Marty. Don’t rush for our sake. Enjoy what you are doing and have fun. That way we have fun too. If it becomes a chore for you, it’s no longer fun for us. Do it for you first and foremost. Love the makeover!
The ONLY Matchbox I owned as a youngster was the Lilac Caddy (I collected Dinky)! It was a "gag" gift from a favourite uncle. Thanks for the trip into my past, and thanks for another terrific restoration!
Dear Marty, there is only one expression in spanish-mexican language that you deserve: Qué bárbaro!!!! You are not a customizer, you are an artist. Congratulations!
We never stop learning. My dad died last year 2 months short of his 84th birthday. I moved the small town where he was living to help him out a few years before. He was an avid cook, as am I. Anyway my point is. I made a couple dishes he had never even heard of before, and loved them.
for cars that are nearly 60 years old, they look amazing! I didn't look as good when I was 60! LOL Nice job Marty. thank you. Hope you are feeling better real soon.
Marty, you may not consider yourself a professional, but I would say you are an absolute master at your craft. By far the best and most enjoyable channel on UA-cam for me.
My favorite makeover not because the others are not exciting as this one because of how you solve the problems you face. I’m really a fan of your restorations and videos thanks for sharing your knowledge . Greetings from Puerto Rico all over the other side of the world, take care my friend ... Jesus González
Marty, you say you’re not a professional and I would have to disagree. Your videos and the work you do on these models are some of the best original restorations that I have come across. I’ve seen most of the videos that you’ve posted and watched several other people try to restore matchbox and hot wheels cars, and I think that the work you do is some of the best I’ve seen if not the best. I would be honored to have one of the models that you have restored. If I had a vintage Leslie I would definitely send it to you to restore. Don’t underestimate yourself and keep on restoring these vintage models for future generations to enjoy.
Hey sir marty... as a 15 year old kid from philippines tries to restores some of these, you did a preetty good job teaching tips... and entertaing the audience while restoring it... have a good day... stay safe...
The way those rear axles are held in place by the car body is so clever, as is the detailed casting. My admiration for those early designers working at Lesney knows no bounds. They were true craftsmen.
Hi Marty, For what it's worth, I think you do a great job. Certainly better than anything I could do. A trip down memory lane every week. A few laughs. It's a real tonic. All the best . T
Marty's Matchbox Makeovers ... it’s funny Marty, that’s always what my dad used to say to me ... you can only do your best son ... all the best Marty. 🙏

You did a fantastic masking of the body for painting the roofs. Think that is the best I have seen in redo videos. Enjoyed the make overs of these Caddies.
Hi Marty, those two were really a challenge. What with the globs of paint everywhere, the manufacturing of the two new tow bars, and working with custom blended metallic paints, you did, as always, a magnificent job. And you are so nice, using items and suggestions from viewers, that more than once have been very disastrous. You're a good man, Marty. Thanks for another entertaining video. Sorry you are under the weather. Hot toddy time. See ya next time.
A man on a galloping horse wouldn’t notice. Love it. I’ve never heard that, before I started watching your videos. I enjoy them so much. I always laugh at your comments during your unboxing videos. Keep it up.
The term I know from many years ago when discussing slight imperfections is " a blind man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice that " ! No offence meant to the visually impaired.
Another good makeover Marty get well soon cause I am looking forward to your unboxing video on Wednesday makes my day seeing what delightful item have being sent to you also weapons of mass finger destruction. 🇬🇧
MMM Sunday morning with a cup ‘o joe. Life is good. I think I see Kevin snoozing in the back seat. Sorry you are feeling under the weather, Marty. Greetings from Los Angeles
Absolutely brilliant, Marty, to solve your paint problems on the windscreens, Scale Coat paint and decal remover. I use it on old built ups from the 1960's and '70s to get the paint off . Most of your paint from back then is testors enamel. I've used it on model kit windows also. No damage. Get a couple bottles, And try it out. Get feeling better mate.
Nice work Marty! For dealing with broken, cracked or damaged transparencies, you could try making replacements yourself by plunge forming or vacuum forming sheets of suitable clear or tinted plastic sheet. For either technique, just use the original moulding to create the shape, by heating the new plastic sheet with a hot air gun or over a stove. Fix the plastic sheet over a plywood template that is cut out to form a slightly loose fit around the lower edge of the old moulding, Fill the old transparency with dental plaster, with a piece of dowel to serve as a handle. Once the right temperature is reached, just push it into the hole in the plywood, wait for the new plastic to cool, then trim to shape. For vacuum forming, you need to also make a perforated chamber which is connected to a vacuum cleaner which is connected to a foot switch, which pulls the hot plastic sheet down over the moulding. It takes practice, but is cost effective and very satisfying to do!
Marty. You always do a terrific job. That washer idea gave me the idea of drilling out a beer bottle cap small enough for the axle to fit through, while leaving enough metal to cover the tire and giving you enough metal to hold on to while grinding the axle. I hope I have this idea when I sober up. Cheers.......
Excellent video! As a dentist, I love to see that you’ve discovered another use for my tools. Regarding the ultrasonic cleaner, yes, use just water in the larger chamber as a means to carry the ultrasonic waves to the smaller chamber holding your parts. Only the smaller chamber needs to have any cleaner in it. We use one like that in my office daily. I’m new to this hobby and can’t wait to try my first!
Sorry Peter, I would love to do one a day, but the production of a video is incredibly time consuming and 1, maybe 2,a week is about my max at the moment as I do have a full time job.
Very nice work, Marty! As I may have mentioned in an earlier comment elsewhere, I really enjoy seeing these models that have been painted by their original owners. They’re not just generic Matchboxes; somebody loved them enough to personalize them, and I find that charming. Keep up the great work!

I particularly enjoy watching your technique improve over the years.
Nice job!

Hey Marty keep it up, even my 18 pound one eyed kitten is now watching as she heard you were making over a CATillac👍😁
That is a gorgeous model, full of character and reminiscent of America at its most potent. You did both models justice.
Never boring Marty, great ideas when masking to spray and seal with top coat.
Those are a couple of classic beauties. Good on ya,mate.
The way those rear axles are held in place by the car body is so clever, as is the detailed casting. My admiration for those early designers working at Lesney knows no bounds. They were true craftsmen.

These turned out fantastic. Another win for you Marty.
Once again artistic efforts of multiple generations come undone. I'm not sure if they would be happy with that!
A man on a galloping horse wouldn’t notice. Love it. I’ve never heard that, before I started watching your videos. I enjoy them so much. I always laugh at your comments during your unboxing videos. Keep it up.

Very nice work, Marty! As I may have mentioned in an earlier comment elsewhere, I really enjoy seeing these models that have been painted by their original owners. They’re not just generic Matchboxes; somebody loved them enough to personalize them, and I find that charming. Keep up the great work!
Gorgeous!!
Hey Marty, I am so happy that you have implemented my tip with the ultrasound device so cool. Greetings from Germany by Ben B
Thanks for the tip Ben!
Your Matchbox restoration cabinet is lucky to hold so many masterpieces!
In soldering, the flow you mentioned is called ":wetting":. You do great work. I'm learning more all the time.
Amazing detailed work. Great job Marty.
Marty, great job on the 2 Cadillac Matchbox models. They look great.
