This door is gorgeous, and I absolutely LOVE the heart shaped window! You made such good choices on the materials, and the red is obviously a great contrast to the green trim.
Great tip about installing screws that are placed close to the ends of boards by using the reverse on the drill to start the screws so the boards don't split. Thanks.
Hello Ken. Thank you for making this video available. I do enjoy watching your work on all your projects. Looking forward to seeing the next one. The children coop is going to be a chicken palace I’m sure.
❤ Good Day Ken🌻🌞 Beautiful Door! Would be nice with little window! Aww a Heart ❤️ shape Window 😍🪟 So Awesome for Valentine's Day for A Childs Play House 👍👌✌️🤞🙌🙏🇺🇸💜✝️☕☕🤩🌻
Good morning Ken, you sound like me😂. It seems like the older I get the more mistakes I make. But my late father‘s voice rings in my ear, he used to say you can tell a mechanic by the way that he fixes his mistakes. Keep up the good work my friend!
Just shows that even the professionals make mistakes. LOL.. Good thing you went with screws instead of nails. My shop teacher used to tell me that the difference between a good carpenter and a bad one was that a good one knew how to fix his mistakes. No harm done. 😄
To error is human how easy it would have been to hid this mistake so that we think you always get it right thank you for showing your like the rest of us
Thanks, Ken. Looking to convert the backdoor on this house to a dutch door. In this neighborhood, houses like mine are destined to be teardowns so I am emboldened to take on this project.
Hey Ken, don't feel bad about your measurements being a tad off, your just catching up with the times,I believe their teaching this in some schools nowadays ,it's called new math.
I sure did enjoy. I will have dark chocolate ice cream please. I loved the Heart ❤️ That was perfect. The cut out heart painted red will look cute deco for the house address or name of the house. I love this play house. . This is a❤️❤️❤️ BLESSING HOUSE.👏👏🎉 The children will love this home. Next you'll be make furniture for it. With beds to sleep in. You did an excellent job KEN. Make it bigger and I'll move in. L.O.L. GOD BLESS YOU and the children. S.E.Michigan
WELL WELL WELLL;;;;ya almost done;;;;gotta see that thing in broad daylight;;;lol;;;;good one;;;we all make mistakes;;even us professionals;;;hungh;;;lol;;;I like the fact that you show you are human and only be perfect when it fits;;;lol;;;I hear perfect alot but that is after careful measuring and cutting;;;lol;;;;another good one;;;thumbs up and keep on cuttin
Any thought to wood movement? I'm thinking the door would expand in width more than anything. By placing the tong and groove so tight I would be worried about it splitting the cross braces.
I think this would have been a lot easier if you had trimmed off both sides, so the door was the finished width before adding any other boards. Then any mistake would have been obvious before putting in any screws.
I just lost some faith in you for not varnishing that door but it is a nice door......to bad you dont have a square to use would have saved some time haha
Come on Ken - a man of your experience should know that a battery power driver is NOT a mallet or hammer. Misuse your tools and they will come back and bite you in the bum. The correct tool for the correct job please. Thanks for letting us see as it's very interesting to watch as a craftsman from the old country.
Some child is going to be very lucky to get this play house! It looks beautiful, Ken. As always your work is impeccable!
Thank you very much!

Thanks
Thanks for the pre-bore tip on running the drill backwards to avoid the splits.
Happy to help!
The reality of life is making mistakes. It is great that you left that part in. Helps newbies learn from them.

Here is an idea. . . . you could make a video about "Watching Paint Dry". . . . You would find a way to make it interesting. 😊

For some reason my grandpa always said: “Measure seven time, then cut once.”
Haha

A very nice door, inexpensive too. The door needs to be stout to keep the truant officer out.
Haha right
Nice job on the door !

Great job!
Thanks!
Love it! So beautiful!👍❤️

Nice! I’m curious why you didn’t glue the T&G together?
Seemed like it might be messy

Always stay young at heart ❤
Yes
I thought for sure you would leave the door a natural pine with a poly finish
That was definitely an option
Soooo cute 😁
Thanks
Tolle Arbeit 👏🏻🇩🇪🤗👍
Thanks
Guten Morgan Guten Tage
Did you just cut off the plexiglass of the shape of the heart or did you extend it the full length and width of the section of the door?
It’s just a little bit wider than the heart
@@kenskarpentry thanks Ken.
Very nice! Is there a reason you don't have the gap on the door tighter than 1/4"?
Thanks. Just for wear and tear down the road
Boy, I don't know Ken. Looks line it many not be sturdy enuff! ;
Haha
Any thought to wood movement? I'm thinking the door would expand in width more than anything. By placing the tong and groove so tight I would be worried about it splitting the cross braces.
Typically, when you buy tongue and groove lumber, it’s still fairly wet and shrinks so it should be fine.
I think this would have been a lot easier if you had trimmed off both sides, so the door was the finished width before adding any other boards. Then any mistake would have been obvious before putting in any screws.
You’re probably right
OH NO!! All of the siding fell off since yesterday's video. LOL
Haha
A'door'able.... 🙂
Haha thanks
It's not your fault Ken. We all know that the tape measure lies now and then.
Haha true
Shop Doggy !!
Haha

Yup
