Fun Fact: This song is essentially a diss track. Someone at one of their shows was giving Pantera the bird 🖕multiple times thru out their set, Vinnie stop and ask guy what his problem was and a bunch of Pantera fans took it upon themselves to give the guy a beatdown. The guy and his family sued Pantera and apparently the guy's father told the lawyers afterwards that he wanted 5 minutes alone with Phil so he could whoop his ass. 😂 And 5 Minutes Alone was Phil's response.
@@SgtPnkks I believe that is correct. I believe the father told the manager just give me 5 minutes alone with that Anselmo guy. The manager said no you don't, because Phil is very interested in boxing. He trained at a youth camp and the gym of a former pro boxer, and also has done a lot of writing on the sport of boxing. Phil would have destroyed the guy.
You have to be very precise and practice your backside off to play songs like "The Sleep" "The Floods" "Still Got The Blues" or pretty much anything else Dime composed with his magic Dean Dimebolt!
~ Slaughtered ~ Suicide Note 1&2 ~ The Sleep 🔥 ~ Mouth for War ~ War Nerve ~ Live in a Hole ~ Hollow Also, check out Phil in DOWN!!! Temptations Wings, Stone the Crow, Bury Me in Smoke & Eyes of the South 🤘🏼
Pantera at their best... nobody incorporates groove into metal better than Pantera. You'll obviously have to do "I'm Broken" next. Similarly great song. Also consider "Mouth For War" off Vulgar Display of Power.... quite possibly their best song. If you're looking for a new band react to Mastodon's Cracke the Skye Album. Best Metal Album of the 21st century.
I don't get the appeal of Pantera. Which makes the suggestion of Mastodon even more surprising to me. Mastodon are awesome, but so very different from this one. The Last Baron on Crack the Skye is one of the most epic songs ever. ... I think i need to go listen to that album now.
@@TheAlja I love both Pantera and Mastodon and I don't think they are worlds apart. I mean if you listen to for example Blood & Thunder or the fast-paced riff on Megalodon they are VERY Pantera-esque. I bet Pantera was a big influence on Mastodon's riffing back then. Now of course they are doing something that's totally different. Pantera was all about the catchy guitar riffs and I love Cowboys from Hell the most because I think it's easily the most melodic album they made. I love these later albums too but on Cowboys Phil was still showing off his high-pitched vocals and I loved his voice back then (even if I usually don't like high-pitched vocals in metal). And The Last Baron is my favorite Mastodon track too.
Hell yes! 5 minutes alone is a real treat. Iconic riffs, and the song is badass. Definitely one of my favorites. If you want a real treat I suggest Floods next.
You'll have to listen to 'F**king Hostile' by Pantera saying that you feel like punching a stranger in the face. Follow that song with 'This Love' by Pantera as well.
This album is a masterpiece. Listen to Strength Beyond Strength, Hard Lines and Sunken Cheeks and Use My Third Arm off of this album. Super heavy. You won’t be disappointed
I fucking love seeing somebody listening to these badass songs for the first time, especially Pantera. And having that same “punch somebody” energy just rush over you like I’m sure all of us did when we first heard it. If you want to hear a kickass live vocal performance from Phil please check out “This Love” from their “Official Live: 101 Proof” album. And definitely check out “Floods” for one of Dimebags most HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL solos. Keep doing what you’re doing. Take care.
Indeed! Its awesome to welcome someone to the fam who gets it, and feels it.....\m/I'm new to watching her, but she's bad ass so far. Wait till she gets to Trendkill.....
Thank you Aileen I really needed this today. Pantera can cure anything, especially depression. Love this song and album alot. I hope all is going well with you. Much love and respect. 🤘❤🙏
I highly recommend listening to the following Pantera songs... The Sleep, Cowboys From Hell, Primal Concrete Sledge, Medicine Man, Psycho Holiday, This Love, Mouth For War, Fucking Hostile, A New Level, Rise, Becoming, Broken, Drag The Waters, Hole In The Sky, Yesterday Don't Mean Shit, Goddamn Electric, Revolution Is My Name, and Cat Scratch Fever. You're welcome. lol!
Love your reaction videos! When you ask for PanterA, you got to check THIS LOVE. It has everything. And it is THE love song. Other songs definitely BECOMING, SLAUGHTERED, A NEW LEVEL and all the great songs the other dudes are recommending…
Oh hell yeah! It's about time young lady, I've been waiting for your reaction to this! Best breakdown ever written in this song. Hope you're going to check out I'm Broken! 🤘😆🤘
Great reaction. Just wanted to suggest a few... "10s", "13 Steps to Nowhere", "Mouth for War", and "By Demons Be Driven" oh and "Floods" (which contains my alltime favorite solo)
Just recently came back to Pantera, and I always come back to them, it’s truly my favorite metal band. There was always a reason that people love them, and a reason why Dimebag was such an influence, and such a beloved person in the metal community. It was so tragic to lose him and then later on in The world his brother. Both of them were such good musicians, and this is one of my favorite songs by them. It just has an in your face attitude but it’s very chunky and the breakdown and solo are just awesome. It’s just a testament to that this album that this song is from went to number one and is pretty much one of the only extreme metal albums to do so. very much a testament to the power of Pantera in their music. I loved watching your reactions to some of the different pieces of the song, especially the rest. I hope to see more reactions from you. You just got a new subscriber here.🤘🤘🤘🤘
Kick ass song! I’ve heard it said a fans dad was pissed at Phil about something and said he wanted just 5 minutes alone with Phil in a room and the dad was told “no you don’t, trust me you really don’t” but a killer song.
Story behind it makes it so much better: Speaking about what the song is about, Pantera's drummer Vinnie Paul said: "The story behind this song is we were opening for Megadeth, and there was a guy that was flipping us off the whole show and so we stopped the show. And I was like, 'Listen, in case you haven't noticed there's 18,000 people who really dig what we're doing. You're the only one doing that stupid shit without even having to egg the crowd on.' Ten guys just jumped the guy and beat the shit out of him. His dad called the manager after all the lawsuits and this and that, and basically said, 'Give me five minutes with that Phil Anselmo guy. I want to whup his ass.' "
This is my lullaby music. I remember being 15 and just out of school having a a Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura and Korn cover band and waiting for the albums to be released so we could add more songs. I saw Panthers open for Black Sabbath, when the original Sabbath got back together for a huge comeback tour. Talk about bathed in volume and they were perfect opening for anticipating Sabbath fans. Dimebag was in best form, laying out the kind of heavy riffs worthy of opening for Tony Iommi. For an incredible trip, take on the extended, Live version of the song Heaven and Hell at Wakken, Dio is immense and Iommi is other worldly, the jam gives me goosebumps. You kill it there young lady, Rock On, it is the way, since 1964 (Beatles on Ed Sullivan) for me, from Alice in Chains to ZZ Top, rock is my way of life. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
It's truly sad how overlooked Rex is. He's a monstrous powerhouse bassist.
Absolutely its fucking tragic honestly all these dudes are legends at what they do but sadly Rex gets no recognition its a crime really
Have you heard Rex’s solo album? It’s soooo damn good 🤘
i agree, pantera wouldnt have been pantera without rex, growing up the first riff i learned was his intro riff for walk
I absolutely love hammering out Rex's riffs.... He's amazing and the groove is soooo smooth. 😊

Who the fuck goes to a Pantera concert just to disrespect them😂 that dude wanted attention so bad.
