Having a father who was a Gurkha, and a grandfather that was also a Gurkha (who won a V.C. in WWII), he must have felt he had so much to live up to, but he did it. Considering the success rate of applicants for selection into the Gurkhas is about 4% that is one hell of a family lineage.

They should win their case. Back in the days they were paid less than the army soldiers so this is only fair (I should add that the other soldiers were not paid that well either in those days).. They have always been respected by the other regiments for their utter devotion/dedication, bravery and kindness at the same time. Its now the beginning of2024 so hope all has been sorted.
Before I was born, our Dad served and ate with The Gurkhas he loved and respected him and they were the same in return - he said, ignore my rank, I'm me. There is a Nepal Restaurant opening town soon, WE will be eating there.
His single-handed bravery merited the Victoria Cross - it's shameful he was not recognised with it!! IMHO it would be wonderful if Prince William's son grew up and served with the Gurkhas. The RN had Princes Charles and Andrew, the RAF have Prince William, and the Blues (had) Prince Harry - I think it's about time the Gurkhas were honoured by the British Royal Family for their long service and loyalty to a fellow independent nation.
May all the young men who want to become Gurkhas one day have the same quality of life, the same pay and the same opportunities in their country of Nepal, instead of having to serve a foreign colonial power.
@@archiebald4717 Exactly. Sometimes history is subtle and complicated. The relationship between Nepal and the UK isn't the same as, for example, the UK and Kenya.

The one with the Kukri dance was Lahure ko relai ma, 'When the Lahorean set out to cut a dash'. Try listening to the original, at the correct tempo (in the original it is absolutely hilarious, but not very respectful; better if you don't know Nepali, and just enjoy the music). ua-cam.com/video/ahJMnXkx-7M/v-deo.html

I'm proud to say that my Late Grandfather was a Soldier during the War and ended up being a Chelsea Pensioner he wore the Scarlet coat with pride.
The loyal and fiercest fighters one could have in their military organization. Hail Gorkhali. Much respect from NZ Kiaora.

That infinity circle they did during the bagpiper session…as if to define their loyalty and courage is infinite. Amazing

Well done that Gurkha piper & their musicians👍
He should’ve got the Victoria Cross - what he did was incredible and makes me Proud to be British
yes he should have got the VC
You only get a V.C if you are killed or wounded showing overwhelming gallantry in the field!

To be an officer in the Gurkha you have to be a beast. The best of the best.
Every one of them should have a right to become a British citizen
Great deep prasad pun!!

The UK is foreign to Nepalis, but it is not a Colonial power and they do not have to serve. They volunteer, most who apply are not recruited.
Yes, its a great honour for them and their families....as well as in the UK....great respect always.@@archiebald4717

The Gurkha s should br given dual citizenship both Nepalese and British
Sadly Nepalese constitution don't allow dual citizenship 😭😭
and they still do not have the full army pension, its a disgrace
Now I got 4 khukris💪
jay Gorkhali
💪🔥

🙏🙏🙏😘😘💐💐
But why gurkhas salary is very less even labor earning more than them !!!!!
Less than what? They receive exactly the same salary and pension as every other soldier of the same rank in the British army.
