Its time to be honest - I have a confession. But on my way to that confession, we will make stops at Kobe Bryant's most pivotal moment in his career, Patrick Ewing and Tim Duncan's biggest failures and some more of the NBA most particular moments. Oh and yes a deep dive into the 2016 NBA Finals where the Warriors lost to the Cleveland Cavs in a painful game 7 that i can't stop thinking about. Steph curry, Lebron James and Kevin Love all get their time in the barrel. All that with and a glass of wine. Enjoy!

13k after 10 hours... I normally would not give a 'potato' about youtuber xyz blowing up but you are REAL talent my man. Not just, 'can talk ok in front of a camera for 10 minutes' youtube talent, you are genuine next level; funny, concise, meta. The editing is phenomenal, the script is genius, the delivery is fantastic. Genuinely happy for you. I do worry though that you scrape off a little too much of the thin veneer of the story line for the higher ups to be comfortable with you; look what happened to Bill Simmons. People just don't seem to want to know that Stephen A Smiths opinions are just for ratings but whatever... Congrats man, can't wait for the next video.
This video brought me goosebumps and umm tears? Throughout the whole video, you said everything a diehard 20 year warrior fan like myself wanted to say, including how deep down we all just want that guy to just leave so we can get good old Steph back again, even if that means we’ll win less championships..and tbh, the TAKE THAT SHOT moment will haunt me forever, I will ABDOLUTELY trade the 2 championships that followed to get that shot back, to make the magical 2016 complete. If I remember correctly, it wasn't his knees in this case but a injured/strained left calf muscle that wouldn't allow him to get the lift he needed to dunk. That's why he has the white sleeve on his left calf/leg.

So... here's why everybody is WRONG about this play.

FALSE! Here's why.
3 down... 30 seconds to go. That's 1 FULL possession and they NEED 3 points just to give the Cavs the final shot, right?
So... this means GS NEEDS a 3... badly... so why are they putting Love on the best 3 point shooter in the league?
That would be because... K-Love doesn't have to worry about being blown by. If Curry blew by Kevin Love for a layup... so fucking what? Cavs have the lead. GS will foul... most likely both free-throws will be made... 3 up again (and that's IF Curry makes a 2 point shot or layup. If he doesn't... that's pretty much game.
Kevin SEEMS like the worst choice to be on Curry, but in reality, he's tall... and he doesn't have to worry about being blown by.
Curry DID blow by Kevin Love. Love GAVE that blowby to Curry, but Curry knew he needed a 3, not a 2. If this were a normal play, Curry would take the layup and Kevin love would look like a fool, but the clock and the scoreboard allowed Kevin Love to press Curry harder than he actually is capable of doing.
This was not "epic defense" by Kevin Love. I mean... Kevin Love did what he's supposed to do... he's fine. He smothered Curry's 3 point shot, caution to the wind. Kevin gave zero fucks that Curry was in position to blow by him... and he was right to give zero fucks.
THIS was not an epic Kevin Love play... it was not a terrible Curry play... what this actually was... is great defensive coaching to put Kevin Love on Curry.

Yes, he did. It was actually a screen switch into a second screen switch... and it was clearly anticipated because Kevin Love took Curry before Curry's screen even got there.
It's actually FANTASTIC switching.
I mean... I don't know if you can call it great D on Love's part... Curry could have blown by easily, so... Love's assignment was pretty easy... get in his face and keep the arms up.
Having said that, Curry might have gotten a sliver of daylight and launched a screened shot earlier in the clock if Kevin wasn't already there. Kevin making the switch as early as he did (despite not being able to keep up with Curry) did fuck up GS' plans.
They didn't absolutely NEED the 3. Even running down the shot clock there was still 30 seconds left, which is enough time for a 2 for 1. Love knew Steph wanted the three though, so he overplayed and allowed the blowby (knowing Steph wouldn't take it). Steph assumed hed be able to shake Love for a closer shot , which he would've if Love played anything close to straight up. Great awareness by Love to lock Steph in that specific situation.

I'm a Dubs fan, and I barely even watch games anymore since KD joined. Dude came in and put a big ass asterisk next to all the achievements this team can pull off while he's there. This shit isn't fun, there's no risk, so no reward either. It was glorious to watch this organically built team rise to the top. Was. Fuck off KD, go get your own rings.

awesome video, every sports fan has that moment they wish went differently. that they wish their team could replay. i feel the same way about the seahawks in the super bowl against the patriots. their "shot" was running the football to marshawn lynch. but no, they decided to pass on the goalline and the rest in history. im sure these players think about this stuff all the time, and it's a shame that legends of the game like ewing will be forever plagued by one shot out of the thousands they attempted in their careers.

I’ve felt this way ever since the Warriors acquired Kevin Durant, it took the fun out of watching Steph, Klay, and Draymond every night. I’d been a fan since the ‘12 - 13’ season when Steph truly ascended to stardom in that series against the Spurs. Everybody could see, we had next (or at least had a bright future). Now, that we are at the top of the NBA, it doesn’t feel like I hoped it would. Steph isn’t at the helm anymore, dancing, shimmying his way past defenders, chucking 3s from 30 or so feet out. Instead, it’s the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets and I’m watching KD post up Ariza and shoot 8 footer after 8 footer. He ruined the Warriors storyline/narrative, we had the little guy, kinda bigger guy, and the nut-kicker and heck, we were destined for greatness. I wish we never got KD. And I’ve said that ever since the Summer of 2016.

Say KD was injured for 2 years, Cleveland would have probably repeated in 2017 and warriors would have probably lost against a healthy spurs team. 2018 they would have probably lost against the rockets or spurs and frankly maybe Utah, but why? Well the league figured out Steph curry, kerr, lacob and the whole GSW organization realized this probably in the OkC series of 2016. That’s why they went to get the best player in the world

Luckily okc choked even worse but Cavs are one, They lost game 1 to Spurs not saying they would lose the series but still. And losing 3-2 before Paul got injured even though we all know warriors were a better team. History shows curry needs the big advantage on other teams. No adversity. Now I'm not saying the choking was all his fault KD was choking free throws all series vs rockets but he's gotta step up.
Nets 4life LMAO durant kept them alive in that series game 1 and game 7 KD torched them (steph didnt score that much until the 4th when the rockets had lost their cofidence and with no CP3 guarding curry), Klay kept them alive game 6 and game the rest of the games they lost or were mediocre. Curry needs to take responsibility if he wants to be seen as an all time great, yet in the last 4 years time and time again he fails to deliver when it matters. Yeah it sure as hell is fun watchin him drop 50 against the nets, hawks and sub 30 win teams, nut that just wont cut it in the playoffs.

I disagree with your take, simply because it doesn't take into account the fact that Curry was injured during the 2016 playoffs. Don't take it from me, take it from people within the Cavs organization who confessed that they changed the way they played Curry after realizing that his mobility was hampered from his injury.

Thank you! We didn't want Durant! I liked that the team was built that way and everyone worked very hard to reach the top then KD joined the team and made it less fun and interesting. And he made it less challenging. It was already a forgone conclusion that they were gonna win the next year and Houston was the only challenge last year. I think this year will be way more exciting and I do think KD will join another team after this season because he cares too much what others think and he knows joining the Dubs has affected his lagacy.
