I love you guys, thanks for watching! ♥ - Навчання та стиль
✨Here's the link to buy the paddles: etsy.me/3pIcuPa
Thank you guys so much for the support!
That's a steal of a price if you ask me! They came out beautiful! And you put lots of hrs in to it keep up the good work!
@@somen000b how much are they I can’t see them for some reason
Amazing work both of you! Love that the guy who built a canoe has never paddled a canoe.
Haha that came as a total surprise to me also, seeing as he rows competitively almost every day of the week ;) Thanks for watching Ryan.
Imagine spending a year building a canoe, getting out on the water, trying paddling for the first time and being like 'this sucks actually' lol
@@fohkukohgeki haha
@@fohkukohgeki I know right! Have you seen Acorn to Arabella? He’s been building a yacht for years, can’t sail
@@MakeWithMiles I love the fact that a guy who canoes competitively every day of the week has never paddled a canoe before 🤣
Rory made a cedar strip canoe before ever going canoeing. Now that’s commitment 😂
I know this video has been up for a while but I just found it. I think these paddles are stunning! Tip for the resin bubbles, I think they came from inside the Kumiko pieces as the resin saturated the wood. You might want to consider sealing the interior wood pieces with stabilizing resin before you pour the epoxy to eliminate the bubbles and spray the top with isopropyl alcohol.
Incredible work, Miles!! They turned out amazing!!!
Thank you guys so much! This project wouldn't have happened without your support!
Looks like some air may have left the Kumiko timber pieces, too. Not a bad idea to seal the timber first before the epoxy.
HOLY SHIT MILES! THIS WORK IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! YOU'RE INCREDIBLE MY DUDE!
Thank you so much pal! It wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly without your advice. Much love!!
How are you so knowledgeable and so skilled at such a young age 😮 , your parents must be so incredibly proud
This man's been super spoiled with a gorgeous canoe and paddle for his very first time! Couldn't stop grinning, hope he has many epic adventures
Beautiful Miles! Beautiful paddles, amazing video. Pulls at your mama's heart to see both yours and Rory's beautiful creations in one video. Fitting as a lead up to finishing high school together. Thank you for sharing your work with the world.
This videos is really good. Like the actual content is so interesting, plus the music and cinematography is nuts. Instant classic.
Man that means a lot. The editing, music selection and filming is the part I look forward to most 😄
@@MakeWithMiles ❤️
I thought the white epoxy was going to turn out bad but i actually love how the walnut goes with the resin! All three paddles look really slick you're really talented
This channel has some of the most beautiful & practical woodworking I’ve seen :) good job!
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that comment.
I can tell your getting mor confident on camera! Dude it looks sick!
Okay that’s freaking cool. Best paddle set ever
The end footage is so peaceful man. Top notch video as always. :)
Excellent choice in music - top notch production. You have another dedicated subscriber, Sir!
Miles, I am now literally obsessed with your videos and artworks!! your editing skills are also pretty dope, it's so satisfying to watch. keep up the great work✊❤️
Awesome work Miles--appreciate how you seek to express yourself not just in the woodworking and crafting, but in the filming and editing too. The videos have a great sense of rhythm and momentum that keeps easy attention all the way through. Can't wait for the next one.
Dooood I love watching the come up. Killer work, wood and vids.
This is a very underrated channel! Incredible work man! keep it up!
Wauww, the whole project, the filming and monster editing convinced me - new subscriber here!! Cheers from Denmark
Super builds, Miles. Keep up the exploration of your making and thanks for letting us tag along!
Thanks Tom, will do!
@@MakeWithMiles There are a lot of spammy replies in your comments, just in case you haven't noticed. I've already reported a bunch.
Unreal! Great project, great vid! I'll be back for more
Beautifully done Miles!
Amazing work. A tip I was given years ago, turn the gallon jug on it's side when pouring. This will get rid of the chugging and give you a steady pour.
Good tip here. When on it's side, if it's a jug with an offset opening, keep the opening up (towards the top).
great craftmanship Miles. looks amazing
those are like stupidly gorgeous pieces.
and your friend’s canoe is so so cool too!
one of my favorite videos
What a piece of art! Wonderfully crafted!
That's literally art these two made!! Love it!😍
A successful designer and builder plus going to college. Impressive!
The craftmanship on the paddle is amazing.
Really cool designs!
Something to consider if you haven't already is painting on a thin coat of resin around the wood and letting it dry before doing the deep pour. Sealing the wood first can also prevent bubbles!
Only issue with the kumiko pattern is being able to scuff the dried resin in the hard to reach parts, but I don't doubt you've already figured out a solution!
Astounding!! Great work!!
Very well done, your workmanship and your filming. bravo!
Beautiful! That's the only word that can describe your work. Thank u
Fantastic job Miles
You are a true artist!
Beautiful work!!!
Man, you are super talented. Glad I found your channel! I’ve been wanting to make a paddle for a while - gonna do it now. Keep up the good work!
Both your work is beautiful!
Dude, this is an amazing video! Both the project itself as well as your videography and editing, which is next level. Well done, Miles!
Really glad the clear epoxy worked out with this paddle, it looks amazing.😁👍
I cannot decide on which I love the most, they're all fricken' beautiful.
This cinematography is incredible!!
Absolutely stunning work! Each video makes me more excited to see what your next project is!
Omg these are gorgeous!
Incredible work! I'm stunned.
very beautiful craftsmanship
Mate, I've just stumbled upoon your channel and I've never seen such incredible woodworking in my life. Phenomenal work and a phenomenal film. Thank you for sharing
Loved this video miles! We got to see alot more of your personality in this one and i enjoyed that a LOT
And as usual, beautiful cinematography and camera work :) keep up the great work!
I didn't think I was going to like the white epoxy, but I like it better than the black. Nice work!
The white epoxy really pops and looks amazing
The cinematography is amazing in this
Insane how you got the pattern that thin. Truly nice work
More outstanding kumiko work! They all look pretty sweet but I think the one with black epoxy is my favorite. And it goes well with the guitar and amp. 😁 Great job, and some fantastic aerial shots at the end there. Thanks for sharing!
Man, thank you Seth! Appreciate you watching all the way till the ender shots ;)
New favorite channel. Your stuff is incredible, you’re super skilled.
Wow! They look amazing! You should build some longboards!
That's gorgeous! Congratulations once more man. 👏🏼🔥👏🏼
Thank you so much Fabio!
A beautiful canoe deserves a beautiful paddle!
really cool! i work in a commercial wood shop and i'm really impressed with what youre able to build with your limited setup. awesome ideas, keep them coming! :)
This deserves way more views... love watching your skills and hard work. You're a solid friend. I would be so grateful if one of my friends invested that much time and effort into a gift for me. You're a dope guy Miles
Right on man. Ive done woodworking for many years but have never tried kumiko. Maybe I will.
Very cool!
Nice work,
Love your builds!!
Great video, well done. Rad paddle, all three of them. Gorgeous. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Very cool! Good job.
Amazing! Also love how you‘re wearing the laura kampf shirt :)
Great work man, really beautiful!
Great job man👏👏👏
Awesome design! It’s amazing you got it so thin and it’s still able to hold up in use.
Thank you so much! I was kinda worried about it's durability haha. I ended up fiberglassing all of them after I finished the video, and it stiffened them up quite a bit.
This is so awesome man! You could try using mold release for releasing the plastic from the epoxy. Awesome work man!
Another awesome kumiko project and that disc sander jig might be the thing that gets me into it! I was too lazy to even consider using chisels
I found you after watching ten hundreds video, and I can't believe the quality of your videos! They are amazing, you are inspiring. Keep it up.
Very beautiful design. Awesome job. Hopefully he gets great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
Thanks Jared! Really appreciate your support!!
@@MakeWithMiles your welcome. Can't wait to see what you make next.
You have the most creative mind very talented keep at it you do amazing work it will take you to great strides🎉
You keep on impressing me man, awesome stuff!!
they're looking amazing
Beautiful!!
Amazing work! FYI, Ottertail is more effective when paddling solo or at the back.
Awsom. I really love your effort and idears and you are even able to make an entertaining video! 👍👍👍 pritty amazing
Amazing work!
Another stellar build and entertaining video Miles! Rory's canoe looks amazing too!
Kelli, thank you so much! I had a lot of fun with this one ;) And Rory's boat turned out fantastic.
I’m amazed at your work!! You have such a magnificent style and talent. I’ve been watching your videos and you’re killing it!! One suggestion. You might want to consider using a vacuum bag when using epoxy or fiberglass. It would eliminate the bubbles.
These paddles make me want to buy a canoe
Shore I enjoy this video, you are so creative and your are relay thinking outside the box. The design off the paddle is amazing and whit all your skills and craftsmanship you did a excellent job! Love your work and video very much, and thank you for sharing this great video !
Just started watching your channel today and from one artist to another your work is just amazing.
Your style and workrate and also your editing and video production is quality.
You should be proud 🤍
just so talented
Epic gift is right! Great projects!

Great job on this build your skills just keep improving on both building and editing!
Thank you so much!
Amazing gift for friend!
awesome man!!! Love what you're doing!
These turned out incredible!!
Thanks Johnny! Can't wait to see the Kumikoi video!
@@MakeWithMiles Thanks Miles!! I'm working on it right now. Hopefully it'll be out soon
First video of yours i've come across, definately earned a like and sub. Keen to try kumiko out for myself now!
It is a really good looking job.
Suggestions, you may want to try using a flat surface on the bottom to fit the sanded pieces, so it's level. Also I would consider pocket screws and dowels to secure the paddle head to the handle
Mold release, mold release, mold release!

Watched one of your previous videos and saw the Laura Kampf shirt, knew I had to subscribe after seeing a fellow fan and the amazing work you have done
Haha thank you! I am the biggest Laura Kampf fan and am greatful to have gotten to know her a little over the years. She is such an incredible maker/inventor.
