You HEARD it!! Many reactors do not hear that bass drop. They aren't just country, and many of their videos are not, either. So many genres they cover, and so many different videos.
Yes, they can do this live. Chance does the mouth harp on the looper so he can save his voice. He says it hurts too much to do it for long periods. And Austin (lead here) joins Adam, the beatboxer, doing the harmonica when live. Tim can go super low for real. And that was Rob (with glasses). They are so good. I saw them live and sitting in the mezzanine and thought I won’t be able to really appreciate Tim from up here -- wrong! His voice goes through you! Good reaction and get well!
When I was young I played harmonica for several years and got quite good at it. Mostly blues but a little country and other genres too. I had a complete set of diatonic harps (one in every key) plus a very nice chromatic harmonica too. In other words, I was _extremely_ familiar with the instrument. When I first heard this performance I was astonished at how accurately Adam's 'harmonica' tone matches the real instrument. NEVER would I have guessed that it was not a harmonica if I hadn't seen him making this sound himself. Blows my mind every time I hear it.
Oh, yeah, he can do that live. And a full drum kit and waves and steel guitar and castanets and just about anything else you can name. You should watch one of his "drum solo" videos to get an idea. I would recommend The Driver next. Or Helplessly Hoping.
AyoJess LOVED THE REACTION! Home Free-"BUTTS MEDLEY" or REMIX is an absolute MUST as it's 5-7 songs mashup from popular artists and Home Free makes it sound so GOOD! As in the title is about BUTTS! The HUMOR is awesome but also shows their talent and will bring a laugh! peace
Yes, they do this live. Both Adam (beatboxer) and Austin (high tenor) do the harmonica solo together. I wouldn't y it sounds exactly like the studio version but it sounds darn good. Keep doing HF and the Home Fries will show up for sure. A few Tim Leads for you: In the Blood What we ain't got Hillbilly Bone And a fun Chance lead: Some Girls Do Fun reaction, thanks
Austin Brown takes his voice to the clouds and then goes up one flight of stairs, Tim Foust takes his voice down to the basement and then goes down one flight of stairs...and the women MELT! Lol
Adam Rupp has a video of a drum solo he does during a live show. They do a hilarious cover of Huey Lewis called “Working for a Living” that really showcases Adam’s “no-monica”, and there are others as well. These five guys can do almost anything in any genre
Live Adam uses a Loop Station to do some of these live so he can do both the drums and other sounds at the same time. After you get used ti Tim's low notes the Fries will send you a few surprises.
This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Hi Dagmar. I see this said very often, but I must tell you respectfully, this song is not done in a bluegrass style. Bluegrass is a very specific type of music, which this isn't. Now, I love the boys of Home Free as much as anyone, but this is more of an old folk style. Bluegrass developed in the 1940s out of string band music. Bluegrass is usually somewhat faster than this, and involves banjos, mandolins, and fiddles. The ur-bluegrass band was Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, from whom the name of the musical genre was taken. Here they are playing "Wayfaring Stranger," which is probably the closest bluegrass song to Home Free's version of "Man of Constant Sorrow": ua-cam.com/video/Qmw0LAiTBoU/v-deo.html. A more standard bluegrass song is "Sally Goodin": ua-cam.com/video/V8OxQpyEI2k/v-deo.html Again, I mean no disrespect, I just wanted to clear things up a bit.
Yes, you will need to brace yourself! I think “Man of Constant Sorrow” is their consummate Song/Video. I've seen them live twice now and I always leave with amazement of how good they sound live! Their catalog is huge with many, many outstanding songs. 50% Pop/Classic's, 30% Country, 15% Inspiring, 5% Goofy Fun, 200% Entertaining, 100% Humble!
Subbed for more HF. Tim is probably the most versatile/adaptable singer I've ever heard ... ever. No matter what genre, style, key it is, he can sing it beautifully. He's like a chameleon. Great reaction! Thanks!
Adam, the beat boxer is a two time world champion at it. Tim has blown the speakers at several of their live performances because of the deep reverb his voice causes.
You need to see the Butts Medley (Remix) by Home Free. You'll love it while laughing your butt off. Adam Rupp will showcase his talent. Along with the others.
I recommend that you listen to They're cover of when a man loves a woman now mind you they did this during lockdown so they were not in the same room when they recorded this
Let me help you with names Austin Brown Tenor 1 Rob Lundquist Tenor 2 Adam Chance Baritone Tim Foust Bass Adam Rupp Beatboxer And we call that the nomonica 😆
I suggest Brothers in Arms!! They do a damn good job with John Meyers In The Blood as well. Their cover of Honey I'm Good is amazing as well. For some funnier stuff, All About That Bass, The Butts Remix and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget!
Yep. Chance does the jaw harp. Adam Rupp can do the harmonia live and does. Austin can do a harmonica as well. He does it pretty well, but not as realistic as Adam. When Adam does those extra sounds live, someone else picks up the beat as several of the guys can beatbox.
Home Free comes from a country background, but having said that, they can do different genres. You should listen there cover of "End of the Road" by Boys to Men. Also, Home Free has a video where Adam Rupp does a drum solo. He does much more than just drums and he is doing it live in the video. Thanks for a great reaction!
As a former marine I love it when you cuss reminds me of boot camp and the way I and my brothers in arms talked to each other every single day when over seas in Iraq 👍🪖🇺🇸
It's known as Mongolian Throat Singing by Chance. Since you're a sucker for Tim's bass, go try his duet on "Misty Mountains" w/ Peter Hollens or HF's "Brothers in Arms". Austin does a heck of a job on Unchained Melody (solo). Don't listen to Mayday for at least 4 or 5 more songs by them.
Please do react more Home Free. I request you play Boys to Men cover, End of the Road. No Harmonica Adam Rupp is a world best beatboxer . If you want he does a great drum solo 2015 red shirt. Live
You've got to listen to this from Adam Rupp the beatboxer Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. He is an alien. lol! Plus the fact that the rest of the group is pretty well versed in beatboxing as well as this live performance shows Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015. Check these two out I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Great reactions. Have a great day.
I'm impressed. You caught several things that other reactors don't catch - at least they don't comment on them. Loved your reaction. You have a new subscriber.
Yup! All voice produced, and yes, they can do it live! The harmonica, and the drum background that you started to Diddy-bop to are made by Adam Rupp, (back row, white shirt,) the Jews Harp humm at the beginning, and the fade-out, at the end is Adam Chance using his double overtone voice. (Mongolian throat singing), to sound like a Jews Harp. …. And Tim’s bass (the sub-harmonics) are known to blow out sound systems. Yah …. They can do it live. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free.
You need to watch them do Boyz 2 Men's End of the Road. After you watch that you will never forget Rob's name again. His voice is butter 🧈... And while I can't say I am an opera aficionado, Rob and Austin do an opera tenor duet that is absolutely stunning. They shouldn't be able to twang and drawl one second and Pavoratti the next. But they nail it. it's shocking how talented they all are.
True they perform mostly country. Try 7 Brodges Road and then Butts Medly. You will need a scoop to get your jaw off the floor. Great reaction and most people miss the additional bass drop. Great job.
I think you would enjoy their song "Country Fried Pop." Adam Rupp, the beatboxer/vocal percussionist, has won a couple of international beatboxing competitions. You need to see them live, if you ever get the chance. It is totally worth it. We saw them last year, and are going again in May if we can get good seats (close to the front). And yes, Adam and Austin BOTH do the harmonica.
I notice a lot of people are saying 'yes he can do it live' but I haven' t seen anyone mentioning his 'drum solo' video from 2015. I'm sure someone mentioned it but just in case, I'm mentioning it now. He's gotten better since then but its a several minute long video of just him going his thing. On the harmonica noises too, in a livesteam someone asked about it and he explained how its done. They clipped that and uploaded it to his personal youtube channel if you're interested.
If you want to see Adam doing the "Nomonica" live as well as all the others beatboxing, you need to check out "9 to 5 Beatbox breakdown". They will blow your mind I guaranty.
A while back you did a reaction to Tim Foust singing 'Stay.' I'm pretty sure you realized it, but if not, this bass singer is that one who also sang the really high part, and all the harmonies on that song. ;-)
Listen to them do a couple of Johnny Cash songs: ring of fire, and Folsom prison blues. Once you’ve done that, you can try their version of the dire straits song, brothers in arms. You’ll get chills. Edit: And for some humor, listen to their Sea Shanty Medley.
Ma’am, I watch a lot of reaction videos. So many reactors get soooo technical. Your reactions are visceral, which is what I believe music is supposed to evoke in us.
That was Chance imitating the Australian Aborigine digeridoo at the beginning and end of this video. Adam might have been doubling the sound at times during the lead-in and ending.
My ATF reaction video is the Butts Medley/Remix. This was done before Chance joined the group and includes a few covers from different artists around the titles theme. Please give us your reaction. Additionally if you are interested in Adams “Nomonica” you need to listen to HFs cover of Ain’t Goin’ Down Till The Sun Comes Up. The low bass part I’m convinced that it was sung by Chance as you see the camera switch to him.
Subbed for Home Free - this is the first time I've seen you reacting to them. I would suggest more songs but I don't know what you've seen so far and I'm way too old and lazy to do research to find out... I've seen them live a few times and as Baby Fry pointed out, Austin assists Adam on the No-monica for this song. They're so much fun to watch! Hope you're able to see them live sometime. Just don't sit anywhere near a subwoofer when Tim's singing... Thanks for the reaction - I'll watch for more!
If you enjoy this style of music, you should check out the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou." Hilarious plot, great music, and an "Odyssey" underplot. Fantastic stuff.
They for sure are a country oriented group....BUT, take a listen to their cover of Boyz II Men's mega hit End of the Road. They're pretty versatile - country, rock, pop, R&B and so on. You're down the rabbit hole now, girl.
I'm impressed. Most reactors don''t catch that after Tim's solo, he drops another octave for the harmony. Good listening.
i actually watched to see if she caught it cuz i realized alot of reactors don't
@@trinimafia001 I always watch for reactors to catch that octave drop - I'm usually disappointed.
So many reactors don't catch that and it disappoints me. So glad other people caught it
Same here. Yay for people paying attention!!
It's actually only about a 4 tone drop, not a full octave...
It's still f'n impressive! 🤠
He absolutely can do this live 🔥🔥🔥
For the last couple of years, Austin often joins Adam Rupp doing the vocal harmonica. Adam seems to be a good teacher.
@@danuttall ❤️❤️
Just heard them live Thursday night - and wow, yes - they can do it live!
You HEARD it!! Many reactors do not hear that bass drop.

I like how they all can beatbox, too
so, out of 5 guys you get 2 sopranos, 5 altos, 5 tenors, 2 basses, 3 beat boxers and with that talent, sky is the limit!!!
And 1 world class whistler. 😅
Did he go even lower?? Yeah he did😳🤣🤣
I'd read it called a "nomonica"
Oh, yeah, he can do that live. And a full drum kit and waves and steel guitar and castanets and just about anything else you can name. You should watch one of his "drum solo" videos to get an idea. I would recommend The Driver next. Or Helplessly Hoping.

You need to wait on Mayday until you’ve reacted to at minimum 10-15 of their songs.
Adam and Tim, well in fact the whole Group of Home Free is out of this world
I am SO PROUD of you, girl, you are one of a few to react to that octave drop that Tim does after his solo. You just earned another subscriber!!

Was I imagining it or did you just have a ‘crisis’ when Tim started? Lol 😆
😅
Golden kudos for catching that octave drop by the bass singer. Only the most astute reactions ever catch that.
They have a cover of boys to men end of the road. Great reaction. 👍
Saw them live, in March, and I'm still recovering! Their videos are impressive, but dadgum, live??? Holy crap!!!
Can you react to Misty Mountain Peter Hollens ft Tim Foust

Have seen them live 5 times. And, yes, they are this good!
I'm impressed...You are only the second reactor who has noticed that Tim drops another octave after his solo!
If you love the bass, might i suggest Home Free doing the Johnny Cash song "Ring of Fire" featuring Avi Kaplan, the bass formerly of Pentatonix.
ive seen so many reactions to this video. Automatic like and sub when the reactor recognizes the lower octave when tim goes lower lol
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
