Watch a full tutorial as a 2016 Ford F150 will have a new pair of Alpine coaxial speakers installed in the rear doors. We will be using the Alpine Type S-S65 6.5" coaxial speaker which is rated for 80w RMS each side of power output for better sound quality.
Note: This vehicle wasn't equipped with the Sony amplified system from the factory so we do not need to retrain a factory amplifier.
This video applies to Ford F-150 models for years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This kit also can work for F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 models for years 2017, 2018, and 2019. This video also includes door panel removal, speaker wiring, and installation.

I have a 2015 Supercab version of this truck, do I need shallow mount speakers do you know?
Amazing…very clear and with this video seems like is not to hard to do it . Thanks buddy !😊
Just finished this project using the recommended parts. Worked perfect. Thanks for posting the video!
Awesome man, great video. 👍
Many thanks! You covered everything even the finer points. Excellent video.
Great video and the detail is what makes it even better. Huge fan of knowledge from others sharing it. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Need help! I changed all 5 speakers (including the center channel) but I do have the Sony factory amp. You mention training the amp? How does this work? My bass has certainly changed. Thanks in advance
Just curious...I was shopping for speakers for my 2017 XLT SuperCab and saw that the Alpine S-65's won't fit in the rear doors due to the speakers have a taller mounting height. Are the SuperCrew and SuperCab mounting heights different?
Crutchfield says those speakers don’t fit in the rear door of my 2018 F-150. They say the top mounting depth is larger than allowed. Do they rub on the factory grilles?
God bless you all 🙏🏻
It seems from the video that the bracket for the speaker does, in fact, fit. Yet Amazon claims that it doesn't fit my 2017 F150. Not sure why that would be when you installed it without any issues😅
Very detailed video, thanks for sharing how it's done. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can replace the rear speakers and hopefully see why my rear passenger speaker doesn't work.
Amazon's fit guide is trash, never trust it.
will this procedure and speaker fit into the rear door on a 2018 f150 extended cab?
Hello, why didn’t you replace the 7th speaker in the middle of the dash?
Where would you splice to amplify the rear door soeakers?
hi - do you have to worry about the speakers being water proof? Doesn't water flow down the backside of that panel?
I think you got bigger problems if you got water flowing on the backside of the panel
Will this work without an amp and the factory head unit?
Excuse my audio noobness but I noticed you added coaxial soeakers in the rear and component in the front, whats the difference from either and your reasoning for this? I have your listed parts in my wish list and planning on installing front and rear speakers
By the way I have a 2018 F150 supercrew will everything fit as your videos?
Everything we used will fit your truck. Factory uses components up front and since the acoustics of the truck work well with components, I’d recommend going that route. If you simply just add coaxials in the doors up front, you are still using the factory tweeters up in the dash.
Do FAST rings and sound deadening make a substantial difference when installing new door speakers?
Absolutely. Always recommended.
What is the tape you used protect the wiring from the speaker?
Tesa tape
Anyone know the size of the speakers ?
Your voice sounds like Chris Pratt!! Haha great video!!
Chris Pratt's secret car audio channel.
How did they sound?
Were they added to a factory head with no amp?
I am serious considering this series in my 2018 f150.
Thanks,
Nope, amp was added. Link to that video is in description. They sounded great with more power behind them. We were pushing about 80 watts RMS.
@@ProvoBeastAudio awesome
Thanks!
@@billyhenley6968 I just changed my front and back door speakers in my 2018 F-150 XLT. I bought JBL GTO 939 6x9 and 6.5. I used kilmat on the outer and inner skin of the doors. I also bought NVX speaker rings for all four speakers. I don't have an amp just the factory head unit and I can barely tell the difference between the factory speakers and my new speakers. You definitely need an amp
