family on a motorcycle riding up a mountain and getting eaten by a giant skull??? weird
I'm currently in hospital and was looking for something to watch to keep my mind off things. You have no idea how much you uploading had an impact on our lives.
I'm from Newcastle and I remember when this happened. I was still in school, and one of the girls in my class had the same surname, Moat, and was picked on because of it. They all called Raoul her 'crazy uncle' and stuff like that. Luckily since it happened so close to the summer holidays, everyone kind of forgot about it by the time the next school year rolled over, but it still came up from time to time and I always felt really bad for her. I also find it such a shame that the whole case became kind of a meme because of Gazza showing up, to the point that if anyone is to mention this case even today, the only thing people think about is Gazza and what a weird thing it was for him to show up, and the real tragedy of the actual events - the murder of Chris, debilitating injury and eventual suicide of David, lifelong trauma for Samantha and the other victims of his abuse - are usually forgotten. So thank you for covering this one, I'm happy at least the full story is out there and accessible again after so long.
This case actually left me in tears.. All the families that man had destroyed… how disgusting that people looked up to him. He literally drove someone to suicide after murdering someone else and manipulating others?… May Chris and that poor officer rest in peace.
The moment your voice showed emotion I was met with the realization that no matter how many of these cases you do you’re still human like the rest of us and I’m here for every bit of it ❤❤❤
It is so sad that Samantha couldn’t go to her own boyfriends funeral. I get that the family is thinking that if he hadn’t met her he would be alive, but he sacrificed himself for her. I think that is a huge sign that he loves her, and would want her to be at his funeral
as someone born and raised in newcastle’s west end, who still lives there to this day, and had family in northumberland, im sad to say the west end hasn’t changed. The west end is still quite a traumatic, rough and poor place :/
I'm also born and raised in the Westend. My experience is completely different. I grew up in Fenham where Raoul lived at the time of this and my cousin lived in Rothbury at the time. I don't think the Westend is as bad as it has been made out and I'd say its a nicer place to live than the East Side of Newcastle.
There was a case in Moncton, New Brunswick (Canada) where a male named Justin Bourque targeted and killed RCMP officers. You always do a great job of digging up the details!
I was living in Newcastle at uni when this happened at it was absolutely petrifying. No one knew where he was or where or who he was going to target next. The police were everywhere and the whole city was on edge. I was so relieved when I found out he was dead, I can remember my flat mate and I just bursting into tears.
I remember watching this all over the news whilst I was in labour with my son. Will never forget what happened. Its so so heartbreaking what happened to Chris he was a very brave man, RIP. Xx
David's story is heartbreaking. I'm so emotional it's awful what happened. His daughter is incredible for what she did and honouring him like that. I feel so unbelievably bad for him and his family. he's in a better place now ❤
Wow. I am completely shattered by this story. The moment I heard that David k1lled himself, I started sobbing. So heartbreaking. May all the victims Rest In Peace
You should do the case of the “Sunderland strangler”, also known as Steven grieveson. He’s from my home town and killed 4 young boys and burned there bodies, one of those boys killed was my second cousin. There’s a documentary of it on UA-cam called “serial killer-Steven grievson| uk serial killer”
Eleanor says almost the same things about nord vpn every time they are the sponsors BUT she says it in a way that make me want to listen again as if i never heard it before. Eleanor really have a talent in speaking
I haven’t been on this channel in awhile, mostly because I wasn’t in a mental space to hear gruesome true crime stories, but Eleanor look SO different I can’t tell what it is that different she’s still super gorgeous don’t get me wrong
I remember being on holiday and being glued to the news channels while this went on! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else cover this case- thanks for another video Eleanor 🥰x
The second I saw the title in my head I heard that recording with the dogs barking and him un-aliving himself that was played on the news. I was staying at my dads and we were watching it live on tv. Talk about unlocking a memory you didn’t remember having 😰
I feel so bad for Samantha. I am sure she feels so guilty for Chris's death. And then just knowing that his family blames her for it too, even though the only person to blame is Raoul.
I keep thinking it should be impossible for Elenor to get even more gorgeous but she constantly proves us wrong, stunning as always, love every one of your videos and the frequent uploads recently!
12 years ago so hard to believe, but I remember it like yesterday. Word got around that Moat was in my area and the police were everywhere, it was actually quite worrying. The day the police cornered him (Moat) I was at our local pub one of the bar staff actually turned up the tv where everyone including most the bar staff were watching it.

This is all so sad for everyone involved 😢 What happened to that psycho woman who took her sons to see a crazed killer hoping they would become like him ? Did they remove her kids from her ?
She seriously pissed me off when she thought of Raoul Moat as a good person and a role model, like what the fuck is wrong with that bitch, doesn't she realize that he abused his partners and murdered an innocent person?
Never heard of this case before and I am really disappointed after hearing the ending. That Raoul Moat idiot disgusts me and same with the people who thought of him as a role model and a great guy, what is wrong with them especially the mother who brought her sons to the funeral, she makes me sick.

especially when he saved her by taking that shot shows how much he cared for her :/
exactly. he died to save her life and didn’t think twice about it.
There’s no excuse for not allowing her at his funeral, disgusting
I feel bad for Raoul's dad. Never getting to meet him, finding out what he was doing on the news, then going to try and help him and probably feeling worse when they told him he was making things worse.
It's also crazy how Raoul was saying why does he only care about him now because he was basically told by his mom that his dad didn't care about him, then he ends up doing the same thing to his daughters with their mom.
Raoul should have never being born thats for sure.
Raoul destroyed so many lives, how could anyone look up to this man? That woman who took her kids to his funeral needs a psych assessment.
She doesn't need one for us to know that she is a danger to her kids and completely unhinged tbh.
She needs her kids taken away from her that's for sure!

It's because the whole world had known about him even before he got caught. The hunt headlined the news for 6 days and him appearing live behind news cameras and taunting cops in his Facebook posts (which was active and public throughout the hunt) was wild. Nobody's script could beat that
Samantha’s heart must hurt so much knowing Chris’s family blames her for his death. Just a terrible tragedy from every conceivable angle.
I can’t even imagine the pain she must feel because of that. His family should tell her it isn’t her fault. He saved her because he loved her. He chose to sacrifice his life for hers, that is not her fault they shouldn’t blame her when he loved her enough to sacrifice his own life.

@@sstarowl he was arrested for assaulting his wife after the shooting he also had been calling her a lot. I’m not saying i condone it especially not the violence but I can only imagine how much the head trauma affected him and changed him afterwards.
It also must have really halted her recovery, funerals usually provide so much closure for loved ones and she never had that.
Very cruel and completely innapropriate of the family
It was literally adding to her trauma

I was expecting her to come up and say ‘I’m sorry’.”
After I finished reading that passage, I got upset… to be fair YOU told Samantha flat out not to come near your sons funeral.
She knew him for a matter of weeks, his family knew him all of their lives! There's more to this story than the media have shown.

Really appreciate the animal cruelty warning. A lot of other true crime UA-camrs don't bother to do that.
Makes the story even more sad knowing Samantha was blamed by Chris's parents. As if she doesn't have enough to deal with 💔
YESSS sorry but can we appreciate how much eleanor has posted recently, really keeping us entertained x
I liked how El literally said
"it wasn't illegal, but don't worry! he did many other illegal things"
So tragic all around. But I also let out a gasp when the dad showed up because I was NOT expecting that. And then my jaw DROPPED when Paul showed up.
i love eleanor sm. she makes me so happy and even though the subjects of these videos are always so upsetting and cruel, it brings me comfort listening to eleanor. shes so nice and shes saved me so many times
I hope you’re okay, If you ever need to talk I’m here ❣️
@@lucy-wi9sp thank you so so much omg :(
So excited you are covering this as the murder wasn’t far from my house and it’s always fascinated me
Yl
I'm starting to run out of Eleanor videos ! It's all I listen to while I'm at work xD
Can't wait to have a full listen to this one !
have you checked out stephanie harlowe? her videos are lengthy and good
Check out Emma kenny too, her videos are incredible x
Or molly westbrook, or bailey sarian ❤️ luckily el uploads a lot
Thanks y'all!!

David's daughter truly did the most awesome tribute to her father! It really touched me.
it's so sad to hear that samantha had found someone who cared about her and knew about the abuse she had faced & wanted to help her, enough to die to protect her, and his family blamed her for it. she was a victim and he wanted to be with her knowing what she had been through. that's so heartbreaking for her :(
That’s awful that Chris’ family wouldn’t allow her to say her final goodbye. She was there, she was a VICTIM too. That’s so sad.
I remember it so clearly and it was me and my family on a motorcycle riding up a mountain and getting eaten by a giant skull??? weird
Good for you and?
@@mikehat7652 I already said the “and” and thanks I thought so too! Rude ass.
@mikehat no need to be rude
I'm currently in hospital and was looking for something to watch to keep my mind off things. You have no idea how much you uploading had an impact on our lives.
That's So sweet x
I hope you're feeling better now
Eleanor is a great storyteller for true crime.
"Paul that's a star" I laughed sooo hard 🤣
The end made me cry his daughter is so lovely for doing that.
I remember watching this case on the news. Hard to believe it’s been 12 years
The moment your voice showed emotion I was met with the realization that no matter how many of these cases you do you’re still human like the rest of us and I’m here for every bit of it ❤❤❤
It is so sad that Samantha couldn’t go to her own boyfriends funeral.
I don't think the Westend is as bad as it has been made out and I'd say its a nicer place to live than the East Side of Newcastle.
the adrenaline that goes through my body when i see a new upload is insane 😭
A swiftie in the wild
Xx
*YOUR TIMING IS SPOT ON*
Hi Eleanor! I want to say that i love your videos, and i really appreciate how you bring these cases with so much respect and insight. Thank you ❤️
David's story is heartbreaking.
Mad
I kept waiting for her to mention the irony of him hiding, in a bush, waiting with a gun... just like he lied to police about her doing.
He lied about his first children's mother, not Samantha, hiding in the bushes.
@@claricelyles8398 OH yeah. Still extremely ironic though.
Eleanor says almost the same things about nord vpn every time they are the sponsors BUT she says it in a way that make me want to listen again as if i never heard it before.
Eleanor really have a talent in speaking
Sis, your upload schedule is giving me the serotonin that I need to get through it! Thanks and love from Brazil
I haven’t been on this channel in awhile, mostly because I wasn’t in a mental space to hear gruesome true crime stories, but Eleanor look SO different I can’t tell what it is that different she’s still super gorgeous don’t get me wrong
I'm always amazed at the ability to remember all these details! Great story telling
I remember being on holiday and being glued to the news channels while this went on! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else cover this case- thanks for another video Eleanor 🥰x
literally just finished the Rae Carruth case since I have been skipping on it but thank you for this! perfect for my late night snacking.
Glad those daughters learned the truth eventually and got to have a good relationship with their mother. This case is heartbreaking and insane
I keep thinking it should be impossible for Elenor to get even more gorgeous but she constantly proves us wrong, stunning as always, love every one of your videos and the frequent uploads recently!
Great work Eleanor. This guy infuriates me so much. What a monster.
12 years ago so hard to believe, but I remember it like yesterday. Word got around that Moat was in my area and the police were everywhere, it was actually quite worrying. The day the police cornered him (Moat) I was at our local pub one of the bar staff actually turned up the tv where everyone including most the bar staff were watching it.
this case is insane, like how one man is so dangerous to a whole army and the fact that his father showed up
I remember this whole situation when I was really young and all of the news channels talking about it. It was such a huge thing in the area I live in, I’m glad it’s getting spoken about
This is all so sad for everyone involved 😢
What happened to that psycho woman who took her sons to see a crazed killer hoping they would become like him ? Did they remove her kids from her ?
She seriously pissed me off when she thought of Raoul Moat as a good person and a role model, like what the fuck is wrong with that bitch, doesn't she realize that he abused his partners and murdered an innocent person?
Never heard of this case before and I am really disappointed after hearing the ending.
That Raoul Moat idiot disgusts me and same with the people who thought of him as a role model and a great guy, what is wrong with them especially the mother who brought her sons to the funeral, she makes me sick.
😃
Psychopath types are very manipulative, this is why he was able to have all if these people in his web of BS.
@@claricelyles8398 yes and those people are complete idiots for admiring him.

When I see childhood photos of killers it breaks my heart. They are so sweet and innocent, with bright eyes and smiles, and then one day something inside them flips and they become killers and rapists. One can see the darkness in their eyes in later photos. It truly saddens me.
