I would happily play either one. If I could only have one, I think I would go with the Risa. I love that fret board and like the body style a little bit more. I think that is one of the beauties of all the different makes, styles etc. Ian, something fo everyone as we all have our own tastes. It is a beautiful looking uke!
Congrats on a beautiful new electric ukulele Verity, definitely one of my favs. If you are not used to playing steel string electric guitars (like me) you need to be quite light with your left hand fingers when pressing down. Also make sure you are not pulling the string across the fretboard (unless you are actually bending the string.)

I love owning and playing ukulele and i love owning and playing electric guitars. However, because of the ukulele tuning, you aren’t able to play power chords on it like an actual electric guitar so i’m having a hard time understanding how a solid body steel stringed double humbucker ukulele can be at least as useful as a real electric guitar and even as a ukulele in general because it actually doesn’t sound like a ukulele at all. It’s just sort of an albatross instrument. It’s trying to be 2 instruments at once but isn’t as good as either a REAL ukulele or an electric guitar.
Totally respect your opinion and understand where you are coming from. I’m not a guitarist and really have no intention of playing it (I know some use the uke as a stepping stone to guitar) and totally agree it is never going to match the guitar sound but for me it is a way of at least enjoying being the rock player and being able to mess around with effects etc.
A good comparison, it's hard to know which is best they both sound good. Do they have long sustain? I've found my New Flight mini bass goes on forever if I don't stop it. Are those two the same?
Thanks Malcolm and yes, I think they both sound very similar and they do both have a nice long sustain, I think that is a definite pro with the magnetic pick ups.
Thanks Rachel. Nice demo. I have the Risa LP and love it. Did you do a review of the switch positions and using the different tuning knobs? I don’t think I am taking advantage of the options. But I may have missed a vid covering that.
Haven't tried the Centurion but I think it is down to what body shape you prefer. The Centurion probably sounds more like the Risa in this video with the double humbucker setup.

Have you seen the new Flight mini bass? It matches the blue Pathfinder and it's lush. I'm so happy to have one as it's stopped me having to pay twice as much for a Fanner Pee Wee 🙂
