I used this method, and it changed the appearance of the paper, but I couldn't change its texture. It still feels new, and I need a way to make it feel old. I have paper that looks exactly like currency. Can you help me? I've tried many methods over the past four months without success. I buried it in the soil for two months, and when I took it out, its texture hadn't changed.
please answer me

@@michaelafritz9453 good, thank you. will you answer me about my question please??
answer please?
This is perfect!! I told my 4 YO daughter last night we could make a treasure map for a treasure hunt and it’s been evolving into a much bigger thing! Can you antique the paper first and then easily draw on it with colored pencils? Or would it be better to draw first and then antique it??
I would antique it first and then draw on it. What a fun project to do with your daughter.
May I just add that if you’re gonna print something on paper in future you wanna print first as running antiqued paper through printer might clog and damage it
that sounds awesome, i wish my family did fun things together like that! im just watching this for an art project im planning
Fantastic idea, and not very messy, thanku for showing us.
Thank you so much! I have watched several videos, for my class, showing them how to make paper look old. Your video is, by far, the easiest, safest, and least messy of all my searching! Thank you! Sending the hubby for instant coffee right now.
Glad it was helpful!
That paper looks beautiful. Need to show how the paper looks after you have used it in a diy. That would make an excellent video. Hope to see one soon . Love all your videos.
Yes I will for sure!! Thanks for watching Donna
Hi! This is fabulous! Sometimes getting certain results fast is great. This is one of those processes. I had been so reluctant to try making stain paper because of the oven drying process. Now even my kid can do this! It looks so genuine. I can hardly wait to try it. Thank you so much for sharing!
So easy to do
DEIDRE !! I tried it! I printed out a stand of pine trees and did your technique. Then I wrapped the paper around a small wire "frame" and made a night light!!! SOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUTe !!
Oh wow cute is that!!❤️
I love this technique. Especially cause it's easy. Thank you!
Glad you like it!
I use coffee and tea to age my papers. There's also "cinnamon staining" papers but I haven't done that yet. To add more of an authentic aged look, I'll also add some coffee smears, drops & splatters. Love it! I love how you make the paper edge rough -- it's perfect!
Thanks glad you enjoyed
Thank you for sharing I will surely make this one nice and fast not to mention easy have a blessed day
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching June
I tried the coffee way today and it worked fantastically, thank you and God bless 😀
WOW I will try it for my English project 😮
Have fun
This tutorial is fantastic. I'm making a birthday gift for one of my closest friends and I was struggling to find a good way to make vintage looking paper for it. This video is a life saver.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi 2 new crafty friends here. We love aging paper and loved your video thanks for sharing and Happy Crafting from Scotland.x
Thanks for coming
I want to try this with book pages to glue onto a poster board! I already brewed some coffee so I'll see how it works with just using a wet paper towel without the instant coffee in it. 😊 I'll keep you posted!!
Have fun!
I love this!! Thank you so much! I’m always looking for simpler crafting tips!
You are so welcome!
Well done girl !!! That was a great tutorial
Thank you so much!!
I dissolve instant coffee with hot water in a tiny bowl. Add more or less coffee for different intensities of aging. I use a paintbrush to apply the solution onto the paper. I have an old window screen which I use to dry my papers quickly by laying the wet papers on top then placing the screen over a raised area to let air circulate around the papers until dry. Works great as well when making handmade paper.
Yes that will also work fantastic!
Perfect! This is just what I needed for a project today! I used a combination of tea and coffee, and dried in the oven.
Only issue I ran into was the use of scissors to roughen the edges --- I found that a nice smooth table spoon or soup spoon works much better! It roughens the paper, delaminates it slightly and doesn't make it look like it's been cut with a blade or sharp object.
Great idea!
You're such a treasure. You have no idea how much you help and inspire me and I know thousands of others. Thank you for sharing your God given talent❤️
I'm so glad! I love to inspire and so lucky to have a great community here to share my ideas with! Thanks for watching Lisa

Hello, love this technique, I always took some Tim Holtz antique linen ink to age my paper, but I love the effect of your technique, will be trying it very soon. Thank you for sharing and have a great day !
I use Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. :) I even use it to distress the edges of my coffee stained paper.
@@KKayfhill I will have to try it, thanks
I haven't tried that product will have to check it out!
I recommend using some scrap fabric to hold the coffee grounds if you are doing lots and lots of pages. You can reuse this for a lot longer
Great tip
Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for!
Excellent
Looking forward to trying this. Thank you
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching Jean
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL! I will be using on my Halloween books. Thanks for sharing.

Question: Is it ok to lightly sand the words before applying the coffee aging method?
I love your channel. I learn something new each time. Thank you! 😊
You certainly can try that! Thanks for watching Marci
i dont have the right paper so it doesnt look weird for what i plan to do, but brown watercolors would help for thicker papers it seems since i did something like that for an art project before. i think i used some sort of card stock? im not sure
Thanks for watching
Thank you for showing this! Love it…
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching Anita

I very much love this idea- I am wanting to do this to a page from a vintage hymn book, then decoupage the page to wood. After the coffee stained age is dry, how would I get my page flat and soft enough to decoupage it? I just found you on you tube/ I am so glad! Thank you for your help I am new to doing decoupage 😳
Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching ❤️
I have used coffee to stain lace and fabric for many years, but this technique for paper is fabulous
It looks fabulous! Thanks for watching Nancy
I was wondering if you age it first then print on it do you cut the edges before or after you put it in the printer? Another question if I print it at staples (the store) will the ink run? If I want to burn the edges do I do that before or after using the coffee? Is the paper brittle and gonna brake if it folds?
Cut after and won’t run if you use a laser printer
Cool idea! Thanks
Thanks for watching Judy
Hello ! Since I found your channel, I learned a lot !
Thank you very much and I'm looking forward to your next video 💕
Happy to hear that! Glad you are enjoying! Thanks for watching
Hello snd thanx for your video. Is this inc print text?
Love your channel.
I know you love not wasting anything, have you tried this with old tea bags? It gives a little lighter effect than the coffee. Love your tutorials!
Yes I sure have!
Thanks to your helpful videos.
I really like your videos, I just would like to ask how to make papers look aged but not looking hard and strong so that I can easily fold them into my pocket.
So creative! Do you think you could age the paper first, then after ironing it run it through an inkjet printer? I don’t have a laser printer and I was thinking it would not run if I did the printing after the aging process.
Yep you sure can! That would work great as long as you leave it full sheet to put thru
I'm learning so much t4s
Wow! Thank you for this tutorial! I have something in mind for a picture frame with a hymn! So I’m excited thank you😊🥰
Here is some good news for you!
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV
“and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Acts 16:30-31 KJV❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate that ❤️
Question: Let's say I want to do this for a large piece of paper that I'm hand-drawing a fantasy map on (I will be using Sharpie). If I draw everything on first, will the Sharpie ink come off (even if dried)?
I’m not sure you would have to test a small peice
Lovely,diy paper. 🙏🤣👍👋
Thank you so much 😊Alice
These were exceptional 🤭 OBSESSED!! I looked on your Etsy store and noticed that all your prints were files only 😩 I don’t have a printer but would love to buy some of your prints I could easily do the reverse method but again I have no printer….
Yes sorry I only sell my digital prints
You can always take the files somewhere to have them printed, even a library.
So helpful! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
This turns out beautifully. If you wanted to flatten out your paper after using your first demonstrated process, do you think you could iron it after drying it with a heat gun? Thanks for sharing all your ideas! ~ Linda
Yes you sure can! Thanks for watching
Anything but Tim Hortons coffee, that is like gold in Montana!
Oh no, yeah I bet it is🇨🇦
I really love your videos, since they are not only interesting , but I do learn lots of useful techniques and brilliant tips an ideas, thanks sooo much for all you do🌸
Glad you like them!

This worked great for my secret Santa gift, thank you
Wonderful!

Great advice! Does this work on photographic paper as well? I want to make a photo look old and there don’t seem to be any videos
O it won’t work on photo paper . I would not use an original photo . I would use a photocopy
@@OurUpcycledLifeThank you for your reply, is there any way to do it on photographic paper though?
Photo paper is not absorbent so anything that you try to put on top of it will not soak in and stay so I don’t know of a method that would actually work well on photo paper unfortunately
@@OurUpcycledLifeThank you again
Yep gonna try this on a song book paper and mod podge it on to an old jug
Great idea!! Thanks for watching Sue
This turned out so amazing! I know I'm probably the only Canadian that doesn't like coffee, Tim Hortons or any for that matter. I just don't like the smell of coffee, I know, my husband's says I'm weird, but I'm willing to give this technique a 'go'! Maybe I should use a clothespin.......for my nose?!😄
Lol.... I love coffee but only decaf.... Otherwise I am wild :) Try tea bags also to stain : ua-cam.com/video/9o2mvvVnzuQ/v-deo.html
@@OurUpcycledLife Yes, I've tried tea staining before, great idea!😊
This is great
Glad you enjoyed
Ohhhh my! You did NOT just use that Tim Hortons coffee on that paper!!! Lol! Being from WNY we love our Canadian coffee (maybe too much)!! Love this but I will be using dollar tree coffee… not the good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Hahaha!! That made me giggle... this is actually a old jar we had in camper and was old, otherwise I wouldn't have used it! We love our Timmies here :)
@@OurUpcycledLife lol! Thank goodness!! Glad you got a smile out of it! Tummies is my favorite over ANY coffee! Take care!
Great job

Hi! I have to do a diary entry from the 1700 so I was looking for a video and this one was a jackpot but 1 question; I’m writing on the paper with pen so does that matter. Whether it’s printed or not? Thanks!
I would age the paper then write on it after. Sounds like a wonderful project
Thabks, now i can make a fantasy map written a few hundred centuries ago by different mapper(and that mapper is me in different costumes) with a crap ton of spanish on it
Should you not distress the paper before printing? Is it harder to print on? Thanks for any info.
Yes it is harder to print on because it isn't full paper size. Thanks for watching
delicious
Sehr interessant ihre Technik, habe es sonst immer mit schwarzen Tee Beuteln gemacht Grüße von der ⚓Nordsee ⚓
Thanks for watching
Was the prints, printed from a link Jet or laser? Thank you
Are use my LaserJet printer
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
Do. You think I could use a brown paper bag for this technique?
You certainly could. Thanks for watching.
I learned how to do this so I can annoy one of my friends, it has become an inside joke about writing her long letters (about 3 feet or more in length and I can't forget that I wrote it like I time traveled from the 1800s to modern day-) and buying old looking paper has gotten to expensive.
Thank you so much for this video (and continuing to help me annoy my friend with writing long long letters to her)
That’s too funny lol it certainly isn’t easy way to create antique looking paper
I just heard "get out your GUN" and froze for a sec.
amazing video tbh looks terrific
Cool
Thanks for watching
How do you balance the acidity of the browning ingrediants?
Add a little bit of backing soda to your coffee.
great tip!
Hello ! Print laser or ink jet ?
You can use either but use ink jet after you have coffee stained or the ink may run
Worked great for a letter in my dnd game, my players freaked out when i showed the handout
Excellent
What sort of project would you need to do the back
If you just wanted to use it for a letter to send to someone :)
Really nice but can you show us examples of how you can use them? Thanks
You can use him and lots of crafting, DIY scrapbooking, junk journaling, and you can decoupage with them just get creative
Can you roll the paper after doing that? Looks like its going to break
Yes you can no worries
What temp is the water?
Just like warm will work:) Thanks for watching Deborah
Is there any issue with ink running? And does it make the paper brittle or easily ripped. I'm wanting to make a book with this paper and font want it to fall apart
Are use my LaserJet printer when printing on these papers so I don’t have to worry about the ink running if you’re using an inkjet it might be a bit more tricky
How do I get rid of the smell from the coffee?
How does one get this effect on a canvas?
I think you would have to paint the campus first with a chalk paint and then do a coffee stain on top of
😍
I’m trying to make a really old looking book
Will work great
Save paper towel... dry for projects too...
Great idea! Thanks for watching Sharon
