I love Brian's voice here. His presence and musical touches are just as essential to that 'classic' Weezer sound as Matt Sharp's were. No offense at all to Scott--he's an ace musician and top human being, but the best of Weezer--THE Weezer 'sound' that hits you in the gut and makes you want to shout and cry and dance and laugh all at the same time, will ALWAYS be the collaborative music of Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Brian Bell, and Pat Wilson. Thank you for the songs, guys. I can honestly say you've made my life better because of your music.
There’s a bunch of lyric variations from all the different versions of SFTBH. Earlier versions from what I read seem to be more coherent with the space opera, and later versions seem to forget it’s a concept album part way through
I think what happened with Songs From the Black Hole is that Rivers grew dissatisfied with the story and it become more him finding the best material for an album as opposed to material that supplemented a storyline. That’s how I think it was dropped
@@MuseBySecrecy And Matt’s band The Rentals, their debut album came out during Weezer’s hiatus and had space themes, heavy use of synth, and multiple male/female vocal harmonies and parts. All things Rivers wanted in SFTBH. Pretty unfortunate but in the end we have 2 great albums and all the leftover pieces of SFTBH so it ain’t too bad
sftbh is gold! thank you very much for these uploads, keep em comin God damn get yourself one man its gonna be a long cold trip if you act like that think of all the chicks and the money and the news crews waiting back home for us get me off the magic bus if they're practicing it.... i hesitate to say it... they might release it...
@BigJohnWoody I've seen the original script from rivers diary in alone. these were at the very least added after its recording and ive seen no documentation of these lyrics before. but who can say when there from? i dont know myself...
@captianlinger1 What I mean is, are these lyrics from the 90's or is the first record of their existence more recent? Are they actually writing new lyrics to this song or are these old ones that didn't find their way into the stuff we've already heard?

Scott can sing actually pretty well
From now on I will imagine Brian as Dondo, and Scott as Wuan
Brian was always Wuan...
They brought it out of the Black Hole!!! Hooooray!!!!
u are guys are way too cool, best band ever!
The new lyrics seem to have removed M1 and got Dondo/ Wuan to sing, possibly a last minute change due to the inability to have a Vocoder on Rivers?
Wuan and Dondo always sang, you just don't notice because the demo was made by rivers alone (it is on Alone by Rivers Cuomo, after all)

Love. This.
@BigJohnWoody Honestly that was a bit of a guess on my part... its clearly muffled and strained but it seems to go with the theme well enough

Nice
@captianlinger1 When was this verse/lyric first documented? Is it something they added recently or what?
