I interviewed Ronnie on Wsmz in Columbus Ohio one, and told him about the first time I saw him in 76 open for Grover Washington. He remembered and we went on to hang out for the next five hours. A real nice man.
Unreal - 7:35 on is a clinic on keyboard improv in a live setting!! What an entertainer. Dont get me wrong, Ronnie is the damn Man! Great keyboard player selection however - strong band for a fusion icon.

Damn, I love this band. Every member brings a certain flavor. Just like a plate of soul food, you have to have all the right courses to make it a fine meal. Ronnie Laws couldn't have picked a better band to compliment his great talent.
And let's not forget the super funky groove laid down by the bassist and drummer... what?! Such restraint and such funk at the same time! And the guitar solo - go Brother! So tasteful and so mean at the same time.

The guitarist's performance complements his ably with a snaptouch of Eric Gale.

Ron Otis plays with Earl Klugh and Kem, Carl Holmes on bass plays with all the big names when they come to town, and Perry Hughes is a Master Guitarist, and he is a legend around this town and around the world, all world class musicians......
