Unless my eyes deceive me, that plate looks like Johnson Brothers ironstone--a square salad plate in the Friendly Village pattern. Johnson Brothers was a firm in Staffordshire for over a hundred years--no longer in existence. A vintage plate such as this one will set you back about twenty dollars.
I love your baking, easy and very delicious. When I made everyone likes it. Thanks for teaching/sharing. Have a wonderful holidays with family & friends. I have a one question , I don't have food processor. Can I use kitchenaid mixer???
Just made this exact recipe. It was waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too sweet. After I ate this, I looked at other recipes, and other recipes don’t use anywhere near the same amount of sugar for the caramel sauce. You could prob halve the amount of brown sugar in the sauce and this would still be insanely sweet. Yes, I’ve had sticky toffee pudding in England. It is sweet. But this is exponentially sweeter than even that. It’s diabetes in a dish. I’d look at ratios of sugar more and cut way back.
Martina, I don't think it will. So... my suggestion - make the dessert without telling her. They act as the sweetening agent and, they get pureed so finely... I'm not sure someone will know there are dates, unless you tell them. Since her dislike isn't an allergy... ???
Hi Supriya... yes, for sure you can! For each whole egg used, substitute it with - ½ a medium Banana, mashed - or - ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) Apple sauce - or - ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) Buttermilk
I like tilted... no worries - it's been on the table here for months now - we're trying to see if we can do a tweak to the mainframe, and offer both - lots of bakers insist on measured quantities. Stay tuned! Happy weekend!
Colleen... you've got our attention! Do you grease the tin first? Does it come out of the tin intact to shape? We're excited to try!!! Thanks for writing in and THANK YOU for watching!
@@Weekendatthecottage yes you grease it. It comes out exactly the shape of the pudding tin. I’ve been using mine for 25 years and every year it gets ahhhhs
I like how you don't waste time like talking about stuff that's not important to the subject, just straight to the point

Hi Mia... yes... and yes. The sauce may be a little thin... but it'll still taste fab! Enjoy!

Hi Neworld! Thanks so much for trying the recipe, and thanks too for your suggestion.
Will this work without the dates ? my daughter doesn't like them. 😥

Is this sort of what gorgon Ramsey makes it looks better than his 😌
Thanks, Maribel! Fingers crossed you can try... it's so delicious, and feeds a crowd!
❤❤
Thank you for watching, Heba!
you're welcome!🥰
Can we make without egg or egg replacement
Hi Supriya... yes, for sure you can! For each whole egg used, substitute it with - ½ a medium Banana, mashed - or - ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) Apple sauce - or -
¼ cup (4 tablespoons) Buttermilk
At which temperature do I put the oven
Thanks for watching TVT! Preheat oven to oven to 350°F with the rack in the middle position.
@@Weekendatthecottage tks....right now i'm baking it, greetings from México
Absolute? I'll take that with a pinch of salt. But it does look nice.
Thanks, Andy - agreed, just a pinch of salt should do the trick!
@@Weekendatthecottage 😂
Did you ever heard of grams when you do a recipe? Ffs
Edit: sorry. I was tilted. 🤣
Denis... you are adorable... ffs! LOL! Here were were thinking educated viewers would understand how we use cups to measure...
@@Weekendatthecottage here we dont use cups for measurements. Im sorry, i was tilted when i wrote!

Place in a steam pudding metal mould and boil for 1 1/2 hours. Vast difference and amazing
