Raisin Bran Many top recruits from HS don’t pan out. OJ Mayo was top of his class, currently out of the league. Jared Sullinger was top 2 in his class. I could on but I believe the point has been made- even getting into the NBA is an accomplishment, finding a role even more so.

That explains why he declines NBA head coach offers... Once Coach K becomes an ACTUAL head coach, he has a high chance of crumbling his rep and clout that he has built in Duke. Brad Stevens remains to be the greatest head coach to come out of college in this generation, only him. I'm starting to think that the One and Done Rule should not happen anymore...
Coach K never intended to ever leave Duke. He used those NBA coaching opportunities to hold Duke hostage and get more money. Coach K is a garbage human being who treats his players horribly, and Coach K has committed numerous violations, which will all come out in the years to come.

Coach K is also responsible for the worst defeat in the history of a USA national team. Greece - USA 101-95. It was the only time any team scored more than 100 points against a USA national team. USA team roster included Lebron, Wade, Boss, Carmello, Cris Paul, Dwight Howard while Greece had no NBA player.

Great vid as usual, I've thought this same thing for years, and when in 2k17 your MyPlayer gets that call from Coach K I was about vomiting out the window. I never saw that clip of LBJ turning his back on K before, that is REALLY telling.
Side note: interesting how it's such a thin line in storytelling to what makes a person really stand out (as in Bill on Coach Red vs MJ on himself/Kobe on himself).
i have a theory on college basketball coaches on how they coach the game and how the college basketball is so vastly different from the nba in specifically how the game is played but they over coach every moment and it usually backfires bc a player doesn't have any freedom to just play

I knew at times he was bs’ing, but I didn’t care. Seems like his own unique style. While not taking himself too seriously, he still lines the narrative with thought-provoking perspectives. I barely care about the subject and still watched the whole thing…well done!

College Basketball is a multi billion dollar business for networks and universities. Also not all players have NBA ready talented or maturity out of high school. This is GOLD !!! Being a Melbourne man I was stoked when our Boy Ben Simmons called out the NCAA ( Benny don’t give a fuck ) I had heard the stories about coach K and never like him much. There used to be this video I could from the local video shop called ‘ triumph on Tobacco Road ‘ and in coach K is defending NCAA , he says (obviously in his hi pitch punishing tone ) ‘ people say college sports are bad , I just wanna WHACK everybody who says that , college sports are great ‘. Gotta say you have a very interesting channel that I enjoy, but pertaining to this piece, I don't believe a coach achieves a 78 percent win percentage in D-1 level basketball without being legendary. I absolutely LOATHE Coach K and the Dookies, but he is a living legend. There is simply no other way to slice it.
Your title is Coach K is a Fraud - yet the argument seems to say that college basketball is tainted. So... I not really sure I followed the point of the video. It seems to me, you're trying to build your repertoire by using Coach K as click bait. Also, I didn't hear any new arguments against Duke or any new perspective that Duke haters haven't already said. In essence, you have potential - but in my opinion you have some work to do.

This is the most ridiculous video I’ve watched. College basketball is so far superior to the NBA on so many levels. The only thing that Ais better about the NBA is the level of talent. College players actually care about the game and show much more love and intensity for the game. They have pride and loyalty to the school they play for. Rather than the millionaires in tgr NBA. Half of the players in the league barely even care if they win or lose outside of the playoffs. College games are more exciting also with WAYYYY better crowds, fanbases, and arenas. Another factor is the coaching in college means so much more to the game than the coaches in the league. Coaches in college have way more control of their teams and the game in general, while the NBAs coaches barely even coach. The players control the game and mostly do their own thing. Another thing that makes college more exciting is the amazing rivalries that you just don’t see in thr NBA. I could go on and on but I’m done trying to explain when it should already be obvious. I’m not even going to speak on the Coach K hatred because it is so absurd to speak about the greatest coach to ever walk on a hardwood floor

I’m a Duke fan and prefer college basketball over the NBA, but lots of this was true. But at the same time, some of it is hand-wavy, bc similar things can be said in other cases. Coach K is a legend and you don’t win as many games on a consistent basic as he has without being a good coach. He’s not the GOAT though. GOAT in college, probably maybe. All time? Naw. Doesn’t develop players, whines a lot, has poor offensive and defensive schemes, has become a primma Donna, etc. But lots of this is bc he knows how to adapt to the game and rides kids for money and titles. He hated one and done, but that’s the only way to survive now. He’s aware of how the system works (partly bc he helped create it). Can’t really fault him to a certain extent.
I am english and i know next to nothing about basketball. In spite of this i still really enjoy your videos.

Waaaait go back to 14:56 I think no matter who your coach is, as a player, a professional, you give them that managerial respect of showing that you are taking into consideration what they’re saying, regardless of your personal feelings towards them. If you’re coaching and a player does that (neglects eye contact) with you it 99% of the time should be them who deserves to be punished or reprimanded for such disrespect, I don’t care if you’re lebron or just a role player that shit does not fly, for a team led by one manager implementing a certain strategy (as in all sports) it is integral to the foundation of your play style that you take into consideration and show that you are listening to to what that main head of the team is saying. I believe you are wrong, as the coach, he ABSOLUTELY deserves that eye contact and respect and if someone can’t acknowledge that then they are detrimental to the idea of there being no “I” in team. Do you think an army general accepts his soldiers turning their back on him? No, that’s treason, all I’m saying is, for the sake of your entire team, treat your coach with respect, if you have a problem with them talk it out like men because that’s what you are supposed to be.
