I know this video has been up for a while but I just found it. I think these paddles are stunning! Tip for the resin bubbles, I think they came from inside the Kumiko pieces as the resin saturated the wood. You might want to consider sealing the interior wood pieces with stabilizing resin before you pour the epoxy to eliminate the bubbles and spray the top with isopropyl alcohol.
Beautiful Miles! Beautiful paddles, amazing video. Pulls at your mama's heart to see both yours and Rory's beautiful creations in one video. Fitting as a lead up to finishing high school together. Thank you for sharing your work with the world.
Awesome work Miles--appreciate how you seek to express yourself not just in the woodworking and crafting, but in the filming and editing too. The videos have a great sense of rhythm and momentum that keeps easy attention all the way through. Can't wait for the next one.
I thought the white epoxy was going to turn out bad but i actually love how the walnut goes with the resin! All three paddles look really slick you're really talented
Really cool designs! Something to consider if you haven't already is painting on a thin coat of resin around the wood and letting it dry before doing the deep pour. Sealing the wood first can also prevent bubbles! Only issue with the kumiko pattern is being able to scuff the dried resin in the hard to reach parts, but I don't doubt you've already figured out a solution!
Amazing work. A tip I was given years ago, turn the gallon jug on it's side when pouring. This will get rid of the chugging and give you a steady pour.
Miles, I am now literally obsessed with your videos and artworks!! your editing skills are also pretty dope, it's so satisfying to watch. keep up the great work✊❤️
Very beautiful design. Awesome job. Hopefully he gets great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
More outstanding kumiko work! They all look pretty sweet but I think the one with black epoxy is my favorite. And it goes well with the guitar and amp. 😁 Great job, and some fantastic aerial shots at the end there. Thanks for sharing!
really cool! i work in a commercial wood shop and i'm really impressed with what youre able to build with your limited setup. awesome ideas, keep them coming! :)
Mate, I've just stumbled upoon your channel and I've never seen such incredible woodworking in my life. Phenomenal work and a phenomenal film. Thank you for sharing
This deserves way more views... love watching your skills and hard work. You're a solid friend. I would be so grateful if one of my friends invested that much time and effort into a gift for me. You're a dope guy Miles
I love your work! Quick suggestion, when you have to cut the kumiko piece to size, try putting it under the hole you are trying to cover. For example, under the hole in the paddle. Just thought it might make it easier
I’m amazed at your work!! You have such a magnificent style and talent. I’ve been watching your videos and you’re killing it!! One suggestion. You might want to consider using a vacuum bag when using epoxy or fiberglass. It would eliminate the bubbles.
Suggestions, you may want to try using a flat surface on the bottom to fit the sanded pieces, so it's level. Also I would consider pocket screws and dowels to secure the paddle head to the handle
that is sick! quick tip for your buddy, really you should be kneeling while paddling in a canoe. Lowers your center of gravity and helps with an more efficient stroke. But that is a sick paddle and canoe!
Just started watching your channel today and from one artist to another your work is just amazing. Your style and workrate and also your editing and video production is quality. You should be proud 🤍
Shore I enjoy this video, you are so creative and your are relay thinking outside the box. The design off the paddle is amazing and whit all your skills and craftsmanship you did a excellent job! Love your work and video very much, and thank you for sharing this great video !
Thank you so much! I was kinda worried about it's durability haha. I ended up fiberglassing all of them after I finished the video, and it stiffened them up quite a bit.
Awesome build, I'm sure someone has mentioned this but the jigsaw blade most likely snapped because of vibration due to the work piece hanging out so far. Holding the blade fairly steady at the edge of the table and moving the work piece can help a lot (Incase anyone reads this :)
Watched one of your previous videos and saw the Laura Kampf shirt, knew I had to subscribe after seeing a fellow fan and the amazing work you have done
Haha thank you! I am the biggest Laura Kampf fan and am greatful to have gotten to know her a little over the years. She is such an incredible maker/inventor.
Loved this video miles! We got to see alot more of your personality in this one and i enjoyed that a LOT And as usual, beautiful cinematography and camera work :) keep up the great work!
✨Here's the link to buy the paddles: etsy.me/3pIcuPa
Thank you guys so much for the support!
That's a steal of a price if you ask me! They came out beautiful! And you put lots of hrs in to it keep up the good work!
@@somen000b how much are they I can’t see them for some reason
Who ever got the paddles are super lucky ❤
Amazing work both of you! Love that the guy who built a canoe has never paddled a canoe.
Haha that came as a total surprise to me also, seeing as he rows competitively almost every day of the week ;) Thanks for watching Ryan.
Imagine spending a year building a canoe, getting out on the water, trying paddling for the first time and being like 'this sucks actually' lol
@@fohkukohgeki haha
@@fohkukohgeki I know right! Have you seen Acorn to Arabella? He’s been building a yacht for years, can’t sail

Wow - the craftsmanship that you both have is incredible. Also beautiful to see your friendship. Hold on to those childhood connections
Incredible work, Miles!! They turned out amazing!!!
Thank you guys so much! This project wouldn't have happened without your support!
How are you so knowledgeable and so skilled at such a young age 😮 , your parents must be so incredibly proud
Looks like some air may have left the Kumiko timber pieces, too. Not a bad idea to seal the timber first before the epoxy.
Beautiful Miles! Beautiful paddles, amazing video. Pulls at your mama's heart to see both yours and Rory's beautiful creations in one video. Fitting as a lead up to finishing high school together. Thank you for sharing your work with the world.
Dooood I love watching the come up. Killer work, wood and vids.
Excellent choice in music - top notch production. You have another dedicated subscriber, Sir!
This man's been super spoiled with a gorgeous canoe and paddle for his very first time! Couldn't stop grinning, hope he has many epic adventures
This videos is really good. Like the actual content is so interesting, plus the music and cinematography is nuts. Instant classic.
Man that means a lot. The editing, music selection and filming is the part I look forward to most 😄

Good tip here. When on it's side, if it's a jug with an offset opening, keep the opening up (towards the top).
The craftmanship on the paddle is amazing.
HOLY SHIT MILES! THIS WORK IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! YOU'RE INCREDIBLE MY DUDE!
Thank you so much pal! It wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly without your advice. Much love!!

I cannot decide on which I love the most, they're all fricken' beautiful.
Amazing work! FYI, Ottertail is more effective when paddling solo or at the back.
Astounding!! Great work!!
