@@MK-oz2lf As far as I'm aware of Mr. Thomas was working on this design many years taking on board his experience as guitarist playing on tube amps...He used new technology nano tube as far as I know this technology is from Russia, but please correct me once otherwise. This thiny nano tube is giving 100W power just imagine how these days technology evolved! 👌👍💪💪💪
@@basandi4017 Just for a correction, the amplifier actually has a class D power amp at the tail end of the circuitry to provide the actual power. The nanotube colors the signal that then gets amplified, that's how you can downsize and keep it "tube-like". It also breaks up and the nano tube does heat up if you push the master knob.
This is My favorite Demo hands down, and these tunes are sick! Nailed it! What beautiful toys Batman! I always ask! One Amp, One Guitar, one Floor Board, one Daw/plug in and 2 cabs! ??? Forever!!!! What would You pick Jon?
I know hard question! It’s been 3 weeks, one guitar, one board, one amp, and 2 cabs for life???? It’s the end of the world and You have to grab them fast and get into the fallout shelter! Please tell me
Your initial review was one of the ones that made buy this little guy as a first amp. Portable, flexible, sounds nearly close to a real tube amp, can't go wrong with it. I added a fuzz pedal and plan to buy that boss MS-3 midi switcher and fx unit and I can literally dial any tone I'd want on a small pedalboard. Great stuff again Jon
I’ve been having trouble deciding between the two but after watching his videos and considering the FX loop problems on the MT 15,I’m going with the Iridium. I’d still like to see a head to head comparison, though.
Great video as always. I´m about to pull the trigger on an amp1. I prefer the sounds of the Mercury edition, but as I understand, on the Mercury you can´t deactivate the IR for silent recording without a load box. Is this true? I would appreciate some input about this.
Yes, that amp is awesome! The only thing I dislike on mine is that the "Modern" channel is pretty much useless, ways too tight and light on the mids and low end. The Vintage and Classic channel are great though.
Yeah, I always got the feeling the Modern channel was the Extended Range channel. High gain sounds for an 8 string often sound like ass for 6, and vice-versa... at least in my experience. But if I'm gonna dj0nt in drop E, gotta kill that low end before it kills me first, lol.
@@JonathanKillstring I play in dropped A# and the Vintage channel sounds the best to me. The guitar looses pretty much all character on the Modern channel, sounds thin and boring to me.
@@alerock1996 I use the Amp1 like a head and only use 2 channels (Clean and Vintage/Classic). Havn't found a good use for the Modern channel so far. The included boost is also pretty weak, I just use a Boss OD pedal as it sounds less steril.
@@rk28984 Fair enough - I haven't gotten my hands on one, so this is all speculation from me. That said, I go from drop A to E standard with the same-ish settings without much issue. It's those low F#'s that do me in, lol.
Absolute Great tones man! But I uncovered yours secret gear part of this power sounds. and.... its trully love to play guitar music ) sorry when you meant to keep it a secret item )
Buy it if you have the money, it's great especially if you are gigging. Small, reliable, lightweight, sounds great and can be super loud! You won't need another amp with the Amp1.
You're a damn good riff writer. No offense to your channel, but you gotta figure out a way to make money doing that instead. Why not try to produce? Take middling local bands and throw your magic riff powers on them. Just my two cents John. I always look forward to your riff crearivity.
I really wanted to like this amp, but I ended up disappointed. It's super noisy, so much so that the modern channel was unusable. The noise gate doesn't help either because the electrical "crackle" is mixed in with the regular signal. I had similar problems with the Boss Katana, except this is even noisier! The tone is very warm and tube-like, as well as very tight, so it has that going for it. It doesn't help that it's pretty pricey for solid state. For the price you can buy a 6505 plus a good boost. If Thomas Blug can resolve the noise issues and lower the price about $100, he may really have a great product. Until then, I can't recommend it.
Enormous Video 🫡. Very good test, played very clean, a lot of possibilities of tone and very good tracks super enjoyable music. Iridium is one of these devices that produce me tons of G.A.S. For me it souds increíble. The only thing to me is that sounds a little thin. Between an amp and a pedal…I don’t know what do you think about this. It’s no necessarily something bad, because it easier to cut in the mix in studio enviromemt. I have a PRS MT15 for home recording, but the idea of save space, cables…is always around mu mind. Whats more Thomas Blug is a person that i admire a lot of as builder. His determination, his visión…I think he has a practical and innovate vision about the needs of future players. The prototipa of his new Amp X could be a monster all-in.
Killer! Love it…! So nice and tight…
Greetings from a proud designer…(Thomas)
Cheers my friend!

@@StratEdition Thx for your detailed information. 😉👌👍
Yes Mr Blug Rocks! H&K switchblade in a pedal! I wonder if I could get same tone from a tube man or the nano metal stuff!

I have this amp. It’s brilliant. Imagine what the amp X is going to be like !
Very diversifed showcase of this amp pedal. Nice!
Man, that amp sounds tight and aggressive. Perfect for all things heavy metal. Also your chord work is impeccable Jon. Keep up the fantastic work!
The clarity and articulation from this amp is unbeatable! Great demo
Dude the riffs, so creative. Ive got the Phoenix and Iridium as a daily rig, no regrets at all. Cheers and keep it up 👍
I just ordered one. I'm excited!
You should talk to STL tones about doing a tonehub pack. Your tones are always so good
I have mine yet and it sounds simply anazing!!! BTW, nice playing John!

I'm so happy to see this series back! I love One Song, One Amp! Each time I hear the Iridium I'm more sold on it.
Epic compostion! Great work! 🤘😎🤘
Alot of nice chord choices, brother.
Thanks!
That amp sounds great!
Can you plug this to a regular passive cabinet or you have to plug in a blug cab ?
@@alexdenton6586 any normal guitar cab should work
very nice. not sure i like the pure clean, a bit sterile. but the drive tones are very impressive and tight, sitting well in a mix
Im getting it
Can you also make videos of these profucts without the loadbox, IR response etc? I think those affect the sound in your videos tremendously.
They affect the sound in the same way a mic'ed cabinet would.
Sounds great...I assume you are tweeking the amp to each guitar & tone, as opposed to being able to switch through all of these sounds?
Good stuff! I can always hear something lacking in class D power amps. Your recordings are so good, it makes it easier to tell.
LOL - swear that again in a blind test?
All-analog - digital schmidgital!
It would be awesome if you or anyone else could compare it to PRS MT15 as one of the smallest and powerful tube amp 😉👍

Something about the treble that keeps hitting my ears in a very unpleasant way. Not really digging this one.
