While it's clear that Lord Saladin is still loyal to Zavala and even somewhat tolerant to letting the House of Light into the city, the lore for the empty vessel grenade launcher shows that he's been hearing sounds of WAR in his head. Considering additionally how he behaved last season, this could only point back to the one other looming threat overshadowed by all the havoc Quria and Savathun are causing: Xivu Arath. If she has also secretly gained a foothold within the tower while we're focused on the vex night, then considering what happened to the Cabal homeworld, we're heading for something truly catastrophic after this season.
Have you listened to lakshmi's newest message in the eleskni section of the helm? She said that the devise is VEX TECH, pretty sure thats an important detail.
I think Byf went over this in another video but yes it is Vex technology. That's exactly why it's able to to predict these futures. It's using Vex prediction engines
I think it’s more likely some sort of thing to commune with the darkness based on the descriptions of what people saw inside of it. They talk about talking to stranger that looks like them, If that doesn’t sound exactly like the Shadowkeep campaign then I don’t know what does. It’s likely not giving visions of the future, and is more likely to just be the darkness showing it’s future plans, as most of the events in Destiny are put into motion by the darkness.
I am amazed by how Byf went through the labirynth the same way i did, even making the same mistakes and moves, like looping in the triangle corridor in the 1st section and then struggling to choose between the 3 jumpy thingies just to choose the one on the right and then look back to see where the other lead. Its like watching my own gameplay once again. Brilliant
Pretty sure it will be Sava in the end , yes. I heard somewhere that FWC's "device" has her song encrypted in the code. Also , someone in Vanguard is a traitor. Osiris has her Crown now , doesnt he? Pretty obvious forshadowing methinks(unless Bungie just f*ucks with everyone . Which they could )
Got to say, it's interesting the way Bungie is going with thier stories. They're going ways that, without data mining, would be completely blindsided, even if we payed attention to lore foreshadowing these events. Anyway, I'm now going to stick a bit of made up lore that I thought off. It's a confrontation between my titian and Laskhimi-2. Here it is: Dusty-24 marched into Future War Cults HQ, with enough intent to hold the city's walls on his shoulders for a entire year. Members of the cult turned and stared, becoming a blur to Dusty as he went by as fast as a sparrow. The cult's guards, both human and Guardians, went to stop him, but quickly stopped and turned after acknowledging how mad he looked and his fame of being a great fighter, especially when the people of the last city are involved.(note: I'm a decent player in real life, can hold my own, but don't expect me to take on an army or something) Dusty burst into the main room, staring intensely at Laskhimi, who was about to go back into the machine. She stopped and stared back at the Titian. "I knew you would be coming. Although I underestimated the force that controls why you are hear." Dusty stood tall and still, fists tight as he remained his focus on the FWC leader. "You would then know why I am here then" he thundered, his mechanical voice echoing through the massive room. "The Eliskni of the House of Light" Laskhimi put down her equipment and started slowly walking towards Dusty, taking her time with each step. "Do you mean the Fallen, the same Fallen who raged war against us, scrapping at our walls to mercilessly kill the people who you are sworn to protect?" She then gestures to the Titian tough and towering frame. "Especially you, Titian?" Dusty stood his ground. He's dealt with all types of danger, standing his ground when the cabal fire everything at him, with weapons that could easily rip through a house, when the Vex surrounded him with weapons primed and an intent to kill, him outnumbered a thousand to one, the Taken writhering as they slowly creep toward him with weapons firing, using powers that define the laws of physics. He's seen it all, and survived. He isn't going down yet, and definitely not by this (can't think of the right word to describe. Any suggestions in the replies?). He stands still as a rock, giving off an air of Solar, Arc and Void energy. "This will be the only time I will tell you this. And you better listen." He points at her at this point. "I am a protector of the Last City and it's people, which includes the Eliskni. And I don't care about your prophecies and predictions. I've seen plenty fail. We even have some alive evidence of one of those failures in the tower, feeding pigeons at this moment." He lowers his arm and steps back, chest out and his face as stiff as golden age technology. "So if you dare try anything with those Eliskni, and I mean anything! Then you better start looking for a future where you can escape my fury. And spoiler alert, there isn't one." Without a word more from each of them, Dusty turned on his heel and left, leaving a faint change in the atmosphere of where he walked.

@@Sanguinius My theory is that Savathun is responsible for the endless night and shapeshifted into Osiris to plant a seed of chaos in our own ranks. Besides…she is capable to set a plan of this magnitude in motion. Last time the awoken paid the price for our foolishness.
As Aunor said about the Driter, "This man with no name and no verified history in the City's files has brought an ideological war to our doorstep. He's a greater threat than any Hive god or Vex Mind because I can't walk down to the Annex with a shotgun and end him. " Now it's the same, but with faction leaders.
I do doubt it. Aunor is focused on rooting out corrupted guardians. There are none such in the Vanguard, and she gives not a jot about civvie politics.
Aunor sees *anyone* who wields the power of the Darkness as corrupt, even if they aren't. If the Vanguard is turning a blind eye to the Guardian using it, she'd be, at least, suspicious of them.
Lakshmi said when she looked into he future she saw the city burning with mithrax at the centre, I think what she saw was the factions rising up and the fallen fighting them along with guardians
She’s gonna be the reason the city in her vision was so messed up with the coupe. she said the fallen are at the center of it but it’s the fallen helping us defend the city from lakshmi but she sees the fallen as the enemy in her vision using the vex tech.
You the irony of these 3 factions making a coup is that they share mindsets if the enemy factions: New Monarchy - Cabal Dead Orbit - Fallen FWC - Vex They just can't see it
Yes they do! Furthermore we are now in Caitls position during Season of the Chosen. We Chose to take the Fallen in to help us, and some close people of the consensus sees It as weakness. Caitl faced the same decision but took a different solution Than us, hopefully this turns out good. But Caitl even calle Zavala to warn him, she knows whats happening because she experienced It before. Mád writting dude

Been with FWC since early D1, now I guess in lore I'm one of the members leaving. Kind of sad but I always thought the Fallen could and should become potential allies. Even in year one of D2 when I explained the lore of the new Fallen house to my friend, his first response was "so why aren't we fighting together"
ALSO BYF can we get a video on Sjur Eido and Sleepless’ loretab? Maybe during a lull in the season? I keep thinking we’ve got to get payoff on that dream soon.
Without a doubt the person who can assure that transfer of power is Osiris. Osiris has each week now worked harder and harder to give Lakshmi what she wants (wether it’s keeping Saladin out of the consensus or forcing mithrax to give her vex data). Furthermore everyone needs to take a long hard look at Osiris and ask yourself if he really is who he claims to be. Savathun is in the city and she might be closer than we think.
So here’s the thing. Leak already spoiled it. But it’s okay because something good came from it. History has its “never invade Russia in the winter” Destiny’s version is ‘never open a vex portal as an attack on your enemies’

Saint may be the Devil to the Fallen but even he is willing to listen and understand. I wonder if she has even considered the possibility that the future she keeps talking about seeing where the fallen are fighting us within the city, is the result of what she is currently doing and if she succeeds.

You know that scene in Pirates of the Carribean where the captain is walking down the steps as his ship is torn apart? That is a little bit more accurate a description for what would happen to her if even a dozen openly denounced her
The thing that Lakshmi said that started ringing alarm bells for me is when she described what she foresaw, she mentioned Mithrax was at the heart of the action in the burning husk of the city, but she never says explicitly *why* he's stood there, or who he's fighting. Reading the loretab of the FWC SMG, I feel it's that vision that Lakshmi is talking about.

Here it is:
Dusty-24 marched into Future War Cults HQ, with enough intent to hold the city's walls on his shoulders for a entire year. Members of the cult turned and stared, becoming a blur to Dusty as he went by as fast as a sparrow. The cult's guards, both human and Guardians, went to stop him, but quickly stopped and turned after acknowledging how mad he looked and his fame of being a great fighter, especially when the people of the last city are involved.(note: I'm a decent player in real life, can hold my own, but don't expect me to take on an army or something)
Dusty burst into the main room, staring intensely at Laskhimi, who was about to go back into the machine. She stopped and stared back at the Titian. "I knew you would be coming. Although I underestimated the force that controls why you are hear."
Dusty stood tall and still, fists tight as he remained his focus on the FWC leader. "Especially you, Titian?"
Dusty stood his ground. We even have some alive evidence of one of those failures in the tower, feeding pigeons at this moment."
He lowers his arm and steps back, chest out and his face as stiff as golden age technology.

Even in year one of D2 when I explained the lore of the new Fallen house to my friend, his first response was "so why aren't we fighting together"
For all her prophesies, Lakshmi hasn’t seemed to have heard of a self fulfilling prophecy.
ALSO BYF can we get a video on Sjur Eido and Sleepless’ loretab? Maybe during a lull in the season? I keep thinking we’ve got to get payoff on that dream soon.
I think we need to give the man props for reading Novarro’s message to Lakshmi with such passion and verve. Kudos.
Man I'm feeling some kind of way as I used to love FWC back in D1...
I know the feeling man. Their colors, weapons and overall look was just sleek and clean. Now look at them.

@@salazaarfyrfang2699 I certainly hope you are right on that front, however one of the voice lines I heard recently between Saint and Miissraaks is enough to keep me concerned that it is possible to have his emotions outweigh his senses
I have said it before. I would like to “play cards” with her. But I may just have “an ace up my sleeve”
@@EdranNight If you are referring to the one where he tells Mithraxx to "save his false holiness for Ikora" and then goes on a small rant about what he has seen the Fallen do to innocent, unarmed people yeah that's understandable but despite that I'm confident Saint will not turn on them. And I don't think Ikora would have made him liason between Mithraxx and the people of the city if she wasn't confident he could be swayed to see not all Fallen are like Eramis
Lakshmi and my Thorn will have a lot to talk about when the endless night is delt with.
Oh, you wont get the chance. She....uh.... you'll see.
I wonder if she has even considered the possibility that the future she keeps talking about seeing where the fallen are fighting us within the city, is the result of what she is currently doing and if she succeeds.
Self fulfilling prophecy
She didn’t see the Eliksni fighting us. They are just fighting in the city while it is being attacked. Most likely fighting on our side.
Or it could be the last, or alternate present, or a possible future. considering the fallen have been trying to kill us for centuries and what happened when the Reef trusted the fallen in their homes, it's not unreasonable.
@@davonhenry8645 The Reef incident happened because of Skolas' reappearance. After his death, and all his Elite forces, the Wolves became scattered. Needless to say they had it coming, and any Eliksni who dares try to fight against us, will have to deal with a godslayer on their doorstep in a heartbeat. Saint is watching over these ones, so if they try anything to harm the last city, he'll just snap their neck like a toothpick or a crayon.
@@aztumtheknightofwumbo7060 And you can guarantee that another Skolas will not appear? How much damage will be done to the city before Saint will be able to stop it? Will you take full responsibility for all the human lives lost? Can humanity recover from that? Will they trust guardians ever again or will they simply leave since there is not point in staying in what is supposed to be the last safe haven of humanity when the protectors let in the enemy willingly? Will guardians take responsie? Will they learn from the last of simply repeat it by letting in more enemies in the name of some misplaced morality? They certaint didn't learn from the experiences of the Reef.

I bet this is gonna be a case of the future Lakshmi foresaw was caused by her own actions.
Obviously it is that or they are helping us in WQ or LF.
It seems as if Lakshmi and Hideo have forgotten the lesson taught by the Concordat.
I seem to have some extra paracausal energy in me, I just might yeet a handheld supernova casually towards lakshmi-2
Also who can tell me with certainty that ikora is not aware of the shit that lakshmi-2 is doing, I mean she is the leader of the hidden or something right
I think I got some dialog in either override or in the HELM that implies that Ikora knows exactly what Lakshmi is doing and is keeping an eye on her
@@Matt-mv5tt ah exactly.. makes sense.. ikora is not an idiot, she leads the spy corp of the vanguard the hidden, she would know, let's see what she might do
@@shadowstorm9363 if you pay attention to the weekly messages in the HELM, there’s one from Ikora. While she doesn’t expressly call out the FWC, she does promote unity and makes it clear she is paying attention to the airwaves
It seems like the device gives it's users visions of the Darkness. When the second test subject mentions that they had seen a stranger, but themselves, it just reminded me of the final cutscene from Shadowkeep, where someone that look exactly like us (and is obviously a vision of the Darkness/Pyramid) says: “Don't you recognize us?”
Crow might be important this season after all. He can hear the traveler.
WAIT WHAT
Considering the traveler is awake I don't see how that is surprising.
@@TheTruthFreed01 it's not like having a direct conversation it's like the dream we got from the beginning of the game.
Well, it's not like he's the new Speaker or something. It's not just him y'know. Ikora Rey recieved visions from the Traveler back in Forsaken, and we have communicated with the Traveler ourselves a few times.
@@elitegamer9310 there is also Trya who also has dreams from the Traveler, she also mentioned that other guardians also had dreams. The Traveler has become note active since it woke up
It would be amazing that said person mentioned in the last lore entry had something to do with the Concordat, who coincidentally, also attempted a coup against the vanguard and were stopped by New Monarchy
Bungie doing this so they don't have to do faction rallies again lol all jokes aside cool stuff
The worst/best thing about Savathuns trickery is that she could be entirely uninvolved in whatever Civil war is brewing in the City. For all we know she could be sitting on her throne looking at us and going "the hell they doin' over there".
Lakshmi-2: In the name of the Last City, you are under arrest.
Zavala: Are you threatening me, Lakshmi?
Lakshmi-2: The Consensus will decide your fate.
Zavala: I AM the Consensus.
Lakshmi-2: Not yet.
In my head cannon for my Warlcok he's been a member of FWC since D1. Now with Lakshmi's current actions....he's on the fence about it at the moment.
I really wish we as players could have an affect on the politics within the city somehow, an army of guardians denouncing FWC openly would really take the wind out of her xenophobic sails
You know that scene in Pirates of the Carribean where the captain is walking down the steps as his ship is torn apart? That is a little bit more accurate a description for what would happen to her if even a dozen openly denounced her
canonically, young wolf cares little else about than guns, killing and justice.
Looks like we're going to have another Lysander on our hands
The thing that Lakshmi said that started ringing alarm bells for me is when she described what she foresaw, she mentioned Mithrax was at the heart of the action in the burning husk of the city, but she never says explicitly *why* he's stood there, or who he's fighting. Reading the loretab of the FWC SMG, I feel it's that vision that Lakshmi is talking about.
Time to turn someone else into a gun.
Lakshmi-3
This is the first time I've read a Byf lore title and thought, "ya I know".
Im glad Bungie is actually making and effort with the story.
Starting to think that this season is just going to be Bungo’s way of offing the factions altogether...after the disasters of events known as Faction Rallies.
House Light: (Doesn’t Destroy the Last City)
Lakshmi 2: “Fine I’ll do it myself”
Oh. Crap. The vision from VoG. A lot of Dead Orbit and only a few New Monarchy and FWC ships.
Dead orbits whole thing is stockpiling ships though, so no matter what it makes sense that dead orbit has more ships, also makes sense that FWC would have the least cause their whole deal is fighting out whatever cataclysm is supposed to happen
Those lights she said are white, golden, and red are a good description of what we know about oricles
The person of influence has been looking us in the face. Someone confident that Saint would side with them, and who knows about Saladin's 'soft spot' for Zavala? To quote Saint, "You're too political an animal, Osiris." Without Sagira he's a fucking snake.
Without Sagira he's manipulatable. Causal. Lightless, in a place of power, without a defense against the touch of the deep. And we all know who's coming in the next expansion.
Why on earth did he decide to bring the crown of sorrow back to the tower from the Glycon, hmm?
@@sebastianturner2458 because he is totally not a queen of lies under a mask of the legendary warlock, nu-uh.

He helped out crow without Sagira. He hasn’t expressed any negativity towards the house of light. I think Osiris has his head on his shoulders. Saladin on the other hand ...
@@salazaarfyrfang2699 He's not Savathun. He's infected by a hive worm, probably on the moon after Sagira, and has been fighting its influence for a while. But he's finally succumbing.
