Agreed. Unfortunately for many who may not really get into the history of the 10mil, “watered down” is the opinion of the shooter. Like this Sig 10mil, it’s “watered” down compared to the ballistics Cooper, others involved in development as well as Norma. Not too bad when shooting it from a shorter barrel than what’s used for advertising test speeds. To each his own. Some may think 900 fps out of a 180 gr 10mm is “fast for commercially available ammo” others like a min of 1250, but expect 1300+ from the top 3 ammo manufacturers
I just gotta say, I love that you still go through the effort to use organic gel. I wish you would calibrate it, but just seeing someone who still gives enough of a shit to not take the easy way is refreshing. Thank you.
The 9mm didn't do to bad, but that 10mm really surprised me. It expanded very good, and got good deep performance. For off the self, not that bad. I'm sure from a full size, it would get even better. Thanks for the tests, love everyone of them . Wishing you a wonderful day.
Thank you sir!! Yeah it's definitely a good performer. It's nasty out of the full size, usually in the 1350ish area. I have a few tests up of it in the 5" 1911. I will prolly retest again here soon since we have the slow-mo now. Should be fun. Thanks again, always appreciate ya stopping by to check em out!! Glad u enjoy the the channel, Thank you very much!! U have a great day as well my friend. Plenty on the way😁👍.
Got to admit that 10mm is very good velocity and expansion for 2 legged. Some other rounds I'd maybe want if I was NW worried just as much as 4 legged on outskirts of town then the methead bipeds in town. I did use the 115V in my recent 9mm JHP POI Accuracy vid people may want to check out
The ten belongs to a totally different league ie the. 357 44 mag These are about the intensity of impact and the immediate damage and decapitation. Great video
everyone knows the 10mm will perform better but with the 9mm you will get more ammo, cheaper and easier to find ammo to practice with, more accurate follow up shots.
Best bear gun caliber the other options is a 357 revolver and thats only 6 shots. A semi auto 10mm, you get any were from 13 to 16, and if you have to reload that aint a problem im a huge revolver fan but in bear County its the rock island doble stacked 1911 in 10mm 16 rounds
My Glock 19C got from 30 to 40 fps less with the ported barrel compared to a non ported barrel. This was with 115 grain range Ammo. About a 3.5% decrease.
I've been watching Sig ammo fail in every caliber but 10 mm for 5 years in Denim test. It is outstanding in 10mm, I would have to know they change their formula and see the results online for a while before I trust any other caliber.
Admittedly I am a 9mm fanboy and have seen alot of videos where a 9mm out did a 10 mm when using the weak factory loaded 10 mm ammo but I cannot deny what I have just seen with my own eyes, this 10 mm round would out do any 9mm round I can think of. It cut the mustard, the gel, even the cheese if you want it too. That said when I think 10 mm I'm thinking large nasty animal defense using some kinda hard cast like buffalo bore or underwood extreme penetrators, they make even a 9mm an acceptable bear defense gun, But this 10 mm load got enough penetration AND a wider wound channel I think it would do the job as well
I am not a 9 Hater. It is over 120 years old and has been the standard since it was introduced. I think that puts it at the top of the list for the world's most successful handgun cartridges. That being said, I shoot so much 10mm these days that 9mm just seems underwhelming and anticlimactic. Going from 10mm to 9mm is like going from real sex to masturbation; the best part is missing. It's just so 'meh' that it isn't even worth the energy. I EDC a Glock 20, and have for a couple decades now. When Underwood 180 or 200 gr XTPs aren't available, the SIG Vcrown is readily available at several local sporting good stores, and their FMJ fodder has kept me afloat since the Dillon got put in storage to turn the projects room into a nursery.
I agree 100%. I like the 9 as a range toy but for EDC I find it underwelming. There is a police video where a guy took 10 shots to the chest from like 5ft and didn't go down until the 11th shot. I feel much more confident in 10mm or even 357sig
You can shoot a lot of different calibers at anything and the bullets do the same thing. If the bullet penetrates mission accomplished regardless of caliber.
The 9 basically felt like it wasn't even there, .22ish, hardly any muzzle rise at all.. Very flat shooter. The 10 was definitely more stout for sure, u could really tell u had something there. Still manageable but quit a bit more.
"Let's see that 10mm, that's a whole different story" lol No comparison. This is unfair to the 9mm. That's like putting a heavy weight boxer up against a women boxer. It's not that she can't box but she would be out of her league. This 9mm isn't the best as 9mm stands and this 10 is one of the best commercial loadings. Good results. Thank you.
Im very impressed that both projectiles managed to penetrate the cotton t shirt material. I expected them to deflect, or maybe go around the t-shirt material. This is cause for further research. 180 grain projectile moving 1200 fps, delivering almost 600 ft lbs of energy....vs 👕cotton nearly thin enough to see through.... Physics is amazing. Almost as amazing as adhering to anything the FBI says, especially from the 1980s
Out of a g17 no comp the V-crowns never look like that they are almost as big as the 10mm with penetration, expansion, controllability and capacity for the WIN 🎊🥳👏🏆✅- (Full size 9mm hits different, the 124gr’s expand even bigger and penetration and energy delivered on target it key and in todays day an age capacity and controlability are key🧠 (Throwing the same Sig Vcrown 115/124’s in a 16” 9mm carbine is a different story! I have experienced maximum expansion, some fragmentation, Magnum energy on target w the ability2still penetrate🎯) 9mm pistol with a 9mm carbine is a modern day cowboy kit worth taking a look at! You get a smogasboard of defensive ammo for any situation that is the lightest defensive ammo versified by the FBI to be effective that can be used in a pistol with maximum capacity or a carbine with maximum capacity all retaining the ability of control and follow up shots which are important! I love my 10mm but these days you have no idea what your up against! It’s usually a group of criminals and that’s where capacity and controlability truly become force multipliers-Long are the days of 1 and done and if that was the case it would be head shots and caliber wouldn’t matter 1 bit .22Short would get the job done but anyone with a full duty sized 9mm and a full sized 16” 9mm carbine that takes the same magazines definitely has an edge! 115/124gr 9mm defensive ammo definitely turns into a different beast with a 16” barrel and 30 friends with it ready to rock and roll! 🎯🧐🤔💭✅ (If it’s a home invasion with more than one intruder follow up shots, speed and capacity are all force multipliers) 9mm has ammo like civil defense that does 2,000fps out of a pistol and 2,500fps plus out of a 16” carbine delivering 700ft/lbs of energy that’s in range with M4 .556 territory nothing to sneeze at! Modern 9mm does everything from hypersonic, supersonic to subsonic no problem! Get you a duty sized pistol and a carbine with 3 points of contact with some happy sticks and you will be a force to be reckoned with to anyone!
Once I got into 10mm, I could never go back to anything else. Especially the non watered down crap ammo.
Agreed. Unfortunately for many who may not really get into the history of the 10mil, “watered down” is the opinion of the shooter. I'm looking at getting a 10mm Springfield
I've had a 10mm XDM Elite 4.5 for a while and it has been flawless. @jaytackett6545
I carry 9mm and did in the Corps. This 10mm is CRAZY BEAST. I might buy myself a 10mm pistol now.
While I think 9mm is a good round, there are better choices if you’re not recoil sensitive. Obviously better. Excellent, thanks!
That stretch cavity of 10mm is insane!
I just gotta say, I love that you still go through the effort to use organic gel. I wish you would calibrate it, but just seeing someone who still gives enough of a shit to not take the easy way is refreshing. Thank you.
I second that statement. Organic gel gives the most realistic results especially the bullet penetration value.
To get the same sectional density for the two rounds, you should use a 147 grain bullet on the 9mm. Or, use a lighter bullet for the 10mm.
Yup you are right on SIG being one of the few general manufacturers up to par on velocity in the 10mm. Even their ball is running bout the same
All sig V crown is TOP NOTCH-(Something Sig has actually done rite)
@@dsrrecordsentwhat sig 10mm do you recommend over a Glock 40?

10mm rocks, great testing.👍
Thank you, I appreciate u checkin it out!!
The 9mm with proper ammo does well & sometimes I carry 9mm But the 10mm in a good loading like this one far outclasses it.
Rumor has it that Ft. Scott .40 S&W round is still going...

I hope you get your hands-on some G9EHP10 millimeter and 9 mm those tests would be on my top priority
Getting rid of all my 9 mm pistols.
Good idea, particularly before a major American election!
9mm can be traded for gold during ammo shortage *secretly hoarding 357 SIG*
I'll take em.
1200 fps out of the 29 is crazy good
Underwood does better
everyone knows the 10mm will perform better but with the 9mm you will get more ammo, cheaper and easier to find ammo to practice with, more accurate follow up shots.
You’ll need those follow up shots with 9mm Paraplegic…..Not so much with the 10 😂
Best bear gun caliber the other options is a 357 revolver and thats only 6 shots. A semi auto 10mm, you get any were from 13 to 16, and if you have to reload that aint a problem im a huge revolver fan but in bear County its the rock island doble stacked 1911 in 10mm 16 rounds
Wait. I thought it was 9mm that the president said blows the lungs out of the body. Did he lie to us?
Yep
Cmon man !! Buy a shotgun !!!
Beautiful job. Thanks.
10mm is hands down the best caliber for handguns
My Glock 19C got from 30 to 40 fps less with the ported barrel compared to a non ported barrel. This was with 115 grain range Ammo. About a 3.5% decrease.
V crowns are some of the best jhp’s on the market especially for the $.
Thanks for sharing!
Very good test as always! Thanks.
Thank you buddy, appreciate u checkin it out!!

Thank you my friend, always appreciate u checkin em out, glad u enjoy them!! Thank you again!! Plenty on the way😁👍.
Personally, for me, the 10mm is the father of all pistol calibers. You not gone wrong with the 10 in any circumstances.
I am not a 9 Hater. It is over 120 years old and has been the standard since it was introduced. I think that puts it at the top of the list for the world's most successful handgun cartridges.

massive teporrary strech cavity
Hey Az Gun Runner what are your preferred rounds for .357 sig?
Federal HST 125gr
The 10mm did great, the 9mm was a bit disappointing.
No way, you see that penatration. It would do the job.
You’re a lil slow ain’t you?
How was the 10mm recoil shooting back to back of compensated 9mm?
The 9 basically felt like it wasn't even there, .22ish, hardly any muzzle rise at all.. Very flat shooter. The 10 was definitely more stout for sure, u could really tell u had something there. Still manageable but quit a bit more.
How can these compare. One is for bad people and the other for Bears.
"Let's see that 10mm, that's a whole different story" lol

Well said
a 9mm cannot remotely compete with any 10mm worth speaking of. it could exceed low power fake 10mm if the 9 is +P+
The 9mm should not be compared to a real gun.
You can find better 10mm ammo

10MM for the win. 🏆 The ten rocks 🪨 just like your channel.
