I cant respond to everyone, please help me respond to people:
    - The largest and most complex networks are the most vulnerable - thats the USA.
    - No, we would not expect it to hit everything... and in fact, this is the most widespread (number/range of networks) solar impact in technological history.
    - It is a HUGE risk to do a cyber attack... so they took a risk on secondary infrastructure and didnt attack power, water, military? I don't think so.
    - Ionospheric waves (from this event) can be up to 300km long, which is a long distance between peak impact areas... so you shouldn't expect everything to be hit unless its a super flare.
    - Ionospheric impact goes global in minutes... the part of earth facing the sun ONLY matters for HF radio propagation.
Please help clarifying for the commenters.

How do you explain how ATT had issues while T-Mobile did not even though they use the same cell protocol and often uses each other towers.
I have seen where people in the same city with ATT had issues but T-Mobile did not.
It sounds more like a data center/server farm that a lot of these companies use may have come under attack from hackers.

My Uncle is a very successful engineer. Signs off on projects for the Department of Defense, which I was a little surprised to hear from him 10 years ago that his work and projects for them, have primarily to do with the National Power Grid. 10 years later and knowing what I do now, thanks to Ben, I'm not at all surprised anymore. A question he has thrown out there here and there, after some beers and quality family time during visits is, "What are you gonna do when the grid goes down?" He has said it's not a question of "if", but "when". No, he doesn't have the information, in depth, that we do (at least I've never known him to follow the Sun's effects like I, we, do here) but it's always made me think, "Alright, what piece of the puzzle, what info on vulnerabilities and stability (which all he'll say is, "Not nearly as stable as most think") does he know? The conversation doesn't go much farther or in depth, because he is, as a requirement of his job, NOT supposed to talk about specifics, or even vague specifics. Understandable. But little bread crumbs a person hears here and there, paints a picture that is full of questions, and false "We're completely safe and fine" assertions from our "Integrity filled Government (yeah, right)". Really, it should make anyone who pays attention, realize we as the majority population are sheep to the Elites. There is no "best interests for the common people", they don't give a shit about you or I. Enough of my 2:21 rambling. Thank you Ben for the effort you have put forth to bring info to the public, so the few who do pay attention can take comfort in this little "community", and be better prepared for whatever is coming. And really, just preparing and living a better life. High admiration and respect for you........and....Fuck Denver. Denver sucks...shit.✌️

As a professional nerd with over 20 years of experience in fixed and mobile networks, I don't believe the X-flares are the cause. I have a few reasons for this: 1) signal was still being received by the phones, and backhaul for most cell cites is fiber based (which is fairly immune to electrical activity). 2) outage was too widespread (but only limited to the US) -- It only took out US carriers but not Mexico's cell sites. 3) I feel this is far more likely an attack on backhaul / BGP routing than a physical attack, mostly because it all came back up again quickly.

My house alarm & my neighbor’s one triggered at around 23:00 Z I also found out that our power grid in South Africa lost 5 generation units at the same time. We went from loadshedding stage 2 to stage 4 due to the failed capacity. We were on the dark side of the earth at the time we are Zulu+2 here. The 5 generation units are still offline with no indication when they’ll be reinstated yet. Last year, when the Sun burped the big X class flare around march, we lost power for 10 hours. Our cellular coverage and internet services weren’t affected. A lot of our data centers and telecommunications switches are in EMP shielded buildings because during the 1970s & 1980s when a lot of them were upgraded, there was a terrorism threat here & EMP protection was identified as a possible threat so most of our telecommunications infrastructure is hardened. It probably will still get hit by “the big one” but measures have been taken that might help to a small degree. I used to work in that industry & I was part of the strategic planning when some of it was done in the early 1980s. I guess I’ve been a bit paranoid about this stuff for quite some time.

This was Ben’s take on this morning’s cell phone outage :
“I cant respond to everyone, please help me respond to people:
      - The largest and most complex networks are the most vulnerable - thats the USA.
      - No, we would not expect it to hit everything... and in fact, this is the most widespread (number/range of networks) solar impact in technological history.
      - It is a HUGE risk to do a cyber attack... so they took a risk on secondary infrastructure and didnt attack power, water, military? I don't think SO.
      - Ionospheric waves (from this event) can be up to 300km long, which is a long distance between peak impact areas... so you shouldn't expect everything to be hit unless its a super flare.

Supposedly the outage is primarily affecting AT&T and the carriers that piggyback off that network. A major healthcare/pharmacy group has also been affected.
While I respect Ben's opinion, I think this is too localized to be related to minor X-class flares. (Yes, I've watched all the videos & have all the books.) The flares occurred at 2300hrs and 0600hrs UTC. The outages were first reported around 0300hrs CDT (2100hrs UTC) peaking between 0800-0900hrs CDT (0200-0300hrs UTC). This doesn't seem to line up with the almost instantaneous transmission of solar flare energy. Maybe I'm wrong - more info is needed, but I'm leaning toward a cyber attack.

Not to mention anecdotal reports of people having 2 phones in the house, one working, one not - same with having a phone not working, but the iPad was.
I'm leaning toward a screwed up "upgrade" somewhere in the ATT network, perhaps having something to do with older phones or something.
I'm not dismissing the possibility that the flares may have damaged or interfered with some older, unshielded equipment in various nodes, but the reports from individuals don't seem to mesh with that either.

    • @ChadBoss-qr4hl
      @ChadBoss-qr4hl 3 місяці тому +2

One working, one not households could be as simple as one failing over to WiFi and the other not for whatever reason. IOW Could be both phones weren’t working on 5g but only one was configured to fail over to WiFi. Hard to say because it’s anecdotal.
Doesn’t feel like a flare to me or necessarily an attack. AT&T is not reportedly saying it was an upgrade failure in a key bottleneck, but would they really confirm cyberattack OR flare?

There would most definitely be signal that this was the case but only for those with high level visibility, ie, military intelligence etc. It doesn't have to be either, it can be both. Only They would know their targets for certain right away. It's a shame we live in a world where we have to consider it's evil at work and not just solar flares.
