    I love to play with Ying, she's a champion with too many playstyles. Thank you, there are some things I didn't know and I think I'll do it better.

    Good video.
    I only just today understood how exactly the Life Exchange talent changes the shatter ability. Before i understood that you had to actually aim at your allies and then press the shatter ability button to heal them, i was just going around spamming the shatter because i thought that was all that was needed for it to heal my allies!

    this has been really helpful! ive been trying to learn ying (mastery 52 io main) and felt like i couldnt really do much healing with her, so knowing how to position her illusions and to run life exchange will definitely be a game changer-

    I remember back in the days when she had the talent that made her illusions heal two allies at the same time (per illusion) with the downside of each beam doing less healing. I personally enjoyed that talent since it did help with healing the whole team at the same time, if bundled up. But I enjoy this current healing talent as well.

    Ah dw, I've played with lots of high rank players, including GMs, throughout the years (9? I think, can't be bothered to check), and it's a mixed bag at best. It really shows how flawed ranked in Paladins is - you can get into high ranks with mid skill and/or poor strategic thinking as long as you have decent friends to play in a party with. And it's clearly visible here on yt too - videos made by so-called "pros" lack actual substance. It was on display again after Omen's introduction: the most common criticism was "he's inconsistent" - it doesn't really mean anything. Actually skilled players are also often unpleasant as teammates - bloated egos, lack of teamwork, general toxicity. So be proud of being a veteran and staying outside of that cesspool. I hope I'll see more videos from you.

    just got back into the game and was curious if my ying build still held up, and this was really helpful. for me:
    tangible 5, brittle 5, carry on 1, spring bloom 2, spring forward 2 (with life exchange)
    i remember hearing/reading once, cards like encouragement are 'win more' cards, and what they meant by that was you have to get something (an elim) to proc the effect of the card. so for me that led into me reworking quite a few of my builds (which did include those cards) to other ones (like spring bloom for example.) i do think the elim cards are great tho, just different playstyles, kinda a big reason i love the whole card system to begin with really. sure there's some cards that are must haves in certain builds (brittle for example), but a lot of the time its flavor and up to the person individual style, and i just have to commend you for making your guide with that in mind, bc you were correct at the start, many do not.
    my highest is inara at 43 bc i pretty much had to learn tank since no one played it when i started lmao but ying is my highest support at 28 and i love her very much. this was a lovely vid thank you

Like for me if I see them pick a Grohk and we already have a Barik I usually avoid Ying so the Grohk can't do an omega lighting ball bounce build)

    I used to play paladins since launch and beta on ps4, and i was OBSESSED, i stopped playing since i had no more time, this video popped up in my timeline recently and i really wanna get back into it, this last video of yours is such a step up from your old ones and i love the mic, keep up the work and hope more people end up watching your content. I recommend that you leave most of the personal talk at the end of the video or keep it short, since 3 minutes into the video are about personal feelings and i can notice that you sometimes end up repeating yourself (not saying it's bad, i understand where you're coming from and i don't mind, trying to give some constructive criticism in relation to other videos); i also recommend adding timestamps in the description, in case u need help w anything I'm so available and i have some experience

    Ying is also my main so this video was perfect. Thanks for putting all the effort - I definetly learned something new here to use :) One thing I've seen ying players do as well is placing the illusions up in the air and not directly at the ground. I assume so that they aren't such a stationary target in the beginning?

    • @Emmy13691
      @Emmy13691  Рік тому +1

      Yes it makes it harder to hit for a few moments, and it places it as far as it's placement range can go! I don't have to estimate on the ground and can just throw it down in the air and it will fall into place, it can be hard to tell where it will fall sometimes but once you get the hang of it it's great :)

    Ngl the set is great... First match I pull up to and I did exceptional levels of healing. We still lost though because the teammates I had were
    Tyra, Evie, Series, Jeno's, and Me (Ying). We lost so badly, no Frontline at all...
    I picked my character immediately so I was expecting someone to go frontline...
    I'm in my second match and 2 other PEOPLE picked Support again after I already picked. Atleast we got a Frontline this round...
    *Yes this Set is immensely good though, I like this set.*
    Edit: We won the 2nd match. Got the number 1 healing out of everyone, over 100k

    My builds are both based around escape or survivability
    One build i have brittle and efficiency at 5
    And the other i have brittle and efficiency at 4 and tangible at 5
    After this video i might have to add another build to the mix
    Since you said there is a 4 second window before the game stops registering a dead illusion's location as a place to teleport to
    I would make a build thats more oriented around clone healing like you said
    Im talking cdr on clone destruction clone health and ofc clone extended duration
    Because i did find it weird why i dont teleport to a dead illusion's location
    I have to test that out now
    Tysm ❤️❤️

    Really good vid with a lot of insights.
    Ying is such a weird champion, she is really basic, just shoot, place healing turrets, teleport and "shatter". On the other hand every of her ability is so odd, clones are not healing person who actually needs healing (thank you for explaining how it works, I've been playing this game for a long time and never knew that, I always thought it heals just person closest to clone and I was getting frustrated when I was literally inside that clone and yet still not receiving healing), movement ability just teleports you to "random" clone (ok, I've watched vid, it's not random, but even pro players in tense battle have problems to determine where they'll get teleported and usually it ends at just teleporting couple times to check where they can go, also as i recall correctly hirez changed the way how teleport works, earlier you just had to look in general direction of clone and tap button to get there, no holding button, no random teleports to furhtest clone) and for some even odder reason she has ability to destroy her main healing source to deal dmg...
    You've mentioned that, but it has to be stressed every time - during Yings ult you can teleport to your homies, still a lot of people doesn't know that and will not know until someone will tell them about that fact despite it is mentioned in ability description, but who reads that?
    Ying, except of only Jenos, has only one healing legendary, that reduces her playstyle as main support to just one option and tbh really boring option to act like yet another clone shooting healing rays into teammates.
    What about Rewind? Isn't that a good filler for loadout?

    • @Emmy13691
      @Emmy13691  Рік тому

      Thank you for the comment and I will try to respond to all of it! Yes Ying is such an odd champ, she was originally a damage when we was let out in beta but was charged to a support. That may explain a bit of her weirdness next to the fact that she is so old. As far as movement to the farthest clone, that is me looking through change logs and patch notes, and is their official label of how it works. Like I said in the video I don't think it's the case, but my testing may not be the correct conclusion! They may have done a hidden patch to her somewhere in the last 2 years that made it wonky is my theory. I think the card Rewind is actually great! Especially when used with Fracture and Life Exchange, great combo! I hope I answered everything!

    • @thn_
      @thn_ Рік тому

      @@Emmy13691 And what do you think, does she needs another healing legendary? Do you have any ideas how should it work?
      As for now Ying is just a heal bot, every other support bring more than that to the table, either it is cc or dmg or spread healing, I know she is one of the oldest supports, but grohk got many changes, grover has his all legendaries reworked, pip has been tuned with addition of combat medic. Ying needs some more love from EM.

    • @Emmy13691
      @Emmy13691  Рік тому

      @@thn_ I personally think it would be nice to see he get a second healing card, however I think the community would be upset to see either of the dmg talents go since they are so used. I actually think Focusing Lense could benefit to being put in per base kit, with reduced damage, and replaced with a healing card. Her old healing card Lifelike "Illusions can now target two allies when Healing, but Illusions heal for 20% less." could be tweaked and returned

    Used to main Focusing Lens Ying when I first started until I got to around mastery 10-15, which is when I experienced the magic of Life Exchange. Her healing is absolutely life saving. At mastery 47 Ying, I haven't touched Focusing Lens since, and I've never used Resonance. Her illusions are also important not only for healing your teammates and yourself, but also a good getaway even if your teleport skill is on cooldown. You can plant an illusion infront of you to bodyblock attacks to escape as long as you're there's no one else to heal.

    It's really interesting how the two maps you listed as the worst for Ying are the two I specifically would use her on because I'd have such a hard time with the other supports 😂. I'd usually put the clones on high up ledges or in the alcoves on either side of the point on both of those maps so people wouldn't be able to destroy them easily. When I do that it would also make easy places to escape to vertically if I'm flanked. And if the flank tries to follow me I'd just teleport right back to where I was initially lol

    I'm trying so hard to enjoy playing Life Exchange Ying, but it's difficult. I think if I had a good premade team, it'd be great. I tend to run randoms though, and Resonance Ying gives me more independence when everyone scatters and I'm left fighting flankers by myself. In general, a hybrid build seems to work well in casual PuGs. I'd love to get better at and especially enjoy the full heals build.
    *My Resonance build is a bit odd. It has no shatter cards because I almost never shatter with it. Instead, I use the reload speed card and hide behind my illusions while firing rapidly. I let my illusions expire or get killed to force people off the point. My stats at the end are usually almost identical for heals and damage. It's a nice hybrid build that feels good to play, but I understand why it's not meta.
