- Ingredients
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 Tablespoons soft room temp butter
2 Eggs
1 cup dates/150g weighed without pit
1 cup boiling water
1+1/2 cup Cake flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
Toffee sauce
1/2 cup cream/ ideal milk
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons butter/margarine (45g)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
bake 175 degrees Celsius
40-50 minutes
mine baked for 40 minutes
ovens vary in heat so check at 35 minutes if toothpick comes out clean remove from oven
