My husband's connection to Xfinity was lost. He was updating his data and when it was done, he had no connection to phone services. WiFi worked fine but the calling and texting privileges were gone. After he spent a good 30 minutes chatting with someone it was finally fixed. I told him I know you don't believe it but it was caused by the x flare from the sun. His response??? "Yeah, I saw that that happened. I don't think it's from that. When I updated my data, something went wrong and it just forgot to update the Xfinity portion."... WHAT??? Seriously, what sounds more logical? He's a really smart man! Things are getting ridiculous. GBY all ❤️

Many other space weather individuals have stated that the solar flares had nothing to do with the outages. Some are saying that the time and frequency did not match up, and there were no disruptions over the U.S. at the time. So who knows...??

So why did it “mostly” affect some of the cell companies? I have AT&T and mine was out as was all of my local friends. Another local friend has Verizon and she had full regular service.

Solar "issue" seems tangentially related when you remember that there was a "special room" that AT&T had put in place that only a certain 5-Eyes demographic had special access to.

I listened to a livestream this morning by end time survival channel and a service tech who is awake called in and he infadicatley stated that this is a cyber attack and they don't want to say that.
Just had. Guy ask me if I had cellphone. His has been out for over 9 hrs. I let him know it was probably due to the solar flare. He was surprised.
Oh yeah I can understand that but when it happened at that time we was not facing directly at the Sun so this is not adding up unless they can come up with something else but otherwise it's not adding up.

CELL PHONE OUTAGE: While solar flares can affect communication systems, it is highly unlikely that these two X-flares contributed to today's widely reported cell phone outages. The flares, while intense, did not cause a solar radiation storm. Moreover, the shortwave radio blackouts they did cause were too brief and too low in frequency to interfere with most cell phone communications. Other explanations are more likely

Haven't read this whole thread, but has anyone here seen the video last week from Butler County Ohio Sheriff talking about the impending threats (cyber, etc.)? Look it up. This may not be due to solar flares. He stated there have already been multiple cyber attacks and they will continue. I don't know everything about solar flares, but wouldn't the flares affect ALL cell towers and/or satellites, not just some? AT&T seems to be the main company affected, with only some other other cell and internet companies being affected here and there. I read it's mainly in larger cities. Not sure if that is accurate but I doubt a solar flare can pick and choose which company it can affect and which location. Just my thoughts.
The solar flares would affect SOME not all, as the flares cause the most problems in the areas they hit the earth (Remember not the whole earth is facing the sun when it happens). Some areas will have outages, some areas not.

No issues with my phone or internet. So why would someone with AT&T who lives across the street have an issue? That's why it doesn't make sense. If AT&T is affected in my area, why isn't T-Mobile, or Mint or Xfinity, etc?

I do find it somewhat suspicious just how selective these flares were. I never lost cell service at any point. Yet a buddy with a different cell company lost all cell service, standing right next to each other. Interesting? Now I'm sure some of it has to do with who has what equipment where and whatnot. But I personally find that interesting.

I have AT&T and an Android. No issues all day. I'm in NW Florida btw. None of my friends here had any issues either. My cousins in the Northeast (Long Island and NYC) had issues and they all have iPhones, Androids, as well as AT&T, Verizon, Mint Mobile, and T-Mobile. Maybe its only in certain locations??
