I have a Flexihand, Red Iguana and a Glamerliz (listed from fave to least which is interesting because prices are also least expensive to most expensive) and this is BY FAR my favorite hand. I bought the set of 2 and pretty much only use those now, also the upgraded version. I get you about price as well. I spent so much on the "names" and wish I would have bought these first. Thanks for your honest video! Hopefully this will help others who are waffling also.

I too am glad I found this video, I was about to also buy a red iguana hand because I wasn't sure about this hand, so THANK YOU! I'm ordering mine right now and it's only $54 on Amazon now. I agree that red iguana is outrageously expensive and all you're paying for is the name, in all honesty.
This one is a good one. It has thicker cuticles than most of the other ones on Amazon. Red iguana is just ridiculous. 200 dollars and i know a few people who had their break within a month. The wires inside the fingers just snapped. And they don’t replace it

It's very expensive and I had so much trouble south red iguanas customer service. It was so bad. Red iguana also has issues with the inner metal rods snapping fairly quickly. This one will get the job done for sure
I bought one two weeks ago from eBay .same company. The box wasn't as nice but the quality was there. I paid $55.00 ans it came in perfect timing. Loving this brand!

Yeah shipping was so much faster than they said! It was a nice surprise. I've been using it everyday and it's holding up so well
I purchased a pair of Know U hands on Feb. 1 and received them on Feb. 8. I also bought a clamp for each hand. Very good packaging and quick shipping. My hands came in a higher quality bag, replacing the clear mesh bag. The clamps are sturdy; however, I will be placing some sort of material inside the clamps to protect both table and hands. As they are now, the plastic clamp has a slight slide being plastic against a smooth surface (not a big deal). My #4 hands have a more peach tone color which I like more than the lighter pale colors (personal opinion). Very happy with my purchase.
FYI: On another video, she uses aluminum foil wraps to soak off gel polish, polygel, and nail tips. This saves on going through unneccessary acetone. Acrylic will probably need dipped.

@@kristimayes2017 I am a beginner and want to learn acrylic. That will have to wait until I have money to spend on the products. For now, it will give me the opportunity to practice on my artistic skills with gel polish designs, (desperately needed) applying and shaping nails with polygel, and using my new portable Airsee efile. Working on my nails is a stress reducer, so this will save my nails having my new hands to work with anytime.

I’m done with plastic hand too...I think anyone after a little bit of practice can do nails on those plastic hands. I think this kind of hand would give more of a realistic feeling
Absolutely. What the plastic hand doesn't teach you is cuticle work. They're great for learning basic application though. But you need the silicone to get the light touch down
Also I feel you on the red iguana. Their customer service is horrible. I purchased a hand back in November and USPS sent it back bc my address isn't registered and I immediately emailed red iguana about it and I didn't get any response back until I reached out to afterpay when I wanted to file for a refund which was last month. I literally emailed them back a few days later after they sent their first email and I still haven't gotten a response. Only way to get in any sort of communication is go on their Instagram and complain and even then they give a sorry ass excuse about them being a small business. I'm just gonna buy the pair for this one and file a dispute with my bank.
I got into a little scuffle on their instagram too. I waited a month and I needed to update something on my order, my order still hadn't started processing and they ignored every attempt to reach them. Two weeks later I finally went on ig and they basically told me tough. The tried to act like I was making it up because the names were different on my order and ig. They said they have no contact with customer service but after I told them to cancel it, somehow it got cancelled. Everyone in the comments was saying I need to be understanding because there were delays with usps yadda yadda. But it never got that far. 6 weeks it sat there and never processed. And it isn't that hard to answer emails. If they can have someone post on instagram all day they can have someone do emails. And if they're complaining about being so backed up and unable to fill prefers, why were they still taking orders? It was just ridiculous
@@kristimayes2017 That's what I'm saying and the people in the comments are the worse. If they're such a small company as they claim to be then they shouldn't continue to take orders like a big company. Also yes, if they can have ppl posting on their IG they can definitely have get someone to answer the emails. They're full of shit and I'm over them.
I'm with you. A lot of the smaller companies are getting much better with the hands and it's barely half the price. There's no reason to take that crap anymore. We speak with our wallets
You should try double sided sticky tape to get the nails to stick to the hand so you don’t have to glue then soak
Someone else suggested it and I tried it, and it sticks to the nails but not the hand. It just sides right off

Red Iguana was actually the one who invented these hands, others are just copied her really brilliant idea. A lot of brands have a small square cross body bag, but Chanel is still Chanel 👌

Hi! New friend to your channel. I love watching creative nail videos because I too am interested in learning to do unique nails. I mainly do beauty subscription box openings over on my channel but I had to take a break from doing videos to fight triple negative breast cancer this past year. Sadly I lost all my pretty hair, lashes and brows due to strong chemo therapy plus it messed with my nails too so it’s been almost a year since I’ve got to even put a clear coat on my nails. I was so weak and sick from the many months of treatment I wasn’t able to do much of anything but I’m starting to heal and feeling better and thankfully after having a double mastectomy to remove the lump I’m in remission and in the process of breast reconstruction. I have been documenting this past year of my cancer journey and hope to now finally get all those videos edited up into one video and share it on my channel as my comeback video letting my UA-cam friends know what’s been going on. I hope to get that up soon plus get back to doing videos myself now that I’m feeling better and looking more like myself once again. I also hope to add doing nail vids to my channel too and thanks to you along with many other nail creators you all have truly inspired me to do nails. I hope to be as creative and talented as you are at doing nails someday sweet friend. I hope we can chat and connect because I love getting to make new forever friends. I just got mine yesterday and I didn’t have any tips, and the cuticles are then like the first one you showed even though the description says it’s the upgraded version.
I would definitely contact them, it sounds like they sent the wrong one. Make them exchange it
Red Iguana is horrible. No customer service, my rods broke within a month of me using it twice. Another finger rod broke again last night. Definitely trying this out. Is it thick like the red iguana cuticles? I have the first version to this hand and don’t like it.
This one isn’t as thick, but much thicker than their first version. And there is one more with very very thick cuticles. It’s the one i use now and I’ve beat it to death and not a scratch. However it isn’t poseable. It does come attached to the clamp though. I’ll link it below. But the one in the video is much much better than the first one

It doesn’t look as sturdy as the red iguana hand, like the cuticle area is thinner, but I was thinking about getting this one for actual practice and just using my R-I for photos. I love my R-I hand but I am way more careful with it than my “beater” practice hands. I think I’ll be getting this as my next cheap one. Have you tried Nail Nobility’s hand? That’s the one I currently use.
I’ve seen the Nail nobility hand but haven’t used it. It looks great. Really realistic. Is it very durable?
Im sure the red iguana cuticles are probably thicker but The cuticles on this one are pretty decent, i gave it to a friend and she’s still using it every day, and i beat the crap out of it. And you can get it for around $35-40 now so it is definitely good to beat up.
I got another one from this brand and the cuticles are absolutely indestructible, it comes with the clamp attached (not the one with the ball clamp already on it) but it isn’t poseable. It’s weird. I love it. lol. This is it. I did a video on it as well

@@kristimayes2017 I like the nail nobility as a beater, but the cuticle pockets aren’t as deep (think 10mm vs 14cm) which means I can do nails in the nobility and put them in the iguana, but not exactly the other way around. Compared to the RI, the nobility material is not as dense, more jiggly which I don’t mind. It’s easier to spread the fingers. Mine would be in pristine condition but I didn’t know that nail glue (dip powder glue) would hurt the silicone. So it was user error. I want to get another to compare it will that’s also cheap and see how they all compare. Rather addicting isn’t it 🤣
@@JA-jh7ip it really is lol. I love them. The one in this video isn’t really jiggly at all. It’s soft though. My new one is sturdy as a brick and the clamp is awesome. Both have the deep pockets. But as far as money this one in the video is much more affordable and definitely gets it done.
I have to use glue on them cause I’m an aggressive filer 🤣 i RUINED my first one not knowing because it said glue was ok. I started laying down basecoat or top coat before i glued it and it helped.
I also got a tube of silpoxy, it’s messy and hard to work with but it is good for filling in the dents the glue left.
Now i remove with acetone and a stiff brush. Lesson learned lol
@@kristimayes2017 I’ll let you know how the nail nobility compares when I have another brand to compare with ☺️ I think it’s moderately durable but it’s hard to say.. definitely not as durable as RI but those are different standards and price ranges. I also want to try Handolly because I’ve heard they’re just as durable or more durable than RI but cheaper.
I guess the nobility isn’t jiggly, but it is softer too. Maybe not as soft as the cheapest hands. Hard to say without having other brands yet.

Mines came with a suction clamp? Was it supposed too? Also the #4 I got looks peach instead of a reddish brown tip? But other than the color I love it. The cuticle is so much better than the whole hand one.
Mine didn't come with a clamp. I had the red iguana clamp that I'm using. I thought mine was going to be darker. It ended up much lighter than the pic but definitely an improvement over the previous one

What is the blue towelette you're using?
Those are just regular blue shop towels. They work great for wiping acrylic off and they help cut down the smell so much more than paper towels

@@kristimayes2017 I just got knowu hands 2 days ago, my 1st realistic practice hand ive been doing nails for 2.5yrs now and teach a training course for 1yr. I never had realistic silicone hands to practice on before I almost feel nervous all over again 😬
It's such a great feeling though. The excitement. I was terrified I was going to destroy it lol. I was waving at my entire family with it for days 😂 I feel better knowing I wasn't alone in being nervous. If a pro like you was nervous then it's ok for me to be lol
