I might be wrong but the 'Did you miss me' quote is referring the the original singer returning to OAA as the previous singer chose to pursue a career in tattooing and the cover song was 'Shape of my heart'.......also a banger
Not my usual type of music (I prefer mostly clean vocals), but I dug this tune a lot! As you said, the groove was real and that synth background adds so much to the track. Definitely going on my playlist!
Great reaction as usual... and also I do appreciate you having Sleepwalking, No nurture, Rot and Dead in your all time favourite Spotify playlist... keep rocking ❤️
Shameless request to react to the band that led me to JINJER (who they toured with last year) after I saw them live opening for EPICA in 2016. I'm talking about The Agonist. Formerly fronted by Alyssa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), currently led by Vicky Psarakis and described variously as exteme metal, melodic death metal, deathcore, etc. A lot of folks would probably direct you to the opening track from their recent Orphans album, "In Vertigo", but I'd argue that "The Gift of Silence", while less intense, is a better showcase of their artistic diversity and technical talent. Rock on, my dude!
So their first full release album lost isles has James doing vocals who had been there from the beginning. Second album hikari was a different vocalist, while his screams weren’t as good as James’s, his cleans were better IMO. During James’s hiatus with oaa he formed a band called livealie, and now is back in oaa, hence the “did you miss me” at the very beginning because so many fans were distraught after his separation with the band a few years back. This is the best thing to happen during 2020. Love from the states.
@@Roguenjosh you owe it to yourself to check out lost isles for sure. Probably one of the most prog and tech metalcore albums ever released. The album is 5 years old and is still in my daily rotation, it’s that amazing.
@@holyguacamoly90 yup taming lions and to catch a flame are probably two of my favorite oaa songs to date. His highs in to catch a flame are so insane.
Hey bro. New band Tallah, released their new album a few weeks ago. They describe their sound as nu-core. Song/video for Overconfidence blasts. The drummer Max Portnoy (father is Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre) is a beast. Vocalist Justin Bonitz UA-cam sensation. Enjoyed the gaming stream when’s the next one?

James asked "Did you miss me?"
I said "F**k yeah mate!" He made me forget that I had been binge-watching Chris' drum playthrough during quarantine.
FOR REAL
The old vocalist is just a signature from this band... Thanks to the old vocalist by the way!
I had no idea! They’re both great
@@Roguenjosh he is the old vocalist the one on this music video and i welcome him back like he just said in the intro ( did you miss me )
Love this Josh! Thanks for your reaction :)
Thanks Kalle!

Thanks heaps papaya! Yeah I had no idea they’d had different singers!
100% the whole song is about changing James coming back and growing from the past

Yeah I’m huge on this one
love this band so much, so heavy and cool
I was actually just getting back into Oceans Ate Alaska they can just come out the blue and crush most bands with their smooth technicalities🤙🎸
Great reaction as usual... and also I do appreciate you having Sleepwalking, No nurture, Rot and Dead in your all time favourite Spotify playlist... keep rocking ❤️
Thanks so much for listening to the list!
You do realize, that this single introduces the new "old" singer?
I did not!
If you are interested, there is a band that brought out some new tunes about a month ago. Within The Ruins - Deliverance
Interesting fact they write the melody and instruments parts before lyrics the lyrics are always written and added last in OAA songs.
O to the 💚G
