I have never seen such a responsive car. Amazing how he throws the car into the corner and it turns. It’s like the car only understood the lenguaje of violence. I swear to god this is one of the fastest laps I’ve ever seen. Even by 2020 standars this car handles superbly.
starplayer324 Granted, the tyres were like babybel wax after it has been left in the sun for 5 hours, but it doesn’t hide from the fact that this car was awful on it’s tires. I never seen another team ever had problems with them to the extent that they did, even during the eggshell tyre era
I think this is one of the most evident proves that shows how difficult it must be to drive an f1 car. You barely touch the gas and the engine responds instantly
Yes my friend. And have some people say about F-1 today "its easy" "the car makes everthing" but this kind of people never seat in a racing car seat to see how its difficult.
Noticed something. Rosberg was already out of KERS, but he kept pressing it like CRAZY after the tunnel and on the final straight. He wasn't even thinking about it consciously (otherwise he would have registered KERS on the steering wheel was already at 0), he did it automatically!
Minus the blown diffuser. It sounds like the car was literally grinding gears. But the high revs are top-notch. I prefer the Renault V8s over the Mercedes low-revs however.
I agree and think Nico is amazing and would've gotten the title in 14 and 15 as well if his teammate was literally anybody else however after 2016 Hamilton was different was more consistent less mistakes and just much more refined
@@SharlesIII Raikkonen, Alonso, Vettel, Ricciardo, Verstappen would all have beaten Rosberg in 2014 or 2015 in the other Merc. Rosberg is the second weakest WDC after Jenson this century.

Hey guys wait a minute. I think driver of the video may be Nico Rosberg, the same Nico Rosberg that won the 2016 FIA Formula One championship to sir Lewis Carl Hamilton (seven times world champion) and also won Michael Schumacher (seven times world champion) on the same machinery!
Rough calculation shows that the final sector time is under 18 seconds which is quicker than the 2019 (supposedly fastest era) Monaco qualifying sector 3 fastest time. I also love this sound and this car.
Someone did a side-by-side between Kubica's 2010 lap vs. Raikkonnen's 2017 lap and from what I see, it's that extra eighth gear that makes most of the difference. Cornering looks about the same, but in the straights, the new cars can maintain higher speeds.
I'm curious to see how well this car would fare against the all-time fastest cars if it had softer compounds of tire like the 2016 hypersoft or the tread compound of the 2018 hypersoft on this tire width. This car got around (completely changed direction through) the right hand part of the Nouvelle chicane in under a second on these tires.
I strongly believe Monaco is important for showing us how RIDICULOUSLY they reach such speeds in freaking city STREETS. I mean sometimes they exit one street corner at 70Km/h, with only, like 90 meters to the next corner, & still they manage to CATAPULT themselves to that corner at like 150Km/h. If you don’t realize how ridiculous this is, well hopefully now you do. Within the length of a Football field, they go from 200 down to 70Km/h, & all the way up to 150Km/h again before breaking for the slowest corner in the F1 calendar. It’s absolute madness. Forget the top-speeds (ok, 290Km/h in the city is wild though), but the acceleration & the breaking power of these cars, that’s what people need to wrap their heads around. Brutal.
This was the first truly good Mercedes F1 car. Nico won twice, Lewis won once. They took multiple poles and podiums. Schumi would have definitely won races with this car as well. It would have been so cool to see him drive for Merc in 2013, especially after the extremely unlucky 2012 season.
Kyong Hansen faster times, he’s implying. Wider tyres = more overall mechanical grip = better times. The engineers can balance the car set up based on the regulation parameters. I don’t understand why you were trying to play devils advocate to 1+1=2 situation.
@@Cyogenic 18 inch tyres does not mean that they would be wider. it describes the diameter of the wheel rims. yes, wider tyres give more mechanical grip in general. but 18 inch tyres are heavier and give less grip than the current 13 inch ones.

This is by far the best footage that I've seen. Insane driving skills from Rosberg

ik 2017 pole is faster, but this onboard feels so much more exciting because of the sound of the v8. The 2017 engines still sound like vacuums.
