I have wandered for years what made the Katana such a rich and beautiful sword i was taught. All i can say is i am so impressed and in awe the craftmanship he put into it.
everyone looking for part 6, there is no part 6, the sword is done as far as his part is concerned, it's off to be polished and sharpened and it's hilt added, different trades man. amazing level of tradesmanship, and to be lost very soon, i fear for the human race, thousands of years of knowledge passed to machines, that still cannot make one as good as this guy.

The work of a traditional katana smith is so incredible complicated that it would take 25 video’s or more. I guess the camera guy didn’t get permission to film the polishing process.

Even with a couple of modern tools to speed the process up that blade is a beautiful piece of deadly art fit for a warrior. Any got $150,000 American dollars to loan me so I can go to Japan and buy that blade?? Lol!
it has to do with the clay, and its not really night, the brightness of the forge just made the camera adjust so it seemed to be night. when the blade is quenched, the clay protects the spine; the edge because very hard from the quenching, while the spine becomes soft. this difference causes the curve.

i nust have missed it but did he add the softer material along the spine that would have caused it it to curve.
