Dave save yourself a lot of trouble install a lifetime leak proof Ecoplug motor oil drain plug $14.99 and you will never have to worry about your oil pan threads leaking ever again Best of all changing the oil with Ecoplug is safe fast and easy.AMAZING PRODUCT!
Hi Lance,
I looked at the web site for the ecoplug oil drain. It looks like it could be a good solution to a stripped oil plug. At the time I made this video, I did not find this product. The steel pan application looks very easy with the ecoplug, but when you have a problem with a cast aluminum pan, the installation of the ecoplug is a little more involved. If you do it the way I show, it will take a little time and only the cost of a new bolt which is probably less than $1.00. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Did you know that a Chrysler 1945 carburetor can be replaced by a Ford 1946 carburetor? The Ford carb. has the choke on the carburetor. The Chrysler carb. has the choke on the intake. If necessary, remove the base part and transfer it to the Ford carb. for the vacuum hoses. The Ford carb. has a fast idle screw. The Ford carb. doesn't have a mixture screw. If necessary, remove the float from the Chrysler carb. and put it on the Ford carb. for the float setting. Set the fast idle according to specs.
