  • A new and updated video on installing the Kitaco iMap CDI to a fuel injected Honda Zoomer.
I think I screwed my first iMap up when installing wrongly, it didn't seem to do anything to the bike at all. Decided to buy another and make a more detailed video of the install process. Hope I got it right this time !
Testing videos will follow as the current Coronavirus lockdown situation allows.

Well I must say that I’m really glad that your post made it through from Japan ok. I am still waiting for mine from Thailand after 32 (yes 32) days.
And now for the big test. Hope the little zoomer goes better now and knowing that your parcel got through the post ok, I’m tempted to order a cylinder kit now.
Looking forward to the test ride video now 😉
    Best regards
    Scoots

hello Simon, I have now succeeded in achieving the fuel increase.
We have followed your instructions. In my case, however, there is no blue/green cable on the black plug of the coupler set, only a brown/green one. Are there different cable sets?
    Greetings from Braunschweig/Germany

Hi, I’ve had a look at the Honda wiring diagram for my FI Zoomer, and the black plug shows both a brown/green and a blue/green cable attached to it. It’s possible your bike may be different ?? Best wishes from Edinburgh, Scotland

Bottom line does it improve speed or torque

Hello please could you tell me where you purchased your IMAP?

Hi, purchased the iMap from Webike in Japan:

Would installing this remove the topspeed restriction on my Zoomer? It is completely stock, is there a pre-installed map for that? Glancing over it seems like dipswitch 1, 2 and 3 are for engines with kitaco airfilter and exhaust and switch4 is for custom map, but people online say switch4 works for stock setups so I dunno.
Also did the wiring diagram come in the package?
I dont really care about speed personally, but it IS very slow and people get pretty agressive if there is not enough room to get around 😅

Hi, I can only go with my own experiences. I found the pre-set dip switches did absolutely nothing, it was only when I uploaded my own fuel maps using the PCLink cable that there was a noticeable improvement. The biggest difference was in initial acceleration which actually makes the Zoomer a far more practical bike in city situations. I’ve no doubt I could have got more top speed too if I had played around with the air filter, roller weights and re-installed the aftermarket exhaust the bike came with, but like you I wasn’t too bothered with top speed. The bike hit 37 mph tops and that was good enough for me, it was the acceleration improvement that made it a whole lot more fun to ride.
I’m pretty sure the wiring diagram does come with the iMap (been a while since I installed it), but it’s in Japanese.

      Thanks for reply!
I am really just looking to remove the topspeed restriction, for some reason mine hits the limit at 25mph instead of 28 😕 37 would actually be perfect since that is the limit around here before police can penalize it too heavily 😆

@@Myndi78 25 is certainly too low, even for a stock bike. I wonder if the variator weights are too light, so much depends on the weight of the rider, what you’re carrying on the bike etc. Rather than splash out on the iMap I’d be inclined to start with a performance variator such as a Polini. Might be worth checking your drive belt too, make sure it’s in good condition. There is something slightly amiss somewhere.

@@scottishzoomer I sent it to a mechanic for a valve-adjustment (slight rattle but nothing too serious), I am hoping that might do something otherwise I heard that the fuelpump a weakpoint aswell.
But it seems like it is the ECU cutting off early, and I've also been experiencing that I cannot give full throttle so I am trying to figure out how to reset the ECU (wich should reset the throttleposition).
On the american Ruckus it is a pretty simple procedure, but I can't see if the Zoomer has the same plug since mine is at the shop 😅

@@scottishzoomer oh and yes I do plan on getting a polini variator aswell at some point 👌

What about the results? How does it measure up to the Polini performance wise?

    • @scottishzoomer
      @scottishzoomer  3 роки тому +1

r1sk3z simply installing the iMap unit doesn’t seem to do anything much. It is only when you have the Kitaco PC Link Cable that you can create your own fuel maps by plugging it into a laptop. Now that I have the cable my latest two videos demonstrate this 👍

@@scottishzoomer thanks, interesting stuff you're posting. I have a Zoomer as well, and I'm running the Polini, but i also have an imap, with the connector cable, if you wouldn't mind, once you're done adjusting the custom map, I'd love to give it a try and upload it to my Zoomer. Thanks.

r1sk3z unfortunatly it’s not my cable, I’ve been loaned it by a friend, might bite the bullet and buy my own one as the map I uploaded over the weekend has transformed the Zoomers performance. Latest video coming this evening with update.
